Although officially the car was first introduced in April at the Beijing Auto Show, already in May in London the film shows with an autovka as a production playing began. And here, of course, you can argue who in the world more - Chinese who generally love cars, or women who specifically crave sex. Only one thing remains undoubted: the world advertising campaign of the new Mercedes-Benz SUV was built around the film about four girlfriends.
A small car - a women's car - a female car filled only a Russian consumer, in Europe and the male floor it is not shameful to flaunt a modest size, good talk about the car. Moreover, GLK is the fifth SUV in the Stuttgart family, here you can experiment with the promotion of goods on the market. However, not everything is as clear as it seems at first glance.
The full -length completion of a more than a successful series can hardly be called triumphal. The heroines who had previously tried to prove that female happiness was not a synonym for family happiness at all in the final chord chose to hear the notes of the wedding march. An alternative to marriage was loneliness, which looked, for example, like an evenings in front of a telecom with a glass of fast food noodles. But the rules are good with exceptions. And so, a minute to the credits, we see Samantha. She has a birthday-she, surprisingly, turns fifty, she left a handsome lover of her own free will, who, if not twice younger than her, is one and a half, and in her free search she is again happy. She is still longing sex - it seems that the only famous four, whose names sound like a children's counteise: Carrie - Charlotte - Miranda - Samantha. It is Samantha who knows the joy of the possession of GLK.
Although the advertising message, of course, is not laid so deeply. No matter how mediocre the movie turns out, his main dignity is the stylist Patricia Field. It was thanks to her that the film acquired one of its main advantages - style. Speaking of sex in a big city, they always mention that this story is not so much about sex, love and relationships as about fashion. And GLK in this context is positioned not so much as a female car as a stylish car. Fashion is a special fad Mercedes-Benz. It got to the point that the brand has its own fashionable face - one of the most popular German models Eve Padberg. And for several years now in different cities of the world (New York, Berlin, ETC.), Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week has been held.
When the emergence of a small SUV from Mercedes was just announced, for some reason, something rounded like A- or B-Klasse has come to many. But to smooth out the outlines-not in the rules of fashion shows, where the fashion designers set trends for a couple of years to come, and the audience altings of something bold. GLK came out very angular - see how the hood and windshield are not smoothly interconnected, for example. In profile, the car looks like a light car was put on large wheels and made a roof higher. The silhouette somehow looks like a London Kab or even a cargo-passenger body, which in our country is traditionally called a heel. By the way, the journalistic test drive Mercedes-Benz GLK was not arranged somewhere, but in Dusseldorf, the capital of the German fashion, where the largest exhibitions-fairs of the Igedo Fashion Fairs are held twice a year, where the headquarters of the authoritative Academy of Fashion is located, and on Koenigsalle in the eyes of the rowan from Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel, Jil Sander's signs ... Koroboks with such inscriptions in GLK really fit in the film-they did not participate in the film. The volume of the trunk is 450 liters. If you move the back of the back seat forward, then you will get an almost flat platform with a volume of 1550 liters and almost 168 cm in length - you can even use a place for joint lying, unless, of course, the gentleman is in tall. To help shopping-serially installed loops for attaching baggage, hooks for bags and hooks for clothing, as well as an 86-liter cavity hidden from prying eyes under the folding bottom of the luggage compartment. As options, you can order protective nets so that the load does not jump on the bumps, and the electric drive of the rear door - so as not to spoil the manicure.
The off-road route prepared for the test seemed to be somewhat minor: small bumps and holes. From the point of view of the playwright of product promotion - everything is very logical. According to the film, Samantha lives in Los Angeles, and theoretically it may well have come up with the idea to arrange an unusual date in the mountains of Santa-stunnes-not all the same to stick around itself sushi for the sharpness of impressions. True, what we saw in Germany, in California, probably not to find - buuse with logs sticking out of them, deep puddles with muddy water. It’s just some pristine German forest where hungry and unfortunate Genzel and Gretel wandered.
However, Bueri is easily explained: Mercedes-Benz considers one of the most important markets for GLK not America at all, but Russia, where the dozens of the ace of a doe above are described. And in fact, GLK was very good on this off -road. The road clearance in 201 mm allowed not to tickle the belly with snags, but very short front and rear overhangs - to climb and move off the hillocks without clinging to them with a bumper. Although a woman from Gucci is unlikely to think of experimenting with diagonal posting wheels and other tricks.
We had a version with an off -road package. You press the Off Road button on the central console, the gas pedal becomes softer, and the electronic stabilization systems will allow the wheels a slightly larger slip. In addition, you can fix the first gear with a steering wheel switch so that the machine does not switch up and better pulls from the jam. When descending from the mountain, we turn on the DSR system, which automatically maintains a given speed on steep slopes. Others also have such systems, but Mercedes gives the driver the opportunity to add-reducing speed in the range between 4 and 18 km/h using a cruise control lever during the descent. Finally, GLK has another wonderful off -road system that will allow you to find yourself on the asphalt again if Off Road Exrasions suddenly lead to a dead end. Comand APS - an additional function of the navigation system, like Ariadne’s thread, will return the lost car along the already traveled path. The main thing is to find a place where to turn around.
The top model GLK 350, like other versions, has a seven-speed automatic 7G-Tronic automatic box and a constant full-wheel drive 4matic. Only the maximum speed here is 20 km/h larger than that of GLK 280, and 10 km/h - than that of the CDI 320. And overclocking is more dynamic - by 0.9 and 0.8 s, respectively. Already a rich basic package can be expanded by a sport package for the exterior, a sports package for the interior, a styling package for an SUV or a technical package of an SUV. Plus, the selection of options traditionally accessible to cars of a higher class, such as leather, in which any C-Klasse user will feel at home, or an entertainment system for rear passengers. In any case, when ordering a complete set, you can get the same amount of pleasure and spend as much money as the heroines of sex in a big city on New York shopping usually received and spent.
