Honda Jazz: Women's car?

In theory of Honda marketers, 65% of buyers of the new Jazz are young women. That is, Jazz is a female car. Having tried it on German roads, I am inclined to disagree with this.

The fact that there will be many ladies among the Jazz fans does not raise doubts. Okay, a tailored, compact pretty car will like them. But the new Honda will not seem to men not serious, toy, unworthy of their steepness, however, often imaginary. Yes, JAZZ has a small engine, only 1.4 liters (there are 1.2 more, but it will not be supplied to us), but this 100-horsepower engine is quite cheerfully dispersed by the car, according to a well-aimed expression of a colleague, on this machine not from the team You fall out. And the motor sounds perfectly, unobtrusively, not very loud, but juicy and clean. Like most engines from Honda. And the car is controlled very well: accurate, obedient, reacts vividly to the turn of the steering wheel, holds tightly in the turns, does not hang out, does not roll too much. And there is no shaking. Yes, the suspension move is not very large, but this is still a city car, and no one will even try to win the rally-raids on it. And on normal roads (by the standards of the Germans not very good) the suspension copes, does not shake much. And the programs switch well: for sure, with slight effort and clear fixation, the lever moves are short. I don’t understand why marketers believe that it is easy to ride and with pleasure only women?
More than outside
Maybe the whole thing is the size of the salon: they say, miniature ladies will sit down behind the wheel with comfort, and men, tall or, for example, with large lumps of nerves in the place of abdominal press, will not fit into a jazz format geometrically? But the car became larger, the base increased by 50 mm, width by 20 mm, and with my 187 cm I sat behind the wheel without any problems, the steering wheel and seat adjustments were enough, and the instrument panel was visible, and the visibility is good. And behind me there is enough space for the same long.
It is possible, of course, that the design or decoration of the passenger compartment will seem too playful for real men, they say, you never know what, then prove to everyone that you are normal, that you have a wife and children, and do not need any insinuations? The salon is stylish, it's true. He especially wins in comparison with the appearance of the car: the Jazz is not that bored outside, but, let's say, is quite simple and expecting. But inside everything is done with taste: a convenient and pretty steering wheel, the same as on Civic, came just right and this typewriter, the front console was made asymmetric and buttons, flywheels and indicators are placed on it in a thought -out riots. And two more glove compartment, the upper and lower, and the upper with cooling on demand. And who said that there you can only keep a mineral water for a lady sitting on a diet? Cold beer is also good food. Very easy, almost without effort, the rear seats are folded in one movement, and will the ladies like it? And what, the peasants are pleased to groan and swear, with a rattles of worships, when you need to make a two -seater with a large trunk from a five -seater car? So you can’t call the salon either to the female.
The work of the robot
But what the peasants will not like is a 6-speed robotic I-SHIFT box. The classic hydromechanical machine is not proposed, and if you do not like the transfers on your own (who like it in traffic jams), the choice is small, only mechanics or robot. Of course, he copes with his work, the car touches, accelerates, the transfers switching. You can switch and manually, at the same time, imagining yourself with a pilot of Formula 1 or the World Cup in rally, because there you can also change transfers with steering wheel switches. Such dreams will be more likely to indulge in men, this feature was certainly not made for women. Yes, and the men will play and throw it. In automatic mode, it is not always smooth work when changing the gears, excessive fussiness in some situations, when iron intelligence does not decide in which transmission to go, and transfers them back and forth, do not leave the impression of the approaching victory of the mechanical mind over a simple human. Of course, such boxes are getting better, but there is still a reason to rotate to the topic of robotic transmission. But who said that such a work of the gearbox will delight women? They, as practice shows, are in solidarity with men in this matter, so the presence of a robotic box is also not a trump card that makes a female car, not male.
In a word, about Jazz, only girls I do not agree. Anyone will like a good car, regardless of gender. JAZZ came out very successful: easy to move, comfortable, simple, but not boring to control, with a convenient, spacious, truly universal salon. Then, he looks very stylish inside, and do not forget that no matter how beautiful the car is outside, we spend the lion's share of time in the cabin, and if we like there, then we love our car. In general, this is not a female car. And not male. She's just good.
From the history of jazz
Starting from the moment of entering the Japanese market in 2001, the previous generation of Jazz has become one of the most successful models of compact cars produced by Honda. The model was sold in 115 countries with an annual sales level of about 400 thousand pieces. At the moment, more than two million JAZZ cars have been sold around the world, and production was organized at six enterprises in five countries of the world.
The new Honda Jazz has already entered the Japanese market under the Fit brand, and has already managed to win a prize in the nomination of the car of the year of Japan 2007-2008, repeating the success of the 2001 model. Honda Fit is also available in the North American market, where it enjoys great success after entering the market two years ago.
