For three quarters of this year, Ford sold more than 63 thousand of these cars, and these are only half the sales of the most advanced Russian car of a much cheaper Togliatti dozens. If production at the Vsevolozhsk factory will grow at such a pace, and at the Volzhsky to stand, where it stood, then after a couple of years Ford will ahead of the domestic auto giant in class S. with marketing, certainly, demand will still exceed the proposal.
But even better illustrates Russians' hunger for good Toyota Corolla and Mitsubishi Lancer cars. Here are two unconditional bestseller among foreign cars imported into our country. It seems to be a change of modeling, nor rise in price, nor even the complete absence of an alternative to the sedan body (the Korollov hatch began their success (Korollov Hatch began their success, on the basis of Lancer five- or three-door, if they appear, no earlier than 2008 ; about the prospects of the station wagons, nothing is known at all).
For the same three quarters, Toyota has implemented 32 thousand Corolla in Russia, offering a new tenth -generation car since February 2007. Agree, it’s not bad for an imported car. And Mitsubishi? The company brought its tenth Lancer X to our market a little later and less than seven thousand cars have found the buyer from May to the level of sales. But, judging by the unintended lines formed (the 1.5-liter version, customers will have to wait three to four months, and the two-liter year) will catch up with their competitor Lancer without straining. After all, it was his predecessor, the ninth generation, in 2006, broke all records and divorced in Russia with a circulation of 46,969 pieces.
AutoDs have long made it a rule to make every next generation of the same car larger than its predecessor. The Lancer X sedan has grown in length by 35 mm. It was more noticeable in height and width (respectively, by 40 and 65 mm). His opponent, who was known in the past, was a sedan-sedentine, rushed radically, lengthening 155 mm (at the same time five centimeters grew in his shoulders). Of course, such a stormy acceleration could not affect the mass. But if Lancer was only more hone for 60 kilograms, then Corolla for a whole centner. But still, the main reason for popularity is price. Initially tempting, it became even more attractive because of the growth of the euro and the depreciation of the dollar. True, now that all sellers operate with fixed ruble prices, the language does not turn affordable to name these sedans. The cheapest Corolla is offered for 494 thousand rubles, if with a 1.4-liter engine with a capacity of 94 hp, but with ABS, an audio system, four pillows, air conditioning and folded rear seats. The most affordable Lancer X for ten thousand rubles is cheaper than a competitor, but his motor is more impressive (1.5, 109 forces). There are ABS, and heating the seats, and air conditioning. Unless there are two pillows and audio training instead of full music. As you can see, at the initial level of equipment, cars are comparable. And in the top complexation?
Corolla 1.6 Prestige is offered with 16-inch cast wheels, a five-speed box with automatic clutch and gear petals on the steering wheel. It is equipped with additional pillows, climate control, rain and illumination sensors, cruise control and a transponder doors unlocking system and engine start. In general, all the benefits of civilization are. But the most attractive engine for Russian motorists is 2.0 with the MIVEC phase system. It allows the use of gasoline 92. On the new Corolla motor with the lowest volume (1.4 VVT-I, 97 hp), he migrated from the previous models painlessly. But the 1.6-liter engine due to the use of the Dual VVT-I system (regulates the phase, both at the inlet and on the release) and the new pistons were made more reserved and powerful. After all, he will now have to make up for the absence of a version of 1.8 in the range of engines.
On ten winds. I will immediately reveal the cards: at first I was inclined to the top ten Mitsubishi. The design of this car is much more spectacular, the salon looks richer, landing behind the wheel, the profile of the seats, the range of adjustments is all at the desired level. Dozens of Toyota also found pluses. She is more spacious from behind, she has more trunk. And the quality of manufacture will not be held. Body gaps are even. Gum, cilia and all sorts of seals are driven with Japanese accuracy (which can not be said about Lancer X). The paintwork is applied as if it was put in several layers and at the same time each was polished. However, these differences are visible on new machines. Each thousand thirty thousand will run in our rash, see the killed roads, mud and a complux backantacle sink, and everything will come to one denominator: the paint will become clouded and the salons will become glamorous, and even the gaps will float.
