The costs of popularity
It seemed that only yesterday we took the first generation of Honda CR-V with a uD, and today there is already the third in the yard. But we are not talking about them, but about the middle generation, now accessible only in the secondary market. Today it is one of the most liquid cars.

Judge for yourself: the new car cost from $ 30,900 to 37,400 depending on the configuration, and now less than $ 21,000 to the 2002 car cannot be approached. 2004 cars are sold from $ 23,600 to 31,800. Even cases are known when 2006 cars were sold at a new price! In the near future, the situation is unlikely to change a lot, because the line for new cars (CR-V III) stretched for a year, and demand, as you know, dictates the price.

The reason for the serious popularity in the traditional reliability of the brand. Alas, the hijackers also realized this: about 3% of the owners are losing their movement, and not only Europeans, but also right -handed ones are used! It is not worth neglecting the additional line of defense (no matter, mechanical or electronic), and with the loss of the key, we recommend that the chip is in the remaining (1350 rubles) so that the immobilizer will forever forget about the kinship with the fugitive. The choice of engines for CR-V is not rich (see the history of the model). In the Russian market, cars were sold with the only 2-liter gasoline engine, Europeans could additionally enjoy the economy of a 2.2 liter diesel, and for the American continent, again, the only gasoline 2.4 liters were proposed. In our secondary market, as usual, everything was mixed, but diesel versions are extremely rare.

The trouble of gasoline motors is our fuel. A rare set of candles lives up to 30 thousand km, mainly the replacement is required every one after 15 thousand (NGK ZFRGK-11 or DENSO KJ20DR-M11 candles). It also gets nozzles: after 60 thousand km, we recommend that they rinse them. Dealers prefer flushing with removal (ultrasound), so as not to touch the natural soot on the valves and bottoms of the pistons, its deposits on these details for these engines are not so critical. It requires periodic replacement and the fuel filter, for which it will be necessary to remove the fuel pump (hatch under the rear seat): the filter network is located in its lower part. Single cases of oxygen poisoning and melting of the neutralizer cells are known again due to gasoline: the very fact of the opportunity to refuel in the 21st century by ethy fuel, to put it mildly, depresses.

The chain drive of the gas distribution mechanism in care and control does not need, but the valves are adjusted according to the old fashioned way, it is convenient with a screw with a counter -hawk! Practice shows that the gap does not actually go away, but it is more expensive to neglect control of itself. On a small batch of cars there was a problem with the premature wear of the Shek of the camshafts, but a good knock crawled out into the warranty period (with runs up to 40 thousand km), so today there are no more problematic cars.

The dirt will find the hole
The motor compartment is clogged with dirt worse than a vacuum cleaner. Not only cuffs suffer from her, if the owner would climb under the hood, but also the throttle knot in front of the motor open to all winds. It happens that by 120150 thousand km, the axis of the throttle is so broken so that the motor yells at a idle speed. Verdict replacement of the throttle assembly assembly, however, there are very few cases of such a harsh sentence (only in pathological mud). The lower honeycombs of the air conditioning radiator are more often rotted, however, anti -icing reagents are also guilty of this. Not surprising: they have not yet come up with such aluminum so that it does not rot from our mud compress.

At least somehow to protect the motor compartment from dirt from the road will help the additional protection of the crankcase (2700 rubles plus 600 rubles. Installation). Although Honda does not recommend it (in order not to violate the thermal balance of the engine), the dealer looks through his fingers, realizing that the underbelly should be protected. Practice shows that there are no problems with cooling even in a car with an automatic gearbox.

To combat pollution of the headlights, all cars were equipped with a jet pharyomater (not to be confused with a cleaner), and the washing consumption with this system is simply ruined. The 4.5 l tank is drained instantly! The dried film of the average Russian mud is still not able to defeat the stream, therefore, in order not to spend the slurry in vain, many owners take out the fuse No. 15 from the salon unit (next to the steering column) or put a separate toggle switch as a rupture.

For serious off -road, the car is not intended, this should be remembered. The maximum that the transmission is capable of transferring the hardships and deprivation of a light country on the road to a picnic (the creators hinted at this, placing a folding table for the eating above the niche) or winter porridge on public roads. Two limiters are two, but both expensive: a low -hanging neutralizer and the device of automatic connection of the rear axle DPS (Dual Pump System), which does not love overheating during prolonged slipping. DPS is easy to finish by stupidity, setting different tires on the front and rear axles or towing a car by partial loading. When extraneous sounds appear in the rear bridge when moving in a bend, do not rush with a replacement of an expensive node, sometimes an early oil replacement in it helps (only the original Honda DPSF!). With a full volume of 1.2 liters to replace a liter enough, the remainder still does not merge.

Look at both!
American versions can often be in front -wheel drive, with other elements of the rear suspension (a track of 1544 mm instead of 1560 mm). When choosing a car, it does not prevent you from once again under the belly to make sure the rear wheels drive. The cardan gear itself, unlike the first generation CR-V, is more tenacious, but it is not worth neglecting with the diagnosis: the cost of a new part can reach up to 40,000 rubles. The craftsmen have rinked to change the crosses, but such repairs cannot be considered the norm: other DPS and gearboxes can end from imbalance.

In most cases, the Americans do not have the rear curtain of the trunk, the substetric car for the rear room is not suitable for our standard, you will have to purchase an additional frame with separate illumination. So before buying a cheaper car, these little things should be taken into account from the ocean. But the main thing is that we recommend that you check the car at the Cartax (some companies provide such a service for money), it is possible that it was written off in scrap in a past life.

They don't live so much
The remaining details and units can be rightly called long -livers. The machine requires only a regular change in oil (like mechanics, see the replacement regulations), the clutch serves 160180 thousand km, the bushings of reptile stability stabilizers are up to 90 thousand km, like the steering tips, and if you are lucky, for 140. Stabilizers racks. (bones) live more than 150 thousand km, shock absorbers 90120, and hub bearings in 200. However, if you abuse off -road, you should not rely on these figures. Thus, precedents of early replacement of the stabilizer racks with 80 thousand km are known, and 100 balls of ball supports, but torn anthers were more likely to be guilty. By the way, if they are intact, then we can completely forget about the CV joints. However, the brake discs can rightfully be considered an unconditional record holder: there were no replacements on any car observed by the dealer, despite the fact that some mileage exceeded 200 thousand km! Looking at the partners, and the pads serve for a long time 6075 thousand.

In general, the model was a success: a worthy representative is a worthy concept. However, it is not worth talking about supernight, because, as a rule, such machines are controlled by drivers with their heads, which do not allow prohibitive operating modes.
