Nissan Patrol test drive since 2010 SUV

With the time

Nissan presented the seventh generation of the famous Patrol SUV. The glorious name, which appeared more than 50 years ago, still remains a synonym for reliability and legendary off-road qualities of a car for which there are no insurmountable obstacles.
Patrol, who is a direct heir to the neissan of Nissan of previous generations, radically transformed externally, significantly increased its comfort and the quality of the interior decoration. The 2010 model received a new platform, a powerful V8 engine, a 7-speed automatic gearbox and a full-wheel drive system. The interior of the SUV was also significantly modernized: the skin, aluminum and wood were widely used in the interior decoration.

Patrol is still the most spacious car in its class. It offers wider, high and deep front seats, a 100 mm increased space for the legs of the second row, a more spacious third row.
The new VK56VD engine with a working volume of 5.6 L provides a radical improvement in characteristics compared to the 4.8-liter engine of the previous generation. This 8-cylinder power unit with the V-shaped cylinder location is equipped with a gas distribution phase control system and valve opening (VVL) and a direct fuel injection system (DIG). The most developed power is 400 liters. with., and torque 560 nm. The engine is combined with a new 7-speed automatic gearbox.
For the first time in the world, Patrol has a hydraulic body limit system (HBMC) developed by Nissan. It supports the horizontal position of the case, reducing its transverse fluctuations when changing a number of movement or turning. Thus, the system provides comfort when traveling around the city and excellent stability on uneven or sanded roads.
Another most important component of the SUV controllability formula is a new independent suspension of all four wheels (improved compared to the previous structure with an unreasonable bridge). Nissan experts re -developed it from bushings to levers. The combination of the HBMC system and a new suspension with increased moves significantly increases the controllability and stability of Patrol when driving on roads and off -road.

In addition, the car is equipped with a new all -wheel drive system ALL Mode 4x4 with an integrated subsystem for choosing a mode of operation, which allows the driver to quickly choose sand, off -road, snow or stones.
Also, a system is installed on the SUV that allows you to move on the rise (HSA), and the control device (HDC), which are also turned on with one pressing of the button. If the driver stops on the rise and removes the leg from the brake pedal, HSA holds the car, preventing it from sliding back. The HDC system involves brake mechanisms, maintaining the constant speed of the car on the descent: 7 km/h in 4h and 4 km/h mode in 4l mode.
The new Patrol is equipped with an improved air control system in tires (TPMS) with a pressure indicator in each wheel. It gives a sound signal to inform the driver about achieving the desired air pressure in the tire.
The high efficiency of the brake system was achieved thanks to a new hydraulic brake amplifier, enlarged front brake discs (with a diameter of 358 mm) and calipers with four pistons of the opposite location.
Nissan designers paid special attention to the comfort of passengers of the second row: the space for the legs became much larger, in addition, a new information and entertainment DVD system with two 7-inch displays built into the headlines of the front seats appeared.

Patrol has six airbags, as well as a completely updated climate control system, which includes another world novelty from Nissan Air Curtain. Small but very effective ducts installed over each of the side windows create powerful directed cold air flows. Thus, an air curtain arises, a kind of barrier that does not allow hot air to penetrate the salon, which is important for countries with a hot climate.
Another useful feature of Patrol, a cooled compartment located in the central console between the front seats. The unique design of the lid with double hinges allows passengers of both the first and second rows to open this compartment. Six bottles with a capacity of 600 ml are easily placed in the department.
The start of sales in Russia is scheduled for the end of the summer of 2010. Prices and specifications will be announced before the implementation.
