Hyundai Grandeur test drive since 2005 sedan
Grandious breakthrough
A few years ago, the largest sedan in the Hyundai model line was Sonata. Several generations of these machines were produced, and all of them were sold well. However, Sonata still cannot be considered a full-fledged car class. Here are enterprising Koreans and decided to break up in order to get a more solid status. Not so long ago, fans of the brand could already evaluate the new sedan with the NF index, now the turn of the largest sedan in the Hyundai line -up - a car with a romantic name Grandeur.
It is worth noting that the appearance of the newfangled sedan is very positive. The car looks especially solid in black. In addition, we also got the test machine with tinted glasses, which only adds solidity. The strict squint of bright xenon eyes, smooth lines and body contours - only an abundance of red in the rear light causes some bewilderment: too pretentious. Quite solid 17-inch wheels nevertheless give out the Korean origin of the car. However, this is so, nit -picking, because such problems are solved in the blink of an eye by selecting more stylish wheels
Inside Grandeur is quite warm and comfortable. A leather salon, all possible and impossible electroregulations, climate control, music in general, all in an adult way. The curtain on the rear window is automatically removed when the rear gear is turned on, and then returned back - like the solid BMW and Mercedes. A new V6 engine of 3342 cm3 presented a couple of years ago is a special pride of Koreans. This motor is specially designed for the North American market and easily digests 92nd gasoline. In addition, having a torque of 304 Nm, this fiery heart easily accelerates nearly two -ton fraud to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds. Moreover, this process occurs with the participation of a 5-speed automatic transmission. The maximum speed declared by the manufacturer is 237 km/h. In the steering control, a certain symbiosis was found between severity and handling. Grandeur is not sharp, like a razor, but not a rabbit, but assembled on the road. A little cotton brakes have a very expensive diameter of the brake discs - 30.3 cm in front and 28.4 cm from behind.
The Americanized Hyundai and eats fuel purely in American - with the declared consumption of 15 liters in the city cycle in practice below 17, it does not fall. The appetite, of course, is immodest, but let it be the biggest problem for the consumer.
Of course, a picky reader will ask: what, are there no shortcomings at all? Of course, there are, but they are insignificant. In order not to blame bias, I will note a couple of moments. Firstly, the radio control buttons on the torpedo clearly look much smaller than the car itself. Secondly, the pillows of all seats are really short. That is, if a top manager decides to use Hyundai Grandeur as an official car with a driver, then it is unlikely that it will work out on the back sofa. Personally, I traveled to all passenger places and I can say with confidence: if there is a driver at the wheel, I will choose a front passenger seat. Only there I managed to get a job quite comfortable. Nevertheless, given the cost of the car, all these shortcomings cannot be considered serious at all.
Nevertheless, I liked the new Hyundai Grandeur. Modestly and tastefully. When the car bathed in foam on one of the capital's sinks before shooting, the owner of the ultramoded Ferrari of the last model approached us. The dialogue was as follows:
- What kind of beast?
- New Hyundai Grandeur
- Yah? Did the Koreans have learned to make such cars? And what, right now you can go and buy?
- Well, yes
- Cool! I want that!
So what do we have in the end? An excellent, stylish and reliable Korean production car, which goes clearly with his own money and having a five -year guarantee of the manufacturer. This car is suitable for someone who does not want to be a standard character sitting in the bowels of the 220th body. Yes, there will be no luxurious Maybach bells and whistles. But are they needed? Yes, and the head will not root for such a car. And even if Grandeur is still far from Mercedes or BMW, but nevertheless this is not the budget Korean car to which most Russians managed to get used to. Get out, gentlemen