When it came to comparing the running qualities, Corolla pleased here more. Firstly, it steer more acutely and more exciting, its suspension works to the best of hard and assembled. If you slightly overdo it at the speed at the entrance to the turn, a calm glide begins with the front wheels, which also calmly passes into the light skidding with the rear. And this is without a provocation by a brake! It would seem that with sharp braking, the back of such a machine should completely break, but there is no stable. From this I conclude: the chassis is perfect. Who said Corolla is boring? She has a temperament! The impression does not even spoil the robotic box, which at first only irritates the transmission slowly, with traction failures. Try to transfer it into a sports regime and work more energetically by the accelerator, you will immediately feel a rush of drive. The engine revives at high speeds and accelerates the car as if under the hood there is not a 1.6-liter atmosphere, but something more significant.
A two-liter Lancer X traction, but because of the variator that holds the motor always on one angry note, it is difficult to understand the nature of the engine. The manual mode of switching fire transfers does not incite fire, well, except that before turning it allows you to drop the speed due to braking by the engine. But, it would seem, 26 horses should give this machine a tangible advantage in accelerated characteristics. But in fact it is small. The chassis has a comfortable setting and provides traditional insufficient rotation. In corners, especially uneven ones, Lancer X is rocked, although it is grown grabbly, but the reactions are lubricated, the feedback on the steering wheel is dull. Again, the brakes seemed not so sensitive they were effective when you drive the pedal to the floor, but in the standard slowing modes there is still some kind of spreading. I admit that such behavior is explained by a different brand of tires with a higher profile, but the difference, admitly, is frighteningly obvious. But what about the sport-suspension, stretch marks, lower road clearance? It turns out that this is a lumber.
An unexpected picture was drawn. Outwardly, the peaceful Corolla showed itself to be a careless rider, and Lancer with an intriguing circuit X is more imprisoned for a smooth unhurried ride.
Agree, Mitsubishi designers managed to make an incredible Lancer X interior look like you did not get into a stunted family sedan, but in a thoroughbred sports coup. These devices, planted in shallow tunnels, this cool three -spoke steering wheel with petals ... Does it remind you of Alfa Romeo's salon? No, to blame Mitsubishi of plagiarism unnecessarily in the interior there is a novelty and something national, Japanese. The entire dashboard is clearly separated by visually and functionally massive, beautifully curved decorative insert. From above, an audio system with a chainer and a drowned display, which pleasantly surprised with its musicality, from below the climate control handle, which is a pleasure to use. Africa spun the valve to the right, twisted the Arctic to the left. You can turn the winds in the cabin as you like. The quality of textile materials, as seats in general, is at a high level. The fabric is not marked, but not dull in appearance. The salon is very spacious in width, and glazing and mirrors give good visibility. Almost everything is done from oak materials not so good with plastic. You can also make a claim to the location of individual buttons blindly. But it is better than an ugly salon with buttons in a prominent place.
Corolla salon is characterized by the highest accuracy of the assembly, but is perceived incomplete. People undertook to do one thing, then other people came and remade everything. The engine start button hints at sports. The steering wheel is generally for a racing grip without fifteen -three. The petal control petals are located competently (we will not discuss the question of whether they need a family sedan at all), and the course of steering wheel switches can generally be considered a standard. Yellow -eyed devices look good. Even the lack of Parking position on the box selector is perceived for granted. But you look above, and you see not a dashboard, but one huge, sold out plastic countertop. You look to the right and here you look at anything, so, the central console has an elegant deflection and even slightly mows under Lexus, but this is another large, smooth, more painted piece of plastic. Two glove compartment to the right. The upper one is only suitable for the transportation of napkins every trifle in this hard box begins to stumble. The lower glove box is more spacious, but not much.
