And while I took, as they say, a wait -and -see position, the car went as softly, as graceful as only Lexus could do. At a low speed, the torque of the engine is so large that if you wish, you can only press the accelerator a little, without making pushing to the floor (which is called Kick Down), and the machine will certainly begin to accelerate intensively. And nothing that the tachometer will show no more than 1,000 revolutions per minute, everything will go exactly as I said. Only then, when the revolutions reach about 2,000 per minute, a 8-speed automatic box will come to life, called Sport Direct Shift, it will turn on the next speed, and then along the chain.
If you press the accelerator properly, everything will begin to develop in a completely different scenario. In particular, somewhere after the tachometer arrow exceeds 3 and a half thousand revolutions per minute, the sound from the absorbed air, which goes in front, sharply goes into a higher tonality. And most importantly, the torque increases dramatically, and the impression is as if the engine was holding, holding it all in himself, and then he was simply unbearable, and he, as they say, broke through. At first, I could not get comfortable with manual switching too quickly the speed of revolutions took place.
