Mitsubishi Lancer Station Wagon 2.0

The Mitsubishi lineup on the Russian market was replenished with another novelty: sales of the Lancer model with a 2-liter engine began. And if the name Sedan Sport speaks for itself, then not everything is clear with the station wagon. Has the 2-liter Station Wagon really become a real sportswagon?

Details

The Lancer station wagon celebrates his return to the market. Celebrates without a special pump, but with the brightest feelings. Buyers missed small mitsubishi station wagons, because the previous generation of Lancer Lancer did not have a universal nozzle, and the car clearly missed the attention of potential buyers. Of course, the Lancer sedan is in a more favorable position than the station wagon, due to the special attachment of our buyers to the sedans in general. But the station wagon has something to attract new fans to its side, and above all, this is an interesting design. The front -line front of the standard Lancer remained unchanged, which means that the station wagon is also superior and moderately aggressive. If the front lines have enviable smoothness in front, then they sharply They are cut and end with vertical racks with high lanterns. It turns out a kind of futuristic species of an iron, which also stands on 15-inch cast discs, sparkling scarlet sides.

Inside the 2-liter version, only some interior details indicate that under the hood is a non-standard motor. And above all, this is a combination of devices - exactly the same as on EVO VIII, and in the appendage to it - the leather steering and the handle of the gearbox lever. The instrument panel, like the entire ergonomics of the driver's seat, was created with the expectation of complete understanding between the driver and the car. Large clear dials are combined with understandable climate management and typically Japanese steering wheel switches, the functionality of which has no doubt. The seat with a small amount of mechanical adjustments is obscured according to classic Japanese canons, quite tough and with a certain likeness of lateral support. The only thing that slightly violates this almost idyllic picture is the driver’s left elbow that constantly touches the door upholstery.

Behind the back of the back of the seat, the seats are separated by the armrest with the cup holders, and indeed it seems that in the station wagon the main characters are the rear passengers. But this is the first impression, and it is deceptive: in the Lancer Station Wagon salon, everyone is in absolutely equal conditions. Thanks to the adjustments of the rear seat, comfort is ensured not only sitting from the back, but also the driver and the front passenger, because the opportunity to feel the knees of the rear passengers with their backs is not as great as in the sedan. The value of the station wagon, of course, is also that it provides an opportunity for transporting the necessary things with minimal costs of transformation. True, it will not be possible to get an even cargo site, but nevertheless, 1079 liters of useful volume - at the full disposal of the owner of the car.

The main thing

The capture space of the front -wheel drive Japanese is hidden by a familiar over Outlander motor volume 1997 cube. cm, developing power 135 hp. The compact unit also gives out a good torque - 176 Nm at 4500 rpm. The engine reaches the peak of power at 5750 rpm, which means that the motor loves to be twisted properly, that in combination with the body, the station wagon looks quite interesting. Unlike a sedan with a 2-liter engine on which an almost combat sports suspension is installed, the chassis of the station wagon has not undergone changes compared to the basic model.

In the gearbox, the gear rates changed and the main pair lengthened. The car is accelerated very fervently, driving the tachometer arrow to the mark of 7000 rpm, and then requiring switching up. Although a small failure is observed in the range of 2500-3500 rpm, then a noticeable rush of power follows and something between streetreising and self -affirmation. In the highest gear, the motor demonstrates excellent elasticity and accelerates the car with enviable ease, obeying the driver's desire and forcing many high school students to take their positions in bewilderment. You must admit that a small station wagon walking on a volvo v80 is a rare sight, although at the start it seemed that this Swede was dutered. Add clear transfers and minimum handles of the handle here, and you will get a fairly invigorating energy cocktail.

The Japanese clearly re -protruding the steering, the car reacts too sharply to the rotation of the steering wheel, which, given the increased tendency of the station wagon to the skid, makes us be more careful in some places. The standard suspension now and then treacherously conveys vibrations to the body, although a second ago it seemed that this joint could be passed without problems. The brakes are also with character, but not as sharp as steering: trying to protect those sitting in a car, the brakes are triggered at the very beginning of the pedal. You can get used to this quickly and simply perceive this fact as one of the features of the car.

The final

Good car. With its character, not devoid of small flaws, but peculiar and high -quality. It belongs to the category of station wagons that it is customary to talk universal in everything, and let it sound trite, but it is. Lancer Station Wagon 2.0 is a dynamic highway of a highland car and a wonderful assistant in the household. At the same time, it does not differ in exorbitant appetite, and its price (slightly less than $ 20 thousand) does not look high against the background of its consumer qualities and rich configuration, which is not in vain called Comfort, because the car has everything you need for a comfortable trip. It turns out that it was not for nothing that we called him a sportswagon: he is a cocky and stubborn, such as a real athlete should be if he wants to succeed.
