Test Drive Mazda BT-50 since 2010 Pickup

Mazda presented a restyled version of the WT-50 model

Mazda presented a restyled version of the WT-50 model. In the new Picap, nothing has changed. Springs, body, four-wheel drive left in their places. Raise your hand who is happy. Satisfied with those who have already bought or only want to purchase this pickup.
But asking for owners and fans. Liberate business. They do not see their eyes, but the ears do not hear. Will with plasticine of their subjective opinion. And any uncixed person asks: why did not add the driver's seat adjustment in height? After all the place above the head.
Almost all pickups of this class, excluding SsangYong Actyon Sports, suffer to one disadvantage of a person just above the average growth have to raise his knees to the ears, sitting at the wheel. But we never treated the main market for pickups. Major sales come to Southeast Asia, and there are very few people above the middle growth. Therefore, we will enjoy the new grille of the radiator, the leather arm of the steering wheel and changed devices, because they deserve the numbers large and read well. Just for all this will have to pay from 7 to 14 thousand rubles, depending on the package of the car. By the way, the cheapest version costs 644 thousand rubles (with metallic), and the most expensive 869 thousand.

Mitsubishi Recently, on the contrary, reduced prices for their L200 by 7%, and although Mazda is still cheaper, the difference in marketing strategies is obvious. By the way, why Mitsubishi sells 2.5 times more of his pickups in the Russian market? Magic phrase box-machine hypnotizes L200 buyers, and another permanent four-wheel drive that allows you to drive 4x4 all year round.
Presentation of restyled W-50, the Japanese to the question of Russian journalists, will soon wait for the automatic transmission, they answered mysteriously and non-specific. In Australia, at least now, and in Russia someday, maybe. But buyers do not like to wait. The Mazda automatic box will not be superfluous because of the torque on the bottom of the standard 25 liter diesel engine as much as I would like. The hydrotransformer will add traction, especially since the car, according to the Russian Mazda Marketing Manager, is designed for hyphenation.

All other issues of domestic journalists on the presentation concerned the maintenance and disgusting work of dealers. Sad fact for owners: the frequency of oil change on the WT-50 diesel engine is only 5 thousand km (for comparison: Mitsubishi L200 15 thousand km, Nissan NP-300 10 thousand km). Save on the diesel fuel to overpaid on that. In our diesel fuel, the high content of sulfur: falling into the oil, it forms acid and corrosive the engine from the inside. The Japanese cannot do anything with it. But they could affect dealers. Mazda never talked with Russian car dealers, but the fact that the owners told, terrible. It seems that our sellers have a special program for the destruction of regular customers along with their attachments and dignity. Strange, but journalists complained about the dealers only by Russian Mazda managers, and set the question directly to the Japanese shy. In vain. In such cases, modesty does not decorate.

Especially for offended sellers I want to remind: the concept of an official dealer in Russian legislation is absent. If you are not satisfied with the prices and quality of service, you are entitled to contact any service that has a license for repair and maintenance of cars. And if at the same time the official will refuse to warranty to you, then this is a direct violation of the law on the protection of consumer rights and the Civil Code and punishable by a very serious penalty. And there is nothing to be shy here.
But we will not be about sad, because, despite the low seat and strange dealers, the Pickup W-50, in my opinion, still the best truck in its class on the Russian market today.
