Going to the Hummer H3 test, we expected to see a small SUV. Most likely, we reasoned, it would be a little more Cherokee and a little less trailblazer. H3 is really small, but ... only against the background of their older relatives. Otherwise, this is the same Hummer H2. Huge shiny radiator grille. Powerful in appearance, but already plastic bumper. Four fish (2 in front, 2 rear), for which you can hook even a tank cable. An impressive hood one in one as an older brother, just opens as a regular car. Massive doors with bobbin windows. And of course, the wheels: 16-inch, also very similar design on those that put on H2. True, in contrast to the second, they are brought over the interior dimensions and covered with powerful wings. And the spare wheel moved to the fifth door and does not occupy half the trunk, as in H2. In general, the car looks impressive and, as before, harshly.

Inside the same from the past brutality there is no trace. As they say, simply, but tasteful. Pleasant in appearance The central console is no longer moving into a huge tunnel, which in H2 divides the front row of seats into two parts. The instrument shield has become more passenger. It will no longer find a transmission oil or voltmeter temperature pointer. A steering wheel has become more civil. The air ducts of the ventilation system have greatly changed. Now these are elegant lattice, similar to those that put on their cars Volkswagen AG. It is much easier to perceive the 2-speed automatic box selection selector. But the control keys of the operation of the transmission, although they changed the appearance, are responsible for the same functions. As in H2, the choice between automatic full-wheel drive, permanent or permanent chapel with a lower transmission is carried out here by electronics. Not surprising, because on H3, this system has moved from H2.

The non-servous off-road abilities of this car, like the previous Hummer, were set at the head of the corner. The car was equipped sufficiently powerful, in 220 hp, a 5-cylinder engine capable of producing 305 nm of torque.

Yes, it is hard to keep calm when you behave the smallest today, but still Hummer. The machine provokes to a serene-jalled ride style, bordering the arrogance. Oh, how hard it is difficult to keep not going around the cork on the sidewalk or do not jump into a high curb separating the oncoming streams. After all, it is possible to do it without difficulty. Oh, how do you want to cry on broken tram paths, so that the dust hung in the air twenty minutes after the harness. Damn it, especially since everyone is looking at you: I didn't have time to get used to H3, I didn't really really see him.

But it is impossible. First, because it is the only one in Russia, and secondly, because it costs a little less than his older brother. Of course, today's price of $ 80,000 is clearly charged due to exclusivity. It is clear that a little later the car will cost as much as it should be. But now this is exactly the case, and nothing can be changed. Therefore, we do not allow yourself of liberties and move in the overall stream. Nevertheless, we are in the spotlight.

Due to the fact that the novelty, albeit slightly, but still less than H2, it became much easier to lavish in the street. And if, as a rule, the second road is inferior, then on the third you can wed up without much difficulty, and at a fairly high speed. The brakes are very grab, so much that before each intense slowdown it is worth viewing in the rearview mirror, in order not to brake the engine about your rear bumper.

As already mentioned, a powerful engine is installed on the car. In any case, it is enough to confidently accelerate the car with an equipped mass of 2132 kg. It is difficult to say exactly how long it takes to reach the turn of 100 km / h: Americans do not indicate the Americans. Feels, 1012 seconds. That is the dynamics of the car tolerable.

We consider acceptable and speed of 160 km / h, to which it was possible to disperse a car on one of the closed areas. It was possible to try to squeeze more, but at this frontier ride becomes uncomfortable. First of all, due to the fact that huge wheels and front torsion and rear spring suspensions are sufficiently difficult. Since the unsophisticated mass is large, then the handling, as well as stability, deteriorates significantly. Even minor unevenness makes the car nervously shuddering and crushing the wheels along asphalt, which does not deliver to the driver nor passengers.

In addition, due to the off-road suspension, the car very uncertainly feels at speeds in protracted turns. If a little transmit gas pedal, it is quite possible. H2 in such modes is much more stable due to the larger wheelbase, although he is far from excellence in modern standards.

Off-road qualities at the beginner are approximately the same as the older brother. And before the dad, he else to grow and grow. However, the majority of tasks that we put our experimental terrain were performed on a firm four. The only thing that the car was very confused, sand. Perhaps, we have the opportunity to disable the stabilization system, the sand and the sand would not have been for H3, but it was not completely disabled, and as soon as the smarter electronics believed that the clutch of the coating wheels becomes unstable, it limited the engine speed. Eh, if she knew how incorrectly interfere with our plans! The rest of the way off-road did not arise. It did not become a problem and a former centimeters of 40 depth, and short front and rear skes allowed to be selected ashore not only on a cannger beach.

And yet, as it seems to us, it will be difficult to meet this car away from civilization. Such cars are bought due to prestigiousness, and at the Plenuary goes on something cheaper. Surely, soon H3 will become a frequenter of those places where Bomond is going. And it does not matter that it was created, like H2, first of all for off-road. The main thing is that Hummer, as before, in fashion, and therefore, there will be demand for it. Obviously, H4, and H5 will appear on its term. However, the latter, judging by the trend, will be based on the nodes and units of all-wheel drive Fiat Panda. After all, there is no less than a car with full drive.
