The main reason why it was decided to send CrossStour to the heading there is an opinion is that this car is difficult to compare with something: in fact, it does not have direct competitors. The closest to the Japanese Infiniti FX37 has a much more traditional body. A conceptually similar hatchback-all-wheel drive BMW GT is simply more significantly more expensive.

CrossStour wolf looks really very unusual: the molested hatchback with a large clearance of 205 mm. We have not seen this yet. Outwardly, originality in a square. But in fact, under this unique body, verified solutions from other Honda models are hidden. So, the 3.5-liter six engine is borrowed from the Pilot, the Torque on Demand is a modified transmission from CR-V, and the suspension is an enhanced version of the one from the Accord sedan.

In the Russian market, Honda CrossStour costs at least 1,799,000 rubles in the initial but rather rich configuration of Elegance: a fabric salon, leather steering wheel and a KP lever, all seats with heating, an electric drive, an audio system with a CD chain for 6 discs (MP3), Frontal, lateral airbags and curtains, doktka. We got the most expensive version of Executive + Navi for the test. In addition to the 18 discs and the leather salon, available in the intermediate executive, the top set offers navigation with an 8-inch display with the ability to broadcast the image from the rear view camera. It costs such a CrossStour already 2 050,000 rubles.

Several car journalists decided to evaluate Honda CrossStour primarily from a consumer point of view. Talk about its price, design, prospects in our market, about the face of a potential owner, ease of use. And most importantly, answer the question: do they need such a car?

After the appearance of Honda CrossStour in the Russian market, I heard different opinions about this car. And, frankly, there are not so many good of them. Someone finds this design strange, someone is too heavy. Someone is skeptical of the inflated accord, someone is not to the liking of a gluttonous and taxo-taxed engine. Well, the most popular statement: Honda for two million? What are you, it's too expensive! So they say about CrossStour many. But I do not agree with them. And there are several reasons. The increase in prices in the modern market of cars is ahead of changes in the minds of potential buyers: not still acclimatized for new pricing. For some reason, it is generally accepted that to give approximately the same money for the Honda Pilot is normal, and for CrossStour (with the same, by the way, the engine and also with all-wheel drive) too much. If I chose a car for myself from these two options, then I would be delighted with an alternative that appeared and definitely would stop at the cross -country. I do not like the heavy cubes of Pilota, his army training and slow reactions. I do not need to carry six people in the cabin, I do not load potatoes into the trunk with bags, I am not a fan of combing the dirt. But I am able to evaluate the originality of the design, powerful, assertive acceleration for an excellent accompaniment of the V-shaped six and good handling, which, even with not at all Hondovsky, American smoothness, is not devoid of a certain acuteness, especially considering the dimensions of the machine. So CrossStour seems to me a very interesting choice. But whether this extraordinary car will accept more conservative buyers a big question.

Until the last moment, until, sitting at the wheel of CrossStour, I did not move out, I did not believe in the ability of this massive look of the car to something good. External angles, where does CrossStour look at least some organically, in my opinion, a little, although they certainly exist. Not entirely motivated massiveness is aggravated by ridiculous long overhangs that you want to sob over, shed tears that once irrigated the first BMW X6 photos. In general, they have common features. A kind of five-door premium hatchback of increased cross-country ability. And with cross -country ability, judging by the confident passages of CrossStour in the gigantic metropolitan curbs, everything is in order. The community of the aggregate base with Honda Pilot is affected. But CrossStour feels more and more sports. The same V6 (however, in the case of Pilot it is deformed), drags the car much more fun. Despite the unusually light steering wheel, handling can be considered almost perfect. It is a pleasure to drive around the city. The rolls are small, the buildup is minimal. And the five -dyadanic machine gun, although not as dexterous as a luxurious eight -band BMW, but also does not force itself to wait. Any maneuver on the Khondovsky crossover is as organized as the whip in the hands of the cattle drove. Accurate and ruthless. However, the CrossStour Salon is dominant and prudent to any of the riders. It doesn’t smell inside aggression, so I don’t want to get out.

Fashion for crossovers sometimes takes some strange forms. Honda CrossStour resembles a huge sneakers of an American basketball player, taken for solidity of a couple of sizes more than the necessary. However, it seems that this car was created specifically for huge American basketball players with long hands. With my 180-centimeter growth, it is not easy to get to the steering wheel even with a vertical landing, and the armrests remain somewhere below and behind. The decoration of the salon with the skin and something similar to expensive woods of wood is slightly pomp. There is a large navigation screen with a fairly detailed map of Moscow, but there is no onboard computer. In the movement, the car is quite dynamic, pleasantly aspires off with bass V6 during accelerations, but the steering wheel is empty. Honda CrossStour shows his eyes with his non -standard, causing genuine interest, but my awkward attempt to fit him in a standard place at the shopping center Parking is more likely to sympathy.

I have the following comparison: a tall, pumped up and angular teenager, fattened by hamburgers, who loves playing basketball and despising crosses, with a bunch of youth complexes that tries to be cool and stylish. However, it looks a little ridiculous, and therefore attracts the attention of others, initially causing a smile or bewilderment. The success of the Honda CrossStour in Russia directly depends on the number of the same Zakop-Elected teenagers, only matured and financially successful, but not parting with a dream, to stand out from the crowd of owners of established proportions.

From dirt to Kings

For a long time I could not understand this car. Dear, ugly, incomprehensible and even very strange. But such was my opinion only to a personal acquaintance. Now I am surprised to understand that I would like to have CrossStour. After all, he takes the best from an SUV, sedan and station wagon. His clearance is enough so as not to think about the quality of the road surface at all, in the cabin it is easy to sit behind yourself and at the same time the ceiling does not press on the head, and the large trunk of the correct shape with a solid underground will be enough for the eyes. A separate song is a motor. The real, Hondovsky power unit of an old school with two characters. Amoeba below and a furious berserker above. And the fuel consumption did not rise above 15 liters.

The motor, depending on the traffic mode, disconnects two or three cylinders. It’s funny to listen to how a balanced six turns into a consumption of three -cylinder unit.

The ideal car for me? I do not want to say loud words, but, except for cheap plastic, I did not find other counterarguments against such an opinion per day. The price, of course, is high for Honda. It would be at least Acura, but in any case, not a single car has changed my attitude towards myself so long.

Desire feasible

When I saw this car, an inconceivable desire to just sit in it appeared, and the desire to drive arose even earlier. CrossStour turned out to be a car with a successfully balanced set of excellent characteristics. A wonderful overview and luxurious front seats that will provide a comfortable movement towards the goal. In the crossover spacious, comfortable and convenient, it excellently accelerates quite clearly the overload, pressing into the back, and easily copes with a rather serious bad road. The clearance is as many as 205 mm, which allows the city to not pay attention to the curbs and it is easy to overcome any potholes and potholes. At the same time, the main feature of CrossStour to remain with such a road lumen, since the center of gravity of the car is low, typically sedanovsky. The sensations are quite unusual: inside it seems that you are going in the sedan, while you still look at other cars down. And being in the back seat, it is generally impossible to guess that this is not a sedan, but a crossover. The suspension is hard enough for a quick ride, but comfortable, there is no hit from below. The automatic transmission works very well very adequately and quickly switches. In general, CrossStour is a car suitable for relaxation with a family in nature or a long journey.
