Along with Toyota, Honda was the founder of the class of parquet SUVs of cars intended for the city, but with the possibility of sorting out into nature. But if Toyota started with the cartoon 3-door RAV4 addressed to young egoists, and only then expanded the line to the 5-door version, then Honda immediately offered a full-fledged 5-seater car with a large trunk, which was addressed to family people. Thus, Honda focused on a more adult category of customers. As a result, after 15 years, Honda, along with Volvo, became one of the most elderly brands and now decently suffers from his pension positioning. And while this wave has not yet reached all the markets and, in particular, to the young and dynamically developing Russian market, the Japanese are trying to rejuvenate their model range, make it more emotional and incendiary. Take a look at the new Civic, especially with a body of hatchback, or burning Type R.The new CR-V, alas, cannot boast of such a pronounced dynamics. Yes, Honda is 100% recognizable in the stream, but there is no need to talk about dynamics. In the appearance of CR-V, an uninhabited brand appeared cartoon and at the same time excessive obesity. At the wheel of such a machine, it is difficult to imagine a slender girl, and a full lady is also unlikely to choose something like that, so as not to emphasize her dimensions once again. True, the black color partly hides the true forms of CR-V. The only thing that attracts the eye is a spectacular window line.
The salon has nothing to do with the exterior. He will be pushed in Japanese and strict, although he would not have prevented him from Sivic's extravagance. In the afternoon, the representative and beige decoration of the cabin is noteworthy, and in the evening neon prevails: he rims on the instrument panel and the legs space are issued. The entire finishing plastic is hard, which somehow does not really fit with the price of a car of almost 40 thousand dollars. But the combination of the black top is a white bottom is very respectable. Add a gloss of stylish little things like knobs-shawls on the doors and a mesh insert on the lower knitting needle of the steering wheel.
The instrument panel is also laconic, but it has one small miscalculation: the skyscraper of the central display is raised too high, and its correct scale of the instant fuel consumption is blocked by the steering wheel. Why this is done incomprehensible, especially since the display, right in front of the driver’s eyes, is the unnecessary order number to anyone. As if the instrument shield was installed incorrectly, and the factory designation accidentally turned out to be in a prominent place.
Experiments with a manual brake form, long love of Honda designers. On the previous CR-V, the handbrake was vertical and placed on the console, now it returned almost to its starting position, but its handle is located not along, but across the car, and it itself resembles a ship's naval rumpel and quite convenient solution. But the fact that next to the cup holders and a pocket for a mobile phone are the buttons to turn on the heating of the seats is a clear miscalculation. They often turn on by accident, which is especially pleasant in the heat.
The rear seat is fully transformed: you can move parts of the sofa back and forth, the backs are adjusted along the angle of inclination in a very large range, and in the middle there is a wide folding armrest, which rather resembles a table with cup holders. The width of the rear seat is such that three adults are easy to sit here, and the floor is absolutely even. By the way, there is no central tunnel and in front. If the boxing between the seats was removable, then it would be possible to organize a passage for children forward and forth.
The machine gun selector is located on the tide of the central console and switches like a shutter - short and sharp clicks. Alas, in the very box of such clarity, a 5-speed automatic is not observed by manual transfers and flatly refuses to slow down. And I don’t want to remember the delays. The work of the transmission is especially disappointed with such decent manageability.
The exact steering with a solid reactive effort is the traditional Honda horse, and CR-V is no exception. You don’t even expect that the parking lot can be so exciting. The creators of Nissan Qashqai tried to do something similar, but they clearly did not have enough the gloss and the sparkle that Honda achieved. In the parking lot, the steering wheel is light, but already at 40 km/h, it is filled with a perfectly verified effort, and rotating the steering wheel is a pleasure. The cranes of the body by off -road standards are very moderate and you can easily drive the car on the verge of the adverse properties of the tires and at the same time feel full control. In the maximum turn, CR-V shows insufficient rotation, but attempts by a high SUV to go into a skid is unlikely to deliver a lot of pleasure. And when demolishing, the electronics does not immediately join the work, leaving the driver the right to grab and slightly scare passengers.
But the already mentioned machine does not really contribute to such a drive. To ensure the craving at the exit of the turn, it is necessary to press the gas in advance in order to let the box switch a couple of steps down and only then you can count on a portion of acceleration. To part a machine and motor, it is also not eager to set records. The 2.0-liter four, although equipped with a proprietary system of changes in the VTEC phases, has nothing to do with truly hot motor from Honda. She lazily accelerates the SUV, making it clear that it is better to turn to Type R for dynamics, and not to family models. But CR-V was pleasantly surprised by moderate fuel consumption: 11-12 liters per hundred-a pretty decent indicator for a modern SUV in constrained urban conditions.
The flip side of the controllability coin, of course, is comfort. The CR-V suspension properly shakes passengers at the joints of the asphalt, but it does not allow rocking to the swing. The high-profile 18-inch wheels of dimension 225/60 R18 do not save from shocks. By the way, it should be noted that for some reason the test CR-V was shod in winter non-navigated tires, although summer is in the yard.
On the CR-V CR-V suburban highway, it also does not shine with dynamics: the latest gear is incredibly stretched, and to switch to the third machine gun is lazy, and when overtaking it often has to be aimed at pressing the gas pedal to the floor or turning off Over-Drive, the benefit of a convenient button is located directly on the machine gun selector . The only joy is a solid reactive effort on the steering wheel, which, as already mentioned earlier, allows you to prescribe turns, like a circuit.
For the assault on the off-road, the new CR-V, like a real SUV, has no additional devices. Electron-controlled hydromoft is responsible for connecting the rear axle. Also, on a snap of soil, you can turn off the anti -resistance system. All hope for a solid clearance and short overhangs. But according to the lane, the car on a stiff long -flowing suspension and with high wheels allows you to rush at a fairly high speed and at the same time avoid breakdowns and swing.
Having calculated all the pros and cons, it turns out that Honda made a very interesting SUV. That's just the external design to taste and color ... But the fact that the machine lacks youth and dynamics is a fact. If the design causes exclusively tenderness, and the pursuit of Schumacher’s laurels, like a racing helmet, has long been hanged on a nail, then CR-V will be quite a successful acquisition. A convenient and spacious car that is not lost on the road, but at the same time is not striking, and even able to give pleasure at the wheel. What else is needed in order to slowly move around the city, and go to the country on weekends? The dream of a pensioner ...
