Our first acquaintance with a cult sports car took place, the fiery power of which now allows you to suppress the resistance of any enemy.
We will talk about a Japanese car, but, as it regularly happens in our work, with an eye on Germany. The fact that the Nissan GT-R is capable of holding the space pace set by 911 Turbo is at a price of about 75 thousand dollars smaller, does not yet say anything. These are just black numbers on white paper. Therefore, with numbers that traditionally give the ground for gossip, we will figure out right away, so that they do not interfere with the sensations.
So, GT-R was originally created as a ruthless and professional hunter. On whom? Of course, on Porsche. The car costs 125 thousand dollars, which, on the one hand, is a huge amount by the standards of Nissan, and on the other, in the context of officially declared tactical and technical characteristics, percent pennies. The power here is exactly the same as in 911 Turbo 480 hp, but twisting the moment is more modest 588 Nm. Nissan is heavier, and a lot of its mass reaches 1750 kg, while potentially faster. I use the word potentially, because the Japanese stubbornly secretly secret for seconds and kilometers per hour. According to information obtained from sources worthy of confidence, the line of 100 km/h GT-R takes 3.6 s after the start. The difference with Porsche disappeared, because 911 Turbo does the same for the same 3.6 s. And in general, enough about Porsche. We are dealing with a machine that is a completely independent value, although not yet as famous and historically significant as Porsche or Ferrari.
Nevertheless, the German spirit is in everywhere. Even for many thousands of kilometers, on Hokkaido, the northernmost of the Japanese islands, where the Nissan test track is located far from curious eyes. Here GT-R took the first steps and gained strength, and it was here that he appeared before us in his final form. In this reservation corner, Nissan Motor recreated the conditions of the northern loop of Nürburgring with a section of the autobahn, which seems to be a very reasonable step, since it is not enough to take any money to tests to Europe. Of course, the engineers are happy to dangle to Germany under any pretext, even if it is a correction of the settings of the front shock absorbers to compress in the conditions of high -speed passage of a profiled turn. Amazing the fact that the Japanese not just reproduced the geometry of German high -speed tracks, they copied them to the smallest details. Having placed GT-R in the natural habitat of the main opponent, the Japanese try to comprehend the mysterious German soul. A strange way, but one hundred percent Japanese. Having simulated the structure, profile and surface of the autobahn, the Nissanists decided to play the game, adding the decor in the form of furniture and accessories. This is not a perversion, but a competently calculated method of visual adaptation. For example, the local Mitsuoka automobile company has a model called Viewt, which is impossible to take seriously. Nevertheless, in technical terms, the machine is modern and full -fledged. This is a manifestation of a healthy Japanese sense of humor.
The formidable GT-R in an instant erases the faces of a smile. He is a direct descendant of a small, but glorious kind of Skyline GT-R, several generations of which made more for the Nissan image than the millionth circulations of Cherry, Sunny and Bluebird. I do not like the epithet with the epithet legendary, but I have to admit that Skyline, aka GT-R, aka R34, created a legend. Now Skyline alone pronounced aloud is the fireworks of associations. The new car is no longer called Skyline, simply because it is no Skyline. The real Skyline is a sedan and a compartment obtained by cosmetic change of Nissan 350z. They take place under the designations of Infiniti G35 and G37, respectively. As for GT-R, it is built on a completely original platform, unlike its predecessor, who, whatever one may say, was a crossed sedan. The 2007 car car is not as exclusive and expensive as Ferrari F430, which has a positive consequence: its content is unlikely to devastate the owner’s bank account.
It is good or bad, but GT-R is not observed in direct competitors. It is more spacious than the 911st, and much cheaper than the BMW M6. As a result, Nissan remains in the segment of medium -sized sportsmen steamed with the outdated Honda NSX, and after the latter removal of the latter from production will be in proud loneliness there. GT-R has a dynamics, which will be envied by cars with a multi-volume genealogy and astronomical price. Nissan positions his creation as a multi-purpose supercar, which should be understood as follows: GT-R was created to demonstrate its outstanding opportunities in the conditions of everyday operation. Exactly as Porsche 911. Stunningly speeding, it poses a real threat to the most evil modifications of modern sportsmen also that it is easy to live with it. It is easy to manage and does not promise maintenance problems. The rear sides of the most complex relief that combine the wings with the set of the roof and nevertheless stamped as one detail, are the subject of the special pride of Khasegawa, although he loves complain about a huge number of problems that stood in the way of implementing them in serial production. These very sides of their shape inevitably resemble the Ford Mustang of the current sample. Absolutely new V6 with a working volume of 3.8 liters with an arsenal of 480 hp. And 588 Nm has nothing to do with the six, familiar from the Nissan 350z. Structurally, it is close to the Nissan Motor racing engines, was created exclusively for GT-R, and its location in front, but within the wheelbase is dictated by the designation of the Premium Midship platform, which translates as a first-class medium-engineer. Typically Japanese terminology. The engine turned out to be compact, technologically saturated and in many respects to the advanced take at least the skillful integration of turbines into the exhaust system, which made it possible to lower the center of gravity. Well, why GT-R of all generations knew how to surprise the whole world is their intricate transmissions. And the new model does not want to be exceptions. Here, the TRANSAXLE scheme is used, which implies the transfer of the gearbox to the rear bridge, which in itself does not pull on the sensation. However, the gearbox is pre -sequence mechanics with two clutches, and the drive is complete, and such a combination is implemented in practice for the first time. Suffice it to say that there are two cardan shafts under the bottom. One, made of carbon fiber, transfers torque from the engine to the gearbox on the rear axle. The second, steel, returns thrust to the front wheels from the CP using an electromagnetic coupling. With a uniform movement of the coupling, it is open and GT-R becomes rear-wheel drive. But during acceleration, in corners, when slipping the rear wheels of the coupl is blocked and the front axis is included in the operation.
The frighteningly complex ATESSA E-TS all-wheel drive is largely similar to the transmission of the old Skyline GT-R, about which they said that it is so smart that it is able to do without intervention from a person. Now she knows how to track a larger number of parameters and reacts to their change even faster. The transfers process can be controlled using steering wheel petals, or you can use the automatic mode by relying on the wisdom of electronics. Nissan GT-R will set new standards. A whole bouquet of positive emotions caused the study of the interior. This is a level worthy of Porsche! The manic perfectionism, which is rightfully proud of the Audi R8, is still far: the salon lacks individuality, and the gaps between the elements are too big. However, noticeable progress in terms of quality leads Nissan to new borders of competitiveness. The skin is magnificent, and attention to the little things is unprecedented, which is visible everywhere from the finish of the KP lever to the shape of the tolerance control that control the gear speeds, shock absorbers settings and system modes course stability. None of us were allowed behind the wheel, citing the fact that the allocated copy refers to the experimental party, periodically naughty, but all these are temporary difficulties.
However, a serious potential problem looms on the horizon. There are people for whom the brand is important in itself, without reference to the price. Moreover, sometimes the brand solves everything. If you attribute yourself to this particular category, look at the situation differently: there is only one Nissan badge, and it is on the trunk cover. The nasal part, which is striking and, as a rule, informs about the origin of the machine, carries the GT-R nameplate. The same letters decorate the steering wheel. Let it be. And for others, and for you it is a car of the GT-R brand. He is unique. The honor and praise of the Nissanists, who managed to invent and promote another full subbrand. 125 thousand dollars for such a product is a true miracle.
