The first acquaintance with the next generation of Nissan Patrol took place in the fairy -tale country of Oman, where, thanks to the efforts of the local sultan, the roads are covered with asphalt of the highest quality and perfectly lit. Nevertheless, we managed to find off-road to at least slightly imagine a novelty in Russian realities

There are less and less civilized countries, where the advantages of this SUV can be fully realized. As a result, these same SUVs also become smaller. They die out like dinosaurs, but not from the cold and the lack of food, but from greenhouse conditions. Yes, and Oman, chosen by Nissan for the first test of the new Patrol, was clearly not suitable for testing the legendary all -terrain vehicle.

In the Middle East, the distant ancestors of the current patrol appeared a long time ago 50 years ago. In those days, they knew about asphalt in those places no more than about Coca-Cola. Now everything has changed. Thanks to the efforts of the Honorable Sultan, the local roads will easily give the headgracks to the best world highways. At the same time, car travelers are unlikely to find at least one unlit site. And on the sidelines, just think, flowers grow. However, this is a lyrics. And we will find physical contact with a Japanese novelty.

We will not be shouting with your soul: the new Patrol turned out to be some kind of painful. Not saying that this is bad, because often brutal appearance becomes not a minus, but a plus. Say, a man should remain a man in any circumstances.

The reverse, and a very positive side of the 7-seater suitcase, consists in a really huge internal space. It seems that a symphony orchestra and three teenage elephants, and even the guy I saw last week in McDonald's last week, will fit in the cabin.

As for the interior, you can’t call it differently as chic. I especially liked the light upholstery, although in Russia they prefer dark tones more. The cabin everywhere uses skin, wood, aluminum, which are quite decent combined with each other. The multimedia center, located at the top of the central console, amazes with its capabilities. It includes a DVD player, a multi-format music center, and a navigation system, and even video surveillance around the body.

It rarely happens when automakers openly call their main competitor. In this case, the Nissanists, absolutely unnecessary, indicate Toyota Land Cruiser. Here he is an enemy, an opponent and a sworn friend. From the pages of the official press, it begins to drip poison when it comes to a compartment for things (this is a large square luggage compartment 25% more than LC200). Or one more thing: you can place a cooler bag, even when the third row of seats is used (impossible in LC200). Well, the competition is cruel. By the way, a few more words about the rear seats: their backs also change the corner. Everything is in an adult way.

On the go, you quickly understand that Japanese engineers tried in every possible way to teach Patrol easily and quickly move along good roads. Just think, an almost three-ton giant equipped with a 5.6-liter engine with a capacity of 400 horses, is able to gain a hundred faster seven seconds. Bravo! Of course, for such abuse, you have to pay an increased consumption of gasoline. In the city cycle, the SUV consumes 20.6 liters, in the mixed cycle, according to the developers, 14.5.

During the maneuvers, Patrol does not sin with disobedience. Excessive rolls effectively counteract the Hydraulic Body Motion Control system, holding the body from transverse fluctuations. This, in turn, has a beneficial effect on high -speed maneuvering. In order for the suspension to work optimally, the driver independently selects one of the four modes: highway, sand-gryaz, snow, stones. The rejection of the control was located in the tunnel between the front seats.

Of course, as befits a modern SUV, claiming leadership in his segment, Patrol is equipped with useful auxiliary assistants. In particular, they do not seem extra starting systems on the rise (HSA) and controlled descent from the mountain (HDC). If you stop on the hill and remove the leg from the gas, the car will obediently stand still waiting for subsequent commands. When moving down, the automation maintains a speed of 7 km/h in 4h and 4 km/h mode in 4l mode. The main thing is not to be afraid and do not try to slow down on your own. By the way, they are turned on by pressing a single button.

Preserving the good characteristics of the all -terrain vehicle, the new generation Nissan Patrol is much better adapted to urban conditions. I don’t know how in Europe or Japan, but in our country there will be enough such off -road cars for a long time.

The new Nissan Patrol is better than the prestige-cages to operate in the city and on high-speed tracks. Preserving the potential of an all -terrain vehicle, the SUV effectively counteracts the rolls, perfectly maneuver and quickly stops. And it differs at the same time first -class comfort.
