In the process of building a country house, we felt an acute need to change our Peugeot 206 with a small but roomy car with all -wheel drive and high clearance. So we went in search of a crossover.
 

Frankly, initially we did not plan to contact all -wheel drive at all. They just wanted to change the car. Even the model was chosen by Toyota Corolla hatchback. But only we were going to enroll in the queue, as he was discontinued. Subsequently, this vicusterity of fate was at our hand: the further the construction of the phase, the more requirements for the car we had. At first, the trunk was more common than that of the 206th, and then it took a larger road clearance. At the same time, I wanted the dimensions of the new vehicle not to inspire horror after the usual Peugeot. There were few options. Those that managed to see did not pass face control because of their unattractive appearance. Therefore, we expanded the sphere of interests, smoothly moving to the SUV region. The most suitable proposals were among Japanese companies. What are the wishes? We categorically refuse a mechanical box: we have to spend a lot of time in the city, and with a machine gun there is much more comfortable. The rear seat should be on the floor with the floor. That's perhaps that’s all.

Not provocative and not envious of the population. However, the car should not be lost in the flow.

Nissan Qashqai
Selected because: fresh model, modest dimensions, suitable price.


When we decided in which direction to search for the machine, our attention immediately attracted Nissan Qashqai. Basically, due to novelty, original design and modest dimensions. At first glance, the car makes the impression of a sweet simpleton with a pretty face of a good -natured koala. But it is worth it to ride on it, as a marsupial turns into a sort of stocky boxer, ready for any unexpected turn of road events. We really liked Qashqai's behavior on the road. He obeys the steering wheel well and quickly accelerates. The variator also liked. With him, the car is briskly and, most importantly, without jerking and thoughts, it gains speed. By the way, this is the only car presented, which has a manual switching mode in the box. It seemed to us, so Qashqai even slightly improves the dynamics. If we take into account the compact dimensions and a small radius of the turn, it seems to spin in the rhythm of the city and go to overtake on the long -hails of the suburban highway on Nissan will be a pleasure. And the suspension is not comfortable, but not cotton, what is needed.


The car caused no less sympathy inside. Solid finish, understandable controls, comfortable seats. And with the spaciousness of the salon, everything is in order. It is a pity that there are few messages and shelves, often you have to deal with documents, and there is nowhere to put them much. The on -board computer screen on the instrument panel could not be very convenient to read information.

The trunk seemed quite spacious. Having folded the back seat, we got the desired smooth floor. But you will have to load things with bent: the door does not rise high enough.
 



Style
You can’t call it a handsome man, but the sweet appearance immediately has it.

Selected because: time -tested popular car.

We could not pass by the Toyota Rav4 still a popular model of a well-deserved brand, despite the fact that the appearance of the crossover was already pretty blessed. We have already tried a version with a 2.0 -liter engine in a dealer center. Honestly did not impress. Some kind of low-proof and thoughtful. Therefore, we were happy to look at the 2.4-liter version. As in advertising: feel the difference! This raf rides is much more interesting. More assertive or something. But the dynamics of acceleration would be really cool if it were not for a lagging machine gun. Well, he does not have time behind the motor, and that’s it! He sharply pressed the gas pedal, the turns took off, and the automatic transmission is still meditating. The RAV4 steering wheel seemed too light. In principle, for the city, namely in the metropolis, most of the time will ride a car, it is very good. The suspension is a little more rigid compared to the previous applicant for the purchase, but this does not affect comfort in the cabin.


You can’t find it up for the design of the salon. Needless to say, quality with a capital letter. I liked everything: comfortable seats with electrical adjustments, and a convenient small steering wheel, and a bunch of different pockets with glove compartment. But you can’t immediately defeat the appointment of many keys on the central console. For example, climate control setting up for some time. But the launch of the engine with the button would like to have in the future car. Convenient: the key is in the pocket, and the car opens and starts from touching the keys on the door handle or on the panel.


Big trunk is an indisputable plus for us. The rear seats are easily folded, you just need to pull the handle on the wall of the luggage compartment. The door would still open up, but somehow differently




Style
Strict body proportions, inherited from the previous generation of the model, are now not in fashion.

He rides quite quickly, but a confused machine leaves an oppressive impression.

Interior
High -quality finish, high landing.

Economy
He has more appetite than Qashqai, but the engine is more powerful!

Honda CR-V
It was chosen because: an extraordinary appearance, they heard a lot of good reviews.

Like Nissan Qashqai, Honda CR-V is a fairly fresh model. And although she did not really fit into our wishes for the dimensions and price, we decided to consider this option. Friends had such a car, though the previous generation, so they spoke very flattering about it. Outwardly, the car seemed to us the most attractive of the trinity. I especially liked the design of the front line: modern, stylish, aggressively.
 

Despite the impressive size, Honda was very friendly in management. A high landing of the driver, good visibility, comfortable seats, a pleasant dashboard does not have to get used to it for a long time, sat down and went. Unacceptably, a machine gun selector is a little unusually. The upholstery of the cabin is made of pleasant to the touch plastic. The interior generally looks solid and expensive. Yes, and there are clearly more places here than the rest.


A trip by car revealed a paradox. CR-V is clearly imprisoned for the sports style of driving: she has minimal rolls in corners, quick reviews on steering wheel turns and a moderately harsh suspension. But at the same time, sharp acceleration is accompanied by delays in the machine when switching gear. And acceleration from the start seemed to be unhurried: either with a mass was overdoed, or with power was confused.
 

But with such a trunk, we could save on gazelles that had to be hired to transport overall goods to the country. And it is convenient to throw things: the door opens high up. But in order to get an even platform, you must first push the seats the second row back as much as possible, and then fold them. This algorithm does not reach immediately. Under the floor of the luggage compartment was a doctrine of a weak help away from civilization. We need a full size!




Style
An ordinary city car. Its appearance does not cause special emotions.

Shodal qualities
Rio accelerates very quickly. You can’t say right away that under the hood is only 1.4 liters.

Interior
Ergonomics of the salon on top. But the abundance of rough plastic is upset.

Economy
With such a nimble motor and manual transmission, I want to ride quickly. Therefore, the consumption will probably increase.

Our choice

After analyzing the pros and cons of each model and securing the support of our own impressions, we came to the conclusion that of these three cars, Nissan Qashqai is most suitable for us. Both of his opponents, of course, are very worthy cars in all respects. But Honda CR-V does not really fit into the idea of \u200b\u200bcompact size, and Toyota Rav4 about modern appearance. Yes, and they cost noticeably more, and the construction of the house is in full swing, so I would not want to spend money. Do not know where the Nissan dealer here is nearby?

Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 models with history. Every year the army of fans of these cars expands, and the crossovers themselves become more and more technological, richly equipped and, as a result, expensive. Nissan Qashqai still cannot boast of a long genealogical tree, but against the background of two grads, he does not at all look like a poor relative. It seems to us that, with the similarity of consumer properties, this SUV even wins the price-quality ratio. An interesting appearance, comfortable salon, compact dimensions, good dynamics and handling the totality of these qualities in itself should draw attention to the model. And if you recall the acceptable price, then many will disappear the problem of choice. So we give the road to the young!
