So the long test of the Kia Ceed hatchback came to the end, which spent a little more than a month in our ranks.

Despite the impressive age, Korean hatchback is still popular in the Russian market. However, already in April, the new generation of Kia Ceed, which will open a new page of history for the first European hatchback of KIA, will start on the conveyor of the Kalinigrad plant Autotor.

In the meantime, at our disposal there are only a little general information and several official photos that the automaker distributed a couple of weeks before the start of the auto show in Geneva in order to warm up the public interest in his main novelty.

According to our information, the new Kia Ced will receive a completely new body, however, as before, SID will share one platform with the Hyundai i30. The design of the novelty was redesigned taking into account the modern model range Kia. Now in the style of CEED, the features of the budget sedan Rio and the strokes of the stylish optima are also guessed.

In addition to the appearance, the new KIA CEED will also receive a completely redesigned exterior, in which much attention was paid to improving the quality of the finishing materials. A new steering wheel, a panel of devices, as well as a fully tilted central console will appear in the Hatchtbek salon. In the list of equipment, the appearance of a mass of new options, electronic systems and interior decoration is expected. Such changes are necessary to compete in a popular segment.

As for the range of power units, this information will appear only with the premiere of the new Kia Ced in Geneva. However, now there are assumptions that the car will save the motor line of its predecessor, but all the units in it will be modernized, and will also become more economical and environmentally friendly. A six -speed mechanics will remain in the list of available transmission, and an outdated four -band machine will be replaced with a more modern box with six steps.

It is expected that with the advent of a three -door modification of a sid called Pro_ceed, this model will be tried to separate as much as possible from the rest of the gamut. It is possible that specially for Kia Pro_ceed will be a developed charged modification, which will be equipped with a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine with a capacity of 208 hp, borrowed from a powerful version of the Hyundai Veloster.

The debut of the new Kia Ceed in the European market will take place in the summer of this year. Then the novelty will appear in Russia. The station wagons should debut coming autumn, and the three -door Pro_ceed will have to wait until 2013.

Judging by the photos presented, we can say that Kia Ceed will be popular in our market. As for the degree of this popularity, it will become known about it along with the announcement of Russian prices, which, according to the general trend of updating the Kia modeling range, will become higher.
