Which, obviously, served as a signal for Honda. And at the end of last summer, the pilot came to us. Looking at the roughly hewright faces of his box -shaped body, you might think that Honda is cast from another dough. However, the harsh appearance of a real all -resistance is just an attempt to spend the Yankees, respecting just such utilitarian half -loads. In fact, its supporting body, an independent suspension, a permanent all -wheel drive without hard locks and a reducing pilot is almost a twin of the tribe. The same large SUV, only half a centimeter longer and one horsepower is weaker.
Yes, Subaru is more expensive than Honda for as much as 312,000 rubles. But this only brings additional intrigue to their dispute. After all, in their homeland, rivals are almost the same in prices of less than a thousand dollars.

Frankly, if I hadn’t had a company emblem on the steering wheel, I would hardly have guessed that I was in the Honda salon. Everything is somehow too simple around, artlessly. Yes, passengers up to 186 cm tall will be sustained without any problems for each other in all three rows. Of the jeeps in our market, no one definitely has such a spacious third row. And only when we went even faster, the gap increased: the aerodynamics of the grandmother's chiffonier began to affect more and more.
Nevertheless, the pilot gains 160 km/h easily and before that the limit does not force his driver to be nervous during overtaking. Do I need to go faster to such a large car? It seems hardly. Therefore, we deprive it only half of the point.
We had no complaints about the brakes of rivals. Despite the mass of more than two tons, both are slowly slow down.
For the same reason
Oddly enough, the soft suspension of the tribes thoroughly spoiled and comfort. Small bumps and holes passes the car no less smoothly than a very good business sedan. However, if it happened in the asphalt, even a shallow pothole with sharp edges, shock absorbers and springs graze, passing an unpleasant deaf knock into the salon. Worse, an uneven road or, say, paving stones of tram tracks cause a noticeable trembling in the body and on the steering wheel. However, this behavior is not news for a large machine with a clear American accent.
But the engine itself growls only at the urgent request, when you promote it over 4,500 rpm. At idle in the Subaru salon there is solemn silence. The noise insulation of the wheeled arches is good: at speeds for 140 km/h, only the howl of wind in the mirrors is heard, but not the rumble of tires.
The pilot against the background of tribes is more comfortable. Yes, with his slightly dissatisfied grunt, his motor declares himself somewhat earlier than the tachometer arrow run to 3000 rpm. But just. Incredibly, the fact of the raging stream of air breaks with its rectangular body almost as inaudibly as Subaru. And how much more collected she behaves on bumps! Having somewhat a smoothness of the course, the pilot elasticly passes through the very unfinished potholes and much less often rivals bothers his passengers with the knock of the suspension closed to the chips.

However, a very short -moving Honda suspension is designed to ride only on flat roads, preferably with a hard coating. Do not believe? For buyers who are ready to spend such an amount, the quality of the machine finish is very important. And with this, the pilot, to put it mildly, is not very good.
But the inconsistency of the price and level of the decoration of the tribe is still more striking. After all, it costs at least 1,712,000 rubles. And although it is equipped no worse than Honda, the plastic in the cabin is not at all softer.

In terms of comfort, spaciousness, controllability, it is inferior to Honda, and at the same time it is much more expensive. So until Mazda-SX-9 is on sale at the end of the year, the pilot remains the most profitable offer among large Japanese-American SUVs.
