Honda Mobilio Spike Car Review

General
The Mobilio Spike car is the third Honda machine, based on a small (by world standards) platform. Before that, I recall, there were also Honda Fit and Honda Mobilio. The car has already received a nickname garage on wheels. But this, it seems to me, is not quite understandable comparison. If you try to explain more intelligibly, then the essence of the Spike car is square forms and, accordingly, a spacious salon, and the special arrangement of the cabin because the fuel tank is hidden under the floor. This salon can accommodate a mountain bike, a snowboard, or some other sports equipment. That is, everyone freely, by his own understanding, chooses what he will use his spike. This, approximately, was set by its developers.
The model has a small amount of variations. The engine with a working volume of 1.5 liters, the transmission is the same on all modifications, namely, with a stray variator. There are only three modifications: the increased category Y, the average A and the lowest W. Each of them can have either only front -wheel drive or the drive to all 4 wheels.

Car body: even more practical
As you can guess, the machine was created on the basis of Honda Mobilio. It has the same distance between wheeled axes 290 mm more than the Honda Fit car, which allows it to be classified as cars with an elongated wheelbase. However, the Honda Mobilio salon has three rows of seats and 7 seats, and its relative of Spike is only 2 rows of seats in which only 5 people can accommodate. For those who are interested in cars, this arrangement of seats can cause some bewilderment. Yes, indeed, in the Honda Mobilio salon, the rear additional chairs are neatly folded and move under the seats of the second row. In this form, they become completely invisible. Why was it required to shoot them in an additional model? We look at the numbers: the chairs of the second row (they can be called the rear seats) in the Spike machine are laid out in one movement and go under the floor of the luggage compartment, the length of which in this case becomes 1855 mm. And in the Mobilio salon because of the seats of the third row, the second row of seats it can only be disposed of half. This, in turn, reduces the length of the department by as much as 30 cm. For example, when loading a mountain bicycle into the SPIK salon, it is easily included. But in order for it to fit into the Mobilio salon, you need to either remove the front wheels from the bicycle, or turn its steering wheel on its side. And taking into account the fact that the rear seats are divided into a ratio of 6: 4, when the three of them can be accommodated in the car, three bicycles and 3 more bags like Boston. As for the Mobilio salon, then, again, due to additional seats, their seats and backs, the seat of the second row is divided in a ratio of 5: 5. As a result, only two bicycles can be taken with you, while the cabin remains only for the driver and the front passenger. Thus, as a result of alteration of the cabin to the bicaro -row location of the seats, it became possible to increase practicality. This is the essence of the Spike car.
There is another difference between these two models. If you look at the photo, it is clearly noticeable that the appearance of Spike is perceived by a completely girlfriend. Only a square shape and an elongated wheelbase, in a word, is related, what is called Boxy Style. All the main external surfaces are made in a special way. The Spike car differs from its fellow and the features of its car, and thickened rear racks. I will not evaluate what is better, which is worse, but I’ll say for sure that this machine looks more individual and youthful.

The car is made for a real vacation
The Spike car is equipped with a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder in-line I-DSI brand engine (the same as that of Mobilio). The motor is equipped with a gas distribution system with automatically changed phases and valve opening (4 valve version). Keeping decent power at low speeds, the engine develops a large torque in the range of medium and high speeds. Speaking specifically, its power increased by 20%, and the maximum torque by 10%. Besides, the stranded variator provides for the transition to the manual speed of the speeds according to the seven -speed scheme. The switching lever is located on the steering column. My first impression of a trip on this car: a very quiet motor and a very smooth move. In conceptual terms, the machine resembles the S-MX model removed from production. But that car was the opposite: both a hard move and a noise in the cabin. In this sense, the pleasure of driving in the Spike car is much higher. As I was explained in Honda itself, the whole point is that much attention is paid to ensuring friendly relations between a person and a machine.
Having become more powerful, the engine gives the car a really frisky move. The mode of manual speed switching is especially great. It turns out such an active type of driving, which is hardly possible in the Mobilio car. At a bend, it retains direct posture, when moving in a straight line, there is no led to the side. All these moments, of course, cause positive emotions.
In a large assortment, additional equipment is offered to the machine. And even if the driver looks at the car simply as a tool, with the help of these accessories you can give the tool an individual flavor. In fact, we are talking not only about how to get from point A to point B. No, when the purpose of the trip is reached, you can deploy something like a base there (here you have a garage on wheels!) In order to make a vacation more saturated. For this, in fact, the Honda Mobile Spike car is needed, new and compact.
