I'll start with an apology. The fact is that the previous material about Honda CR-V (AI No. 5, 2008), as our readers rightly noted, contained two, frankly unpleasant mistakes. Firstly, the author reported that the electronics of an incorrect statement is responsible for the distribution of the torque between the axes in the all-wheel drive transmission! I repent, did not look. The CR-V has a multi-discground coupling that is blocked when excessive oil pressure occurs. The second annoying mistake was that the same author said the possibility of managing an on -board computer using buttons on the steering wheel. In fact, there are keys to the cruise control and audio systems on it, and the indications of the on-board computer are displayed using buttons on the instrument panel. Well, we will continue to be more attentive. And as a kind of rehabilitation, we offer a consumer test of Honda CR-V with the most powerful engine of 2.4 liters.
The family will be convenient
I think it does not make much sense to describe the exterior of the model. The car managed to gain popularity, and, therefore, the work of designers is appreciated. It seems to me that the third generation CR-V managed to get rid of, I would say so from orientation to the ladies, now a solid man behind the wheel of this crossover looks quite appropriate. If we talk about the most powerful modification, then it is practically nothing from the 2.0-liter version. Unless the upper part of the front bumper is finished with chromium, and a spoiler is installed on the trunk cover. However, the spoiler can also be installed on a two -liter modification, if you order it in the richest configuration. In general, the appearance of the car is quite fresh. By the way, in comparison with the previous version, it became wider and lower, but the length decreased slightly. Whatever the slightest degree affected the spaciousness of the salon.
Even at the first acquaintance with CR-V, I noted that it became somehow free inside. But I really appreciated this only with everyday use. When nothing presses, does not annoy, and therefore you don’t even get tired on long trips. And in the back seats, as it turned out, the three of them can be accommodated quite with comfort, there are enough legs for legs. In addition, these seats can be moved back and forth, and also to change the angle of inclination of the back sometimes it was very useful. And, of course, they can be folded to increase the volume of the luggage compartment from standard 556 to 955 liters. Moreover, in the trunk there is a special shelf, which, as it were, divides the compartment into two parts. This, I note, is also very convenient. In general, from the point of view of the transportation of various belongings, CR-V also offers a two-level glove compartment, a rather roomy compartment between the driver and the passenger, as well as decent sizes of pockets in the doors.
As a driver, I was quite happy with the organization of the workplace. Dials with a bluish glow in the spirit of the last Honda models do not tire the eye. Between the rounds of the tachometer and the speedometer, a small screen of the on -board computer settled, to read the information from which, nevertheless, is convenient. He reports data on the supply of fuel and the temperature of the power unit, and much more useful on the road.
The interior clearly refreshes a two -tone upholstery, and the original steering wheel with a chrome insert in the lower part. It is regulated both in height and in departure, although the range of adjustments could be larger. Personally, for example, for example, at first I wanted to put forward the steering wheel even more, although I somehow got used to it, and I felt quite comfortable behind the wheel. The seat is also endowed with a complete set of adjustments, and I would recognize its profile successful. There is also an armrest that is certainly useful on a long trip. In general, there are no complaints about ergonomics. The central console is understandable, like the climate control block. Unless the button for turning on the heating of the rear window and side mirrors overlaps the automatic transmission lever located in the lower part of the central console. Therefore, you will not find it immediately to the touch, you have to be distracted. High landing guarantees excellent visibility, and large side mirrors practically eliminate dead areas.
The potential is enough
At the first acquaintance with the model, then still offered only with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine, I, I admit, was dissatisfied with the dynamics. Well, there was not enough renunciation to me, especially in the version with an automaton that clearly suffered thoughtfulness. But at the beginning of this year, the gamut was replenished with a more powerful version with a 2.4-liter engine, which was tested. And everything fell into place! This motor, with small changes, migrated to CR-V from the Accord model, simultaneously losing several dozen horses. But also 166 hp Together with a good moment of 220 Nm, it is enough to feel confident in almost any situation. From acceleration, of course, the spirit does not capture, and the engine is slightly noisy, but up to a hundred, the car accelerates in 10 seconds, which is quite good.
The motor demonstrates the greatest return after 3500-4000 rpm. It is a pity that it is impossible to manually switch the programs, but the electronic mechanism for managing the automatic transmission still conscientiously tries to adapt to the driving style. Although some hitch in the reaction to a sharp supply of gas is still felt. However, this should hardly upset the owner: CR-V is not purchased for races. But it is pleasant to travel around the city every day, or to grab it sometimes along the country line, where the car will also behave confidently. It does not even have a special effect on a straightforward movement. For which it is worth thanking the engineers who worked on the settings of pendants: they are ergonomic and, at the same time, do not allow large corns of the body on turns. CR-V clearly reacts to the turns of the bagels, only its relative lightness mixes with the information content of the steering in general.
I liked the brakes. The pedal force is easily dosed, and in the power of the calipers I had a reason to doubt.
Finally, a few more words about Real Time 4wd all -wheel drive transmission. I had enough time to test it in different modes. Of course, a serious off -road did not talk about a crossover created not for this, but for confident movement along slippery asphalt or lane. And he fully copes with this. An active driver should be taken into account by another: the nature of the car can dramatically change in the process of performing risky maneuver. Let's say you enter the turn with excess speed, and feel that the car begins to turn your nose, but as soon as the front wheels scroll, the rear ones will immediately connect. CR-V, as if he herself will try to trust what can cause the demolition of the stern, and here you should be on the guard and respond with quickly the exact movement of the steering wheel. However, the moment of connection can still be tracked. And if you did not turn off the VSA stabilization system, then, in principle, there is nothing to worry about. Electronics reacts quickly and clearly, although quite tough. It immediately reduces the supply of fuel and selectively slows down the wheels to return the stability to the car. And, in truth, it is hardly the current and future owners of this crossover who acquired it to tickle the nerves with aggressive riding.
As for efficiency, in real urban conditions, CR-V does not suffer from a lack of appetite. In Moscow, the consumption was about 15 liters per hundred. Although, if you drive carefully, do not require sharp accelerations from the machine and not to twist the motor, the consumption can be reduced.
