The first Hyundai H-1 appeared in 1996. Then there was a second generation, now the turn has reached the third. At the same time, we are dealing with a fundamentally new car, where everything looks different: appearance, salon, and the entire technical part. The exterior of the first, yes, perhaps the second generation in today's realities seems obsolete. The new H-1 seemed to throw an expensive, okayed jacket. Of course, it was not without copying elements, but it was done neatly and with taste. Yes, and it makes no sense to reinvent the bike.
So, about the design. It turned out to be restrained-strict. Large head optics, stuffy wheel arches, an abundance of additional stamping, giving the body of dynamism. The new appearance is very universal. Thanks to the work of car artists from Korea, this Hyundai is suitable as a family car, it can be a service car for the boss or deliver employees to the airport. The novelty has several types of bodies, but so far only one version of the eight -seater passenger with complete glazing is available in Russia.
There are only two sets, and the differences between them are insignificant. To the abundant list of basic options, such as airbags, ABS+EBD, disk brakes for all wheels and cast discs, the ESP stabilization system, rudder and lever KP, sliding windows for rear passengers, as well as the possibility of a two -tone, are added to the top version, the decoration of the ESP. You do not have to choose from engines. Hyundai H-1 is available with only one CRDI diesel engine. Its volume is 2.5 liters. With a mechanical KP, Hyundai H-1 accelerates very briskly. The programs are turned on clearly, though the moves of the KP lever are long. Tests at the Dmitrov Auto Poligon confirmed a successful selection of transfer numbers. According to the passport, acceleration to 100 km/h should occupy 14.5 s. In fact, a minibus weighing 2400 kg gains the first hundred faster for 11.9 s. An excellent result, given the mass and the fact that diesel is located under the hood.
An important factor, of course, is handling. It is especially relevant for large cars applying for work as corporate transport. Our measurements have shown that Hyundai H-1 has tooth manageability. Given the dimensions and mass, it quite willingly performs maneuvers. On a short stop, the minibus showed not a very high input speed of 60 km/h. But at the exit, the speed was 45 km/h. And what is most interesting, this figure has not changed even in a loaded state. Slalle is overcome at a speed of 52 km/h, and a long rearrangement of 118 km/h. Good indicators for the bus. But it was not without a spoon of tar. The power steering does not cope with the loads. It quickly is heavier with frequent alternating loads, and with sharp maneuvering it is completely bitten. It is necessary to be prepared for this.
The weak side of the minibus is brakes. The norms are observed: with 100 km/h mini-ven stops for 42 m, with 140 km/h for 80 m. But with intense and prolonged braking, brake discs are prone to overheating. Naturally, the effectiveness is slightly reduced. If I had to brake sharply, then it is better to adhere to a calm pace. Soon the brakes are cooled, they are all disc and ventilated.
But you have to go quickly on a minibus infrequently, so comfort comes to the fore. Its component part is no doubt noise insulation. This indicator deserves praise. At idle, the sound in the cabin does not exceed 50 dB, and in the most noisy mode of movement in third gear reaches 74 dB, which does not exceed the norm.
Summing up, first of all, I want to say about two undoubted advantages of the novelty. Firstly, we are really dealing with the novelty, since the H-1 is completely unlike their predecessors. Secondly, the minibus differs from the nearest competitors with an acceptable price with good quality of execution.
Correspondence of time
Any new car must comply with the standards of both quality and technology. This is especially true for brands that are in the top of sales. The new generation of the Hyundai H-1 minibuses has a solid body and chassis design. A single-volume body has a developed design with programmed elements of deformation, which contribute to an increase in the degree of safety and a decrease in the load on passengers during a traffic accident. Pillows of safety pillows are also responsible for the safety of passengers. There are both front and lateral ones here. Considering that H-1 is a minibus and planting in it is appropriate, the driver’s airbags and the front passenger are double. Active safety, namely the brake system, is primarily represented by disc brakes in front and rear.
