Both varieties, however, are made on the same platform and in the same body like sedan. For this reason, this model range cannot be called diverse. Probably, this circumstance forced the manufacturer to be quite restrained in the plans and pace of the implementation of the new machine: no more than 2 thousand units of the usual Civic model and another 500 hybrid machines. As you know, a new car with a regular drive went on sale on September 22, and its hybrid modification only on November 22.
By the way, in Europe, this lineup has another representative, namely a car with a hatchback body. This can be understood, since in Europe such cars have many fans. It is not planned to sell this model in Japan. It all depends from how well this hatchback will be sold in the Western market, and what will be the opinion of Japanese customers. So, all the fans of the Honda brand, as they say, are all cards in hand. True, you should keep in mind an important circumstance: if this machine appears on sale in the domestic market, its price will probably be higher. After all, they collect it in the British Isles. This means that the model will be imported to Japan.
 
The appearance and interior design of the salon
Compared to the previous model - Civic Ferio, the new Honda Civic car has become larger in size. Judge for yourself: instead of the previous dimensions of 4470 mm x 1695 mm x 1460 mm, we now have a car with a length of 4540 mm, a width of 1750 mm and a height of 1440 mm. During an external inspection of the machine, the maximum forward salon, as well as the original front ones, not used earlier, pays attention to itself. The size of the tires: on a conventional car, the wheel is 16-inch, and by car Honda Civic Hybrid they are slightly less than 15 inches.

As for the seats themselves, then, both in front and from behind, they are quite spacious. True, if you evaluate the seats of the back row, it would not hurt to make them a little more spacious.
 
New gasoline engine
The engine of the car was further improved. It was especially important that its working volume has been brought to 1.8 liters. And now it can equally successfully operate both in Japan itself and in North America, in Europe, China or Southeast Asia. The most valuable in the engine is the system of a variable working volume of cylinders, which is a new step towards the improvement of the VTEC. Due to the fact that the intake resistance was reduced, fuel consumption at cruising speed, that is, when the tachometer arrow ranges in the region of 3000 rpm, turned out to be significantly lower. And specifically, now only 5.9 liters of fuel are consumed per 100 kilometers of mileage. The gearbox has also changed, the new model is equipped with a 5-speed automatic.
And what can be said about the improvement of the hybrid drive system, which Honda developed and adopted and adopted? In its new hybrid car, a 1.3-liter gasoline engine equipped with an I-VTEC system received, in addition, a device that is designated by IMA (Integrated Motor Assist). Thus, if earlier the combination of the gasoline engine electric motor could operate in two modes (gasoline drive - turning off part of the cylinders from the operation), now there are three such modes: high speeds, low speeds, cylinders are turned off. The IMA system increased the efficiency of the power unit, and as for the developed power, now, compared with the previous hybrid model, it has increased by 20 percent. In particular, the hybrid line allows at low speed to achieve almost the same torque as on a regular gasoline motor with a working volume of 1.8 liters. As a result, fuel consumption when driving in mixed mode amounted to 3.3 liters per 100 kilometers, which is 5 percent lower than that of its predecessor. This is also contributed to this is also promoted by the Honda Multimatic S. Variator of the system.
 
Refined comfort
I decided to start my introductory trips with the Civic Hybrid model. The car is silent not only at the stage of the beginning of movement but also during the trip. The engine works so silently that a new problem appears that arises from the contact of the tires with the road. At the time of the start, small fluctuations in the body are felt, as if real shaking is about to begin, but, in general, an increase in the torque occurs quite smoothly.
The air conditioner installed on a car hybrid has an autonomous compressor, driven by a special electric motor. Therefore, even if the gasoline engine turns out to be disabled, or works at idle, air conditioning does not stop for a minute. But it is only worth the batteries to be in a discharged state, the engine will turn on automatically. This feature of the machine is very useful where it will be used as a taxi.
As for the car, driven by a conventional gasoline engine, its characteristics have not changed so much. Unless it became easier to manage them.
The price of a new gasoline car can vary from 1 million 875.5 thousand to 2 million 142 thousand yen. For the car, Civic Hybrid is asked from 2 million 194.5 thousand to 2 million 362.5 thousand. Thus, the difference between two varieties is approximately 200 thousand yen. But it should be replaced that the price of gasoline is constantly growing. And if so, it would be nice to change the plans for the implementation of the Honda Civic car in favor of the hybrid version of the machine. In my opinion, this will happen!
