Looking at the new XC60, willy-nilly you are imbued with respect for Volvo designers: something, but they have learned to create beautiful cars, in the last decade there are continuous hits in the apple! The same applies to elaboration of interiors. Obviously, the desire of the concern to get into the premium segment, but without fanaticism and excesses. The only options with which the XC60 is stuffed in the assortment, all kinds of sensors and radars, disagreeing, a distance from a walking car and blind areas on the sides.

And, I must say, it was on this test that I had an episode, after which I seriously regretted that I did not go to Volvo at that moment. In front of Toyota Corolla, which was moving in front of me along one of the Moscow streets, something happened, and exactly at that moment, as for evil, I was distracted by a bright window of a second confusion store that the Japanese sedanka overtook the Mercedes GLK and defeated the file part . GLK damage turned out to be less fatal, but this calms down weakly. The Volvo accident would probably be able to avoid, because the electronics is very warning, and the time won would probably be enough to stop the car. In general, jokes jokes, but with each of us a similar nuisance can happen, and against this background Volvo policies, aimed at developing active security systems, no longer looks like paranoia who suffers from a mania of persecution.

Again, I was lucky. During our test, we managed to travel on two modifications of Volvo XC60: with a T6 gasoline engine and a D5 turbodiesel. Believe me, these are two different cars! If the first volvo is light and mobile, literally soars over the road, then with the second yes, there is acceleration, but everything happens through force, stepping on the throat. In addition, the torque stumbles on a thoughtful automatic machine, and often accelerate late, immediately recall typical jokes about slightly inhibited Scandinavians

Well, under the curtain a few words about the suspension. Traditionally for Volvo, it is not on the XC60. Claims do not arise only on ideal asphalt, but on broken roads everything rummages and does not work out the blows of fate. We repeat that not only the XC60, but also the XC90, S80, V50 and, a little less, XC70, so that this is a distinctive feature of the brand with which, apparently, it is proposed to come to terms with incontinence. I'm cramped here! Even taking into account the lack of obvious flaws in ergonomics, only a medium -sized person without a drop of excess weight can accommodate. The car hugs a more significant body from all sides. The head risks getting out into the roof hatch, can this be a large -scale FX model for students of elite universities?

There is no need to talk about practicality: in the second row of seats with decent spatial comfort, only children will be placed, but where did the three children get the children from? All this is true, however, of course, it is possible to evaluate Infiniti Ex from a utilitarian point of view, but this is not entirely correct. It is different for another: the car is built around the motor and for the sake of the motor. Only one who will not be able to realize the potential of 302 horses will continue to oldly grumble about cramped and impractical after the trip.

When snow or asphalt lies on the streets, it is not as easy to cope with the EX as with other fates of our comparison. The motor that breaks the car from the place, like a gust of wind, causes a feeling of natural disaster: Infiniti skills at every energetic start. The stabilization system in its struggle with demolitions and drifts allows tangible slides, and the steering wheel is torn from your hands will not relax. The engine power does not compensate for slippery coatings and well-tuned, in sporting assembled suspension that makes control of sharp, and reactions are quick. However, all this is true only until you guess to put the car into snow mode. Its activation puts everything in its place, making ex simple and flexible.

The new Q5 is no exception, there are no new features and finds in it, no matter how you look, everything is familiar to boredom! Even compared to the ancestor of the first generation, the first generation genre, the car is simpler, more boring and mild.

The interior is also made in the spirit of all other Audi: compare with A4 or, for example, with A6. There are practically no differences, everything is familiar and convenient, like homemade slippers. A more impeccable salon in convenience and ergonomics than Audi, do not find, and they are not looking for good from good, why change something?

But the habits of the mini-conservation were puzzled. It seems to be clear and accurate, the machine is controlled instinctively, literally by force, as if it is a continuation of its own body, but the driver is not trusted, the non -closed stabilization system does not allow enjoying the perfectly configured chassis. A pleasant toy is the opportunity to configure the character of the car for yourself. Everything is adjusted: the rigidity of the suspension, and the severity of the steering reactions, and even the sensitivity of the accelerator pedal!

You can ride Mercedes both quickly and aggressively, and even enjoy it, but the desire to fuss at itself will pass, and very quickly this atmosphere.

If at the same Infiniti and Audi it is very difficult to resist the temptation to violate the speed mode, then you can go through GLK all your life and never seriously exceed the permitted limits! And, by the way, despite such a Nordic character, it was GLK that turned out to be the most gambling and predictable on the ice of Khodynka, remaining extremely predicted and controlled at any speed. Electronics, if you turn it off, adjusts the driver’s actions only if it is already obvious that the glide is uncontrollable.

But from the smoothness of the course, I expected more. The feeling of comfort is achieved by the fact that Mercedes ignores small bumps, but it still grazes on larger suspension.
