What can we say about the space hatchback, after the trip on which I wanted to immediately grow myself a fifth point, like Jay La. But it seems that all this is in the past.


The Honda Civic sedan has not changed in size. The length decreased to 4550 mm (all minus 5 mm!), The height decreased exactly the same amount and the width increased. But the wheeled base has changed stronger, it dried up 30 mm (2670 mm)

In November, we already met the new generation of Civic hatchback. And then there were many clumsy sections on the Spanish roads, where we noted with satisfaction the transformation of the dual -member into a confident good. Therefore, it was by no means without noisiness we were waiting for progress in the same direction and from the sedan. Did he become like that? To answer this question, we went to Turkey.


Why in Turkey? All just new Civic sedans will be delivered to Russia and a number of other countries of Eastern Europe and the CIS from the Turkish Honda factory. And prices are already known. When the first photos of the new Civic sedan appeared, his appearance was immediately criticized. Like, too boring, is no good. However, Civic looks alive ... harmonious. Yes exactly. Calm, peaceful, finished design. Not youth, say? There is a compartment for hot heads in the States, and we will sell a hatchback. And it is not by chance that the Turkish sedan for Russia practically copies the car for the Yankee by chance. There is only one small section on the trunk lid, visually expanding the rear lights. I don’t know what caused the wrath of colleagues, they like them. But we all agreed that the Civic resembles ... the old Toyota Camry.


It is worth pulling the door handle and be inside, as you immediately remember the sensational story when the Americans were firmly offended by Honda for the interior of the new Sivic and subjected it to obstruction. Why far from the most whimsical audience put one of their favorite models? For finishing materials! Testing the hatchback, we even wondered why they so firmly criticized the Civic salon of the five -door version boast of excellent plastic and generally makes a solid impression. However, in the sedan, first of all, you climb into the glove compartment in search of documentation for a car is it really a Premium set?


The architecture of the front panel has not fundamentally changed in comparison with the previous Civic sedan. But the plastic is hard everywhere, except for the upper part of the doors. And even in the most expensive design, soft plastic inside is more difficult to find than Liechtenstein on the map of the world. So that you do not guess, we will reveal the secret at once, but only on the upper part of the doors. And the front panel is all. Like in Renault Logan or Hyundai Solaris. Here, no alternative is the same gasoline unit with a volume of 1.8 liters with the designation R18A2, which worked under the hood of the previous sivik, but slightly modernized. Now he develops 142 hp. Against 140 earlier, but the torque remained unchanged 174 Nm. Of course, you can not even dream about the declared 8.7 seconds to hundreds, although there are a number of advantages that the motor acquired when changing Sivica generations.


The reduction in the wheelbase did not affect the convenience of the rear passengers. Moreover, the salon has become even more spacious! The width in the shoulder area has become more by 75 mm, and the footplace increased by 40 mm. The distinctive feature of Sivica is an even floor. But this is because the mechanical Civic constantly needs to be twisted for more or less fast driving. The motor is weak, although very diligently issues its horses. But Civic with automatic transmission almost as briskly reacts to gas, and when choosing by the steering wheel petal in a sports mode, the box honestly holds it up to the cut -off. It is commendable, but it is hardly necessary for most drivers in everyday life.

A convenient and spacious salon, a good equipment, an excellent suspension and a responsive engine is all about the Honda Civic sedan. But how to close your eyes to a simple interior?

Only one is alarming if the Civic hatchback, as it was before, will be more expensive than the sedan, then how much? Is it really in the top complexation that he falls out over a million?
