Test drive Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX 2005 - 2007 sedan

POLYHEDRON

Sports view of the serious trump card of the car. Models say: old -fashioned. Buyers: I already want. Owners of evolution: how so?
X in the index of the new Mitsubishi Lancer is not the letter x! This is ten. The number of the generation (!) Already consists of two digits (if you write in our way, in Arabic). This is serious. This is a story, origin, roots, traditions. The return of Mitsubishi, if not to the roots, to the strong branch of its genealogical tree to aggressive shift of the eyebrows of the 90s, whose quintessence was collected in Galant, the course is certainly strong. The car was noticed everywhere. In the news, on the streets, in show rooms.

Two liters, 150 liters. With. On our Lancer test with CVT: a traditional machine is possible only paired with a half -liter engine. The variator made an even more pleasant impression than the winning appearance of the Lancer with an aerodynamic package. The transmission accurately, briefly, muscularly takes from a place, and then provides the effectiveness of acceleration inherent in the variators. Meanwhile, the sensation of the fact that the motor is connected not with the wheels, but with the rowing screw is weakened here, is weakened. But you can still go into the manual switching mode of the steps with metal steering lines. This will make the car go behind the pedal as attached.

The impressions of the driver’s place are less unambiguous. The quality of plastic was seriously puzzled: the finish is frankly cheap, at least look at it, at least touch it. The skin on the steering wheel is in doubt, and the upholstery of the seats with slippery synthetic material prevents the rollers of lateral support with qualitatively performing their work. The sightseeing is good, the landing is high, and the pedal unit is convenient: everything is modern. But the flight of the steering wheel is small. He will want to move him closer than possible, to a lot.

The trunk is both small and not too convenient. Well, it was sacrificed to design: if the rear overhang is more, the tightened aggressiveness would leave the wedge -shaped silhouette. But in passenger places the real expanse. A trip to Lancer will enjoy everyone without exception. And not only thanks to the comfort of the spatial, but also the running one.

The current Lancer, in comparison with the uncomplicated lightness on the move of the former generation, acquired the weight and feeling of inertia in sled habits. Long passages of suspensions, tolerance to the rolls and excellent smoothness. But controllability did not become a hostage of comfort. The car obeys the steering wheel perfectly and holds the high -speed straight even on a poorly highway, ignoring the irregularities: a magnificent balance of properties for Russia. The brakes with the exact drive deserve high rating.

A comfortable suspension provides a Russian compromise between the smoothness of the course and controllability: the connection with the road with independence from its flaws
A long front overhang, a wedge -shaped silhouette, an anti -wing on the trunk lid. You can’t meet a more aggressive look like a family car today
Simple materials and average ergonomics. Help out overview and comfort
Devices are conveniently digitized and read well
The supply of space in the rear passenger places is greater than that of any of the competitors
The small trunk is additionally constrained by the power structure
