The numbers that the whole world were waiting for, we know that you need numbers and will not spend your time in vain. Nissan also does not intend to do this. Its new GT-R accelerates to hundreds in 3.4 seconds, i.e. Faster than the last Dodge Viper, Corvette Z06 and Porsche 911 Turbo. Do not let go of the gas pedal, and after a couple of switches it exchanges a quarter of a mile in 11.6 seconds at a speed of 192 km/h.
We know all this, because we just returned from Japan, where we were present at the Nissan GT-R testing, acquired in private, which took place on the runway near Tokyo. The machine we tested is a complete set for the Japanese market and has 1,500 km on the odometer. It belongs to the Japanese journalist June Nisikav and is equipped as well as the option for the American market: a V-shaped six-cylinder engine with a volume of 3.8 liters with two turbines, which issues at least 473 hp. and 588 Nm of torque. All the same box 6-speed two-pedal mechanics with double clutch, as well as adjustable shock absorbers. However, you have already read about this.
But what you most likely have not yet heard about is about the start control system. Despite the clean 3.5 seconds from scratch to a hundred, Nissan kept this little technical trick a secret. Test GT-R in your homeland, and the need for confidentiality will immediately give way to a thirst for speed.
Controlled start
Activation of the start control function in Nissan GT-R, in essence, lies in the transmission configuration, control of the dynamics and chassis settings. Transmission and suspension regulators should be in R mode, and the VDC system should be completely disconnected (it is turned off by holding the VCD-R button). Well, then you just need to remove the left leg from the brake pedal, and put the right gas on the gas pedal, as you did in college at your Chevrolet Camaro 85 years so that the tires began to smoke.
But the result will be completely different. The computer holds 4,500 revolutions per minute and waits for you to remove the leg from the brake pedal. When this happens, GT-R gives out terrible acceleration, the most stunning that the factory assembly machine can give out. We conducted a test on not quite a dry coating, and GT-R skidded for quite some time before the intellectual drive system for all wheels turned on, and the front-wheel drive also went into business, taking the car into the distance. Indicators of 3.4 seconds from a place up to 100 km/h and a quototer at 11.6 at a speed of 193 km/h make a GT-R GT-R of the fastest machine of all that we have ever tested.
He is even faster than Porsche 911 Turbo with Tipronik, although not much. The German accelerates from zero to hundreds in 3.5 seconds and makes a quarter of a mile in 11.6 seconds at a speed of 189 km/h. Due to the lack of all-wheel drive, Dodge Viper and Corvette Z06 are behind precisely because of the worst clutch with the track. Despite the 600 nm of the moment of the V-shaped dozens, the last Viper compartment accelerates to hundreds in 3.8 seconds and passes 402 meters at 11.8 at a speed of 200 km/h. Corvette Z06 is even more behind. Once an impressive 4.2 seconds to accelerate to hundreds and 12 seconds on a quota at a speed of 194 km/h now look dim, and that is why Chevrolet is now working on super-charged Corvette ZR1.
In order to maintain a car suspension and relations with its owner, we used the start control system only twice, although taking into account slippers on a wet coating, this number is a few more.
But even if you turn off this cunning system and leave the suspension regulator in position R, the car is still damn fast. 4 seconds to accelerate to hundreds and 12.3 seconds to pass a quarter of a mile at a speed at the finish of 193 km/h. All tests were carried out in manual box mode.
World class brakes
To stop the Nissan GT-R, weighing 1,740 kg and accelerated to one hundred kilometers per hour, in just 31 meters, you need 15-inch brake discs, 6-piston Brembo calipers and Bridgestone Potenza Re070R sticky rubber. This is only half a meter than Porsche 911 Turbo, equipped with a set of ceramic brakes for $ 8,800. The same indicator has the Dodge Viper tested and a meter less than that of Corvette Z06.
Experience tells us that the standard steel brake discs GT-R are not designed for long-term operation in hard conditions, as well as the ceramics of Porsche 911 Turbo, but with one-time braking, as now, there is no reason to doubt them. The brake pedal is solid, effective and responsive. In addition, we suspect that the subsequent GT-R configurations will receive a more advanced brake system. For example, like Porsche.
Predictable, simple management
The conditions of our impromptu test drive on the AMI AMI run-and-site strip did not allow a test for lateral acceleration along the trajectory between the chips. Nevertheless, we conducted a standard slal for comparison. And again, the state of the highway, far from the ideal: the marks of the marking passed through our route.
This gave us the opportunity to see a stunning, on the verge of reality, the gt-r. Drinking the markings on the bumps, going around the cones, you begin to feel that this is really a special car. Her suspension remains assembled, and the car goes exactly where it is required, despite the errors of the road surface. The car does not demolish, like Corvette or Viper with high -speed slalom. There is no feeling that the Porsche 911 Turbo engine located behind will gradually move forward.
Nissan GT-R is mobile, with great freedom of control, and the difference between the clutch limit and the control limit is very high. Perhaps this is the most easily controlled machine on which we passed a similar route. But the most important thing is that its capabilities are quite accessible to the average driver than competitors.
With the speed of slalom, 117 km/h GT-R is ahead of Z06 and 911 Turbo, but a little behind Viper with its huge wheels and a speed of 119 km/h. At least, it would be interesting to compare these machines in the same conditions and on the same highway.
The best part
Perhaps it is more incredible acceleration and filigree handling GT-R, only its cost can. At a price of about $ 70,000, this car is available for a medium -sized consumer with high income, who wants to spend most of his income on the car.
Plus, this car will ascend its owner to the limits and speeds that he could only dream of, admiring the unattainable Porsche 911 Turbo. This is a world -class car at a relatively affordable price. It is unlikely that you can offer a more interesting combination.
