Mazda2 became 5.5 cm lower and shorter by 4 cm. The wheelbase remained the same. As a result, more powerful engines are required for the expanded machines, which, of course, does not affect fuel economy in the best way. But Mazda2 has a complete order with this. The car losing weight per 100 kg consumes in a mixed cycle only 6 liters of 95th gasoline. Diesel will envy such consumption. You can’t call the dynamics of the debutant outstanding, but it is not required from the city machine. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 10.4 s. But it is worth remembering that versions with an automatic transmission will go to Russia. Therefore, acceleration will be slower. Two hares will not be able to kill: either savings or dynamics. But the beautiful ladies will have to dirty their hands less often at these nasty gas stations.
In the spring of next year, Mazda2 will go on sale, which will become the cheapest car in the lineup of the Japanese manufacturer. In the August issue 5 of the wheel, the first test of the novelty was published in the conditions of the auto policy. Now the turn has come to test the baby in the city and on high -speed tracks. True, there is one thing but in our country will be imported kopecks not only with mechanical, but also with automatic transmission. This option is created specifically at the request of Russian marketers. In Europe, such a configuration will simply not be. The first cars with the automatic transmission will appear no earlier than the end of winter, but for now we are forced to be content with only the manual version. Other Russian features are available to the battery of a larger capacity and heating of the seats, which is included in the standard equipment.
In principle, the sensations from the Mazda2 control on the landfill only strengthened on ordinary roads. The car holds the road perfectly, allowing the driver to maneuver even at very high speeds. By very high speeds, we mean 160 km/h, to which we managed to accelerate on a public highway. The maximum speed of a small Mazda equipped with a 1.5-liter engine is 188 km/h. At the same time, acceleration to hundreds takes 10.4 s.
The Mazda2 salon can be estimated at the hard four. In it, as in other models, family features like six -sized ventilation holes and a three -spoke steering wheel are guessed. The front panel plastic was somewhat upset, which seems too cheap. The upholstery of seats could also be more fun, because among potential buyers the majority of a woman. Otherwise, the interior design is fresh and original.
Mazda2 will enter our market in two trim levels: Touring and Sport. The first option with a manual KP, for which they will ask for $ 16,300, includes the front seats, front electric windows, electric power plants, CD-player with MP3, 15-inch steel discs, ABS + EBD, as well as six airbags. You will have to pay $ 1200 for the machine. The SPORT version has a climate control, four electric windows of all glasses, a leather steering wheel, fog lights, an on-board computer, a 16-inch alloy discs and a DSC system. The price has not yet been determined, but dare to assume that Sport will be more expensive than a Touring thousand for two dollars.
Why did the Japanese manufacturer decide to sell Mazda2 in Russia? The fact is that the segment B, to which the debutant belongs, demonstrated the largest growth in our market. So, people want to purchase such cars. True, the Japanese are the Japanese: they are not going to rush into the pool with their heads. The quota for the next year is only two thousand pieces. This can be understood as follows: we’ll sell it off again. In other words, Mazda2 does not claim to be a bestseller. Most likely, it will be a successful addition to popular three-tires, sixes and CX-7.
Driving
Management of Mazda2, one might say, is close to the ideal. The car holds the road well even in very dynamic modes.
Salon
The upholstery of the salon and the material of the front panel could be more expensive. It's a shame.
Comfort
A spacious salon does not seem cramped. It will suit both fragile girls and well -fed men. Another word, unisex.

Our opinion
Mazda2 will not become the main model of the Japanese company in our market. She will take a place for a good seasoning for the main dish. But this does not mean that the new model is not awaiting success. True, in order not to take risks, the Japanese installed a meager quota for Russia. And it is possible that multi -month queues will be built behind the kopeckoy.
