The updated Viano has been available to the general public at the end of September at an exhibition of commercial transport in Hanover since December. The company Mercedes-Benz Rus decided to evaluate the novelty by organizing a test drive in the native elements of a mini-van of a representative class in the center of Moscow

The update is really long -awaited. The last cardinal change in MB Viano underwent with his younger brother Vito in 2004. The term for cars of this class is quite large. Probably, the world economic crisis played an important role here.

The current update is not as large as the previous one, it can rather be defined as facelifting. The new generation of Viano is easy to recognize in the crowd cars by changed bumpers and a radiator grille. Changes also affected the form of the block-far of the head lighting. Moreover, in the kit with bixenon headlights, Viano will be equipped with a turning lighting function and LED lamps of running lights. The rear stop-signals did not ignore. The rear -view mirrors with the interpreters of rotation indicators integrated in them also acquired a new form. The freshness of the new product is designed to give an expanded spectrum of color colors. But these are all external insignificant details, the main changes are inside the mini-wen.

A new generation of power units is installed on the updated Viano model line. All engines, without exception, will meet the strict environmental norms of Euro 5. With regard to diesel engines, this will be sold due to the use of a catalytic neutralizer, solid particles filter and re -coolation recirculation systems. It is worth noting that the top version of the diesel engine now develops 224 hp, that is, 20 forces more than before. The dynamic characteristics of this Viano are also impressive: in order to exchange the first hundred, he will need a little more than 9 seconds. In a gasoline segment, the update occurred without an increase in volume: it is a modernized six with a working volume of 3.5 liters. The modified engine line will work paired with a six -speed mechanical Eco Gear CP with a short first gear (I \u003d 5.076), which allows you to start without problems even with a loaded trailer, and a long sixth (I \u003d 0.675), which will contribute to fuel saving when moving to Magistral mode. A five -speed automatic transmission, which is included in the basic configuration of Viano 3.0 CDI and Viano 3.5, will also be optionally available.

It has become even easier to manage Viano. Conducting modernization, the engineers did not forget about the improvement of the chassis of the mini-wen. The changes affected not only the qualities of components, but also the settings of the front and rear independent pendants. Thanks to this, the car has excellent maneuverability and good controllability even at fairly high speeds.

The interior also became better. Now the Viano salon decorates the four-spoke steering wheel, like on C-class models. As you know, coziness consists of little things, and Daimler engineers paid due attention to them. The changes were subjected to, for example, guides, along which chairs are moved inside the cabin, lighting details and much more. In addition, the driver and passengers will delight new options for the upholstery of the seats, both fabric and with the skin of NAPP. The noise insulation of the salon is strengthened by the large number of Viano owners of the previous generation expressed complaints about this aspect.

In general, it can be said that the designers managed to preserve the conservative style inherent in the German brand, and at the same time equip the mini-ven by the latest technology, including in terms of security systems.
