Test drive Mercedes-Benz E 200 CGI: Demanding “Baby” from business class

The columnist Kolesa.ru spent several days in the leather chair of the Mersedes-benz E200, feeling the whole warmth of the three-beam star, felt the comfort and care of the designer-engineering composition of Mercedes, and for some reason even sympathized with the owners of such cars

Mercedes should be a sedan. At least a chain, but better Eshka. Yes, the last, two hundred twelfth Eshka, preferably in the AMG -kind and, necessarily, fashionable white color - just right!

And lo and about a miracle, I managed to bring such a handsome man from Moscow, and even spend three whole days with him! And it doesn’t matter that under the hood there was the weakest engine with an unusual E -class Mercedes with a litter 1.8 and a capacity of 184 horsepower, but options - as much as a million rubles.

What is a breakdown of suspension owners of Mercedes do not know. At least, I did not even recognize an Avantgarde in a more sports design, and even on 18-inch AMG with low-profile rubber, any roadway turned into a mirror. And only the purring stereo system, interrupted by the strict female voice of the navigation system, diluted landscapes silently flying outside the window.

The darker the window became, the more comfortable the Mercedes-Benz E 200 salon became.

Despite the cold neon lighting of five dials and a black angular interior, gently flowing from under the aluminum panels of a warm light, created a unique atmosphere of the hearth. Why, damn it, there was no checkered plaid and an adventure book in the trunk?!

Well, if not books, then at least an adventure film on the screen of a multimedia system equipped with a DVD player and a TV tuner. However, a strict and wise German does not allow to be distracted from the road, turning off the picture with the slightest movement of the car. And right, because you can forget that you are in a car that is currently moving faster than 100 km/h can easily.

All my actions to manage the German miracle of technology came down to rare turns of the steering wheel. And that's it. The rest of the snow-white Mercedes-Benz E200 did himself. Our sedan was equipped with an active cruise control of Distronic Plus, which knows how not only to keep a given speed, but also maintain a speed mode to ahead of the coming car, and if necessary to slow down on its own until a complete stop and, conversely, expans when the barrier will see the approaching and flashingly flashing and flashing Fast light sedan. How I will travel along the tracks without this thing, now I just can’t imagine.
You quickly get used to the good, but with Mercedes Benz E-class especially.

The road, by the way, was freed very often. Seeing the rear view mirror with a three-beam sight with xenon guidance, the old Lada and the black tinted jeeps without license plates were rebuilt from the left row ... Here it is, magic Mercedes-Benz!

Having spent nine hours driving, and having arrived at the beginning of the second in the morning to the house, I revealed the first drawback of the E200 Mercedes at a price of three million rubles: it was scary to leave the road under the window, and go to the guarded parking two kilometers from the house, returning back on foot lazily. Laziness won. No, nothing terrible with the car happened overnight, however, I went to bed with a restless heart, jumping to an open window with every suspicious sound.
Despite the fact that E-Class W212 has been sold in Russia since 2009 and has been found regularly on St. Petersburg roads, attention is paid to my car. A winning white color with a black roof of a panoramic two-section hatch and a body kit of the AMG court atelier do their black and white. The driver of the W203, which stopped in the oncoming traffic jam, drilled a hole in my white handsome, noticing my gaze, nodded approvingly. Understands
No matter how much strength is under a long hood Mercedes E-Class 184 or 388 I don’t want to rush to it anywhere.

The car immediately has a steppe driving and in this sense is an excellent anti -stress medicine. Even idle in an eternally annoying road sample, I catch myself thinking that I am not late, but just linger a little.

The 1.8-liter turbo engine, in principle, is enough, but its power cannot be called excess. Putting the floor gas pedal to the floor is reflected in a small delay in a five-speed machine and further smoothly intensive acceleration. Behind the normative value of 100 km/h, the speedometer arrow is 8.5 seconds after 235 km/h its path around the display of the route computer ends. By the way, unlike their atmospheric counterparts, the transmission switch of which is made in the form of a steering wheel switch, the automatic lever in E200, as in E250, is traditional and is located on the central tunnel.

And yet, Mercedes is not for me. The first euphoria from universal attention was replaced by a feeling of myself in the inhabitant of the zoo: I was tired of the envious views of others, considering the car at first, and then my very inner voice shouted all the time: this is not my car, I was just allowed to ride! Tired of the constant experience for the car, left even at the supermarket: they will not steal, they will be scratched. Yes, and I was also tired of walking for a paid parking lot. Mersedes-Benz, like a small child, secretly demanded to constantly be next to him. And I am not ready for paternity. But, without regret, returning the Mercedes, he knew for sure: I would miss him

The price of the Mercedes-Benz E200 CGI Blue Efficency in a special series starts from a mark of 1,730,000 rubles. True, the table of additional equipment of the tested car will be envied by the table of contents of a different technical encyclopedia of 60 positions (!). We will call the most interesting of them:
