Nissan Qashqai test drive since 2010 crossover

The updated Qashqai crossover, the hit of the Nissan model line, will appear in Russia in early spring 2010. Both Qashqai and Qashqai+2 models will be equipped with the ALL Mode 4x4 front or all -wheel drive and a 1.6 or 2 liter with a capacity of 114 and 141 hp. respectively. The exterior of the updated Qashqai and Qashqai+2 developed in the European Nissan design center in London, and the main engineering solutions in the European Technical Center in Bedfordshire. Cars will be produced at the factory in Sanderland, in the northeast of England.
The most noticeable changes affected the front of Qashqai and Qashqai+2: wings, hood, radiator grille and updated headlights made the car even more spectacular and interesting. The remaining parts of the body, including the bottom, which improved not only the appearance of the car, but also its characteristics, are also significantly modified. So, the total effect of these transformations led to a decrease in the aerodynamic resistance coefficient from 0.34 to 0.33.
The shape of the hood has undergone small modernization: the longitudinal ribs became longer and end closer to its front edge, which reaches the headlights, providing a minimum gap between adjacent details. The outlines of the lower part of the bumper around the air intake have been changed, which allowed to optimize the flow of air to the radiator. The configuration of the headlights, as if covering the front corners of the case, looks more dynamic, aggressive and modern due to the change in its three main elements (headlights of near and high light, as well as turning pointers). The plate grille of the radiator is replaced by cellular, more sports and technological. The central emblem of the brand, surrounded by a V-shaped chrome frame, is preserved as a family line of Nissan crossovers.
The shape of the rear lights has not changed. But the upper part of the diffusers, behind which there are rear-way lights and turn indicators, became transparent, and the lower part with overall lights and stop-signals remained red. To increase brightness, 12 LEDs are installed in the stop signals. The car is equipped with new 5-spoke alloy disks of 16- or 17-inch, depending on the configuration. In addition, additional body colors are offered: red Magnetic Red and gray Titanium Grey.
In the updated version, the design of the dashboard has been changed, due to which the readings of the instruments have improved. Another was the design of the two main scales of the speedometer and tachometer. Bright white numbers on a black background, combined with red arrows and chrome edging, not only look stylish, but also distinctly distinguishable. On the left on the tachometer dial is a small temperature indicator, and a sensor of fuel level is symmetrically (on the right side of the speedometer field). Between the two main scales, a new white TFT screen is placed in white. It displays such indicators as instant and average fuel consumption, mileage, time, as well as settings of the cruise control system and limiting maximum speed.
A new option for decoration of the cabin has also been developed: the front panel and the upper parts of the doors are made in black, and the seats and the lower parts of the doors are light gray. Such a solution makes the interior brighter and more comfortable. In addition, a backlight appeared in the legs of the driver and the front passenger, so it became more convenient to get into the car in the dark. Also, for the comfort of passengers in the cabin, additional storage sections are provided. For example, at the base of the central console there was a place for a mobile phone or portable player. Between the front seats of the front -wheel drive version of the car (where there is no Allmode 4x4 mode switch), immediately behind the gearbox lever, you can keep parking cards, keys and other small things.
Qashqai has become quieter and more comfortable in the cabin. Thanks to the use of a new multi -layer insulating material covering the partition of the motor compartment, less noise and vibrations penetrate inside. The altered design of the windshield and the seal allowed to reduce the noise from the air flows flowing the front racks.
Some changes have occurred in the trim levels of the updated Qashqai. Since the 2010 model year, the Qashqai and Qashqai+2 audio system supports the MP3 format regardless of their execution, and a 6-disk chainer is provided for equipping SE. In versions of SE/SE+ and SV, an ESP system appeared for cars with an engine of 1.6 liters, an acoustic system of six columns and a speed limiter in a cruise control system. A special SV model and top design LE+ is delivered with a panoramic glass roof and electric curtain. Le+ leather finish has become softer and more pleasant to the touch thanks to the altered processing technology.
