Mitsubishi L200 test drive since 2006 pickup
Alien track
Creating a new generation of L200, Mitsubishi allowed herself a little worsening the cross -country ability of the previous model. European journalists still call the novelty the best pickup of the year. And the rivals are still difficult to stay in its rut.To endow the pickup with excellent controllability, soft move and at the same time preserve its off -road qualities simply as to fit into the Christmas tree and well, you understand. In general, you have to choose.
Manufacturers well understand the futility of the simultaneous fishing of two or more hares, and today, even all -pleasing, in theory, pickups to the maximum are equipped and configured for comfort: however, to the detriment of patency.
The new L200, on the contrary, is easily climbing where the driver of another pickup (about crossovers and to talk funny) will slap the door doom and, taking out the shovel, will curse the day when he sat down behind the stylish leather steering wheel of his megacomore vacuum cleaner.
But in the basic configuration of the two hundredth under the brake pedal, ABS will not crack, the air will not become cooler, and several unconnected speakers, perhaps the golden mean, can become really gold, but its searches will start at a pleasant price mark.
Prices
In the minimum configuration: from 669 732 rubles.
Price with automatic transmission: from 843 932 rubles.
Maximum configuration: 897 532 rubles.
Wheels recommend: Intense equipment with Super-Elect all-wheel drive, mechanical gearbox and a good level of equipment for 803 732 rubles.
Compared to the previous model, the new L200 has become a little softer and friendly, but this did not stop being a purebred SUV. The new spar frame is 50% more stubbornly resisted by twisting, and in its front part a section is built, which absorbs energy during the frontal impact.
An obsolete steering control of the screw-gay type finally took its place in the annals of history, yielding to the rack. An independent anterior two-leaf on the springs, instead of torsion, made the front door to a smoother, and differently fixed springs in an uncertain rear bridge significantly increased cross-country ability.
The angles of the entrance and ramp have become a little less, apparently, now the assault on the vertical walls will be unavailable. But in Mitsubishi, they can afford to have any shortcomings?!
There, in Japan, they know well what the Russian buyer needs. At least, for an independent choice, we have been left a little: only 2.5-liter turbodieses Double CAB (with four doors), with two types of checkpoints and the same number of all-wheel drive systems are taken in the Russian Federation.
And as an alternative to the dynamically obsolete Easy-Elect system with a rigidly connected front bridge in the upper versions, a more effective Super-Elect system is offered with the ability to block the central and rear differentials.
However, the Mitsubishi L200 has advantages that pop up earlier than the asphalt ends. Naturally, this is his appearance. Yes, it is not at all necessary to bring the rural picap hard worker into ecstasy of local milkmaids with one species. But the life of the L200 began at the auto show in sunny Bologna, under the views of thousands of expensive Japanese SLRs, notories the whole world about the coming of the debutant.

In the harsh contours of the headlights, the elaborate sidewalls of the front bumper and the sweepingly emphasized pickup arches, the design of the rally Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution: ten -time prize winners of the sandy dacara races is immediately guessed. Attention in this brand leaves no doubt that the cross-country ability is still at the level.
At a glance
From the inside, the L200 appeals not to the replacement, but to the future. The form of Torpedo L200, however, is very much like Outlander XL, but the filling is still different.
The scale of the instruments, the climate control handles and the on-board computer screen glow blue, and next to the handle of mechanics (a long Outlander comes only with a machine gun) sticks the second lever of the distribution box. The quality of the finish and the materials themselves is quite worthy, but the seats are soft and deprived of lateral support. And why is she here?
L200 is controlled as a pickup. The lazy chassis is in no hurry to follow the turn of the steering wheel, and the rolls in quick turns make the course stability system (if any) immediately join in the stabilization of the L200.
The pickup is confidently standing on a straight line and does not notice certain shortcomings of the road. When the pits and the pardon become larger, the speed will have to be reduced: the shocking of the body on especially deep pits the only nuisance that will have to be put up with the speed mode. And on gravel you can afford to evaluate the charm of a symmetrical all -wheel drive.
The suspension is not threatened with holes, but passengers comfort. The brakes are predictable: for pickup, with its course of suspensions, timely stop is not a problem, even despite the rear drum mechanisms.
Yes, Mitsubishi L200 is not as comfortable as many rivals. It does not have a cruise control, expensive audio systems and even half a dozen airbags. But, easily getting out of impassable swamps, he throws competitors with the words of Vladimir Vysotsky: hey, you, the rear! Do as I do. This means not for me. This track is only mine! Get out your track ...
