Nissan X-Trail test drive since 2007 SUV

Returner

In January of this year, the Russian representative office of Nissan hastened to announce the start of sales of the X-Trail model equipped with diesel units
Which, by the way, was extremely unexpectedly a year and a half ago, presenting the current version of the SUV, the Japanese expressed quite clearly: turbodiesella modifications were excluded from the Russian program.
The reason for the change of concept is extremely low in demand. The first -generation to buyers of the Turbodiselle model was available until the cessation of sales. However, this pill was not sweet for the Japanese: according to official statistics, out of hundreds of X-Trail set by domestic clients, only five worked on diesel fuel. And this is in the best situation.
Although in the summer of 2007, no one dared to think about the crisis, oil was cheerful up, and the 95th gasoline at gas stations cost a little more than 17.5 rubles. The diesel fuel in such a situation was the least in demand. Now everything is different, and the turbodiesel engine may well become for someone the very notorious anti-crisis proposal.
However, what a share of such modifications will turn out this time, time will tell the first quarterly reports. In the meantime, we will see what the diesel Nissan X-Trail is like.
As expected, there are no external or internal stylistic surprises here by definition, in fact, this is a complete analogue of gasoline modifications presented in 2007 with the same body, similar, the same set of options and with a branded intellectual system of all-wheel drive. The only thing that distinguishes a beginner from an old -timer is a modest DCI nameplate on the baggage compartment door. And a characteristic roar of the motor. Alas, on the X-Trail, this 2-liter unit is no less no less than on Qashqai+2.
Moreover, both outside and inside. The rumble of diesel is quite intrusive, but here it is worth admitting that it does not go beyond the scope of the permitted even at high speeds. Its presence is noticeable, but for passengers it is uncritical. By the way, unlike gasoline analogues, where the famous basement CVT is proposed as an optional box, a conventional hydrotransformer machine is installed on the diesel X-Trail. But given that the DCI already at 2000 rpm gives out the maximum 320 nm traction, this step is quite justified: with such the moment characteristics about comfortable driving with the variator, you can forget, and this will not be reflected in the transmission resource.
Immediately a tandem of a 2-liter diesel and automatic transmission works like a clock. The craving below, as you know, is magnificent: in traffic, the driver even does not have to press the gas, the SUV literally breaks into the gaped gap.
Excessive traction, however, can go sideways on the off -road, especially on loose sand. In the absence of a lowering row, hard locks and, as a rule, the corresponding tires, all 320 diesel nm grave will be exposed to the owner very soon and efficiently, so it is better to be more careful with an accelerator in such a situation.
But there will be no problems on the track. With intensive pedaling, DCI willingly revolve up to 40004500 revolutions. But it is worth throwing the gas, as the control electronics of the box will immediately give the command to switch to the fourth, or even to the fifth level, providing the optimal movement mode in terms of traction and economy. The power unit almost falls asleep, but the newly pressed pedal will return everything to its circles. In this case, only a fairly noticeable turbo -multiple, multiplied by the time of the reaction of the machine, can upset in this case. However, the average driver will most likely not feel this.
Yes, and is unlikely to pay attention to the nuances of the steering. There are changes, but insignificant. The steering wheel of gasoline X-Trail is light enough and sometimes empty. The same behavior is also characteristic of diesel novelty, but it initially has a heavier front, which again does not have the best effect on stability in high -speed turns. However, in this case, the rescue will come to the rescue that can predict the events of the All Mode 4x4-I.
