Actually, the fact that many people think in the same way, indirectly confirmed one of the leaders of the Mitsubishi distributor, who noticed that so far Galant was sold a little worse than expected. It doesn’t matter what is hidden behind this a little, but it is obvious that in the first months of Russian sales, most of those who were waiting for Galant (and how they were waiting, one could feel at the Moscow car dealership: the pricens were grabbed, like expensive souvenirs), they simply did not have time Try the car on the go, and therefore, only the appearance was appreciated. And sorry for the pun apparently, they did not appreciate.


So I got behind the wheel in the not the most fun mood. But on the road it improved markedly. Firstly, a huge interior is hidden behind the controversial appearance of the car. And I sat freely, and my colleagues did not grumble at the back. This is what a car from America means is enough for everyone.
 

Secondly, all Galant management bodies are understandable and located in their places; With an abundance of options, you do not feel that you were filled with information.

The buttons in Galant are slightly more than in the lantser, despite the much more modest completion of the latter. I did not like only in the interior only to the best of a large steering wheel and do not fit into the central console of the radio key. Then the designers were again not on top.
 

Thirdly, the car pleased with comfortable details. I will note only three of different spheres: a driver's seat with an electric drive and a wide range of adjustments, understandable parking sensors and a wide armrest with a spacious box, where a barricet is easily located.

  

Fourth, and this is the main thing: Galant really liked on the go. The car is controlled just great, although the steering wheel itself is not the most convenient in girth. The engine and the box work almost perfectly, although I assume that many will want more renunciation from such a machine. To moderately a hard suspension, which provides decent comfort, pleased both in line and in corners. Mitsubishi bites on the road, maintaining good stability on any reasonable trajectory.

But for some reason I still did not want to swing the Galant at the wheel of the wheel. Perhaps because as I mentioned above it is not easy to light on it. The adaptive machine, no doubt, adapts to the driver, but does not give him excess freedom.
 

In general, I left Galant not without regret, realizing that in the near future I would have to drive mainly on closer cars. He listened again to the parctronics woman and went without looking back. Why finally spoil the impression?

The interior was made neatly, but it would be boring to come up with something more interesting. At the same time, it is worth noting the smell of the car. I have such a fad: getting into a new car, first I pay attention to how it smells like it may seem strange, but the smell of a car, like human, reports, to some extent, about its health, how high -quality materials are: is the plastics is good for the plastic Is the leather proper level. This Galant test passed with honor!
 

I move to the driver's place. In addition to a convenient seat, comfort provides good visibility and a reliable assistant in the form of a speaker truth, in English of parking sensors, Russophiles, please do not worry about starting to learn to park without hints. America saw the new Galant in April 2003, we only after 3 years. Residents of the USA and Canada can choose a 3.8-liter 230-horsepower V6, and we have only a 2.4-liter 158-horsepower unit. All the necessary knob-knuckles are concentrated on the central console and are easily accessible, the automatic box eliminates the right hand from the frequent gear shift, the sound insulation of the cabin is excellent?

 

Active drive and speed, sharpness and sports severity! This was not fully the previous one, the current Galant did not become. The leadership, with the supply of marketers, saw the demand for D-class cars and remembered Galant, skating on US roads. The Russians missed its avant -garde appearance and an attractive price, but you will have to get bored further.
 

It seems to me that Galant does not have enough MOMO sports steering wheel, which is offered to the LANCER: the standard steering wheel is not only large, but also devoid of the desired acuteness. In a 90-degree turn, the hands have to be torn off from the place of the grip, and with active rotation of the steering wheel, the latter is bite. The dynamics of the engine are quite enough to move around the city, but nothing more: acceleration is smooth, and even the manual automatic transmission practically does not change the nature of acceleration.

  

It is pleasant that the machine independently lowers the transmission as necessary, and the increase leaves the driver. In addition, if the driver temporarily releases the accelerator pedal, then the sequential transmission does not switch to the highest level, and if the gas is opened at the exit from the turn, the automatic transmission will not go to a low, as the usual automatic box would do.
 

The engine cannot be called very powerful, but it is worth a little overdo it, as the wheels are instantly slipped. Especially on at least a little slippery coating. At the same time, the car willingly obey the driver, correctly responding to the opening and closing of gas. And just as easily he goes into skidding at the most allowed speeds, even new expensive Finnish rubber does not save
 

It's a shame: the car could have become better. Under the hood there could be a 3.8-liter motor and a mechanical transmission, beginning drivers would be glad to ESP.
