Test Drive Gas 31105 2004 - 2008 Sedan

Last parade

In May 2007, the gas began to produce once again an updated Volga. Alexey Lipman got acquainted with the interior and exterior of the car.

If you believe the local marketers, it remains to live a Volga for about three years. Introduction In 2010, the norms of Euro IV will require such a significant cost of processing the design, which is more advisable to remove the car from the conveyor. So the current modernization, apparently, will be the latter.
Chief Caliber
It seems that the plant has decided to try out on the outgoing model (which is good to disappear!) A new approach to the design of design, design and production of cars. Gas partners became German firms Hermann-Rovema and EDAG, well known in the circles of world cars and aircraftters. Russian-German ideas embodied the Nizhny Novgorod company Avtokomponent.
Externally, the car was transformed at risk: there was only a modified grille of the radiator made of metallized plastics, new (interchangeable with the previous) rear lights. Yes, the inscription Volga on the trunk lid is made with a different handwriting.

Inside the largest news was the front panel of the frame design. Now it is a ready-made assembly node, manufactured and tested on a separate site. Modular technology eliminates the malfunction associated with the installation of such a complex node directly in the car. Looks like the main element of the interior is no worse than in other foreign cars. In the center of stylish quartz watches with an ellipse dial, the Bulupunct magnetol is located below with the control buttons on the steering wheel and the climate control panel. For it, two manual modes are provided or automatic (temperature range from +15 to + 30C). The actuator consists of four servo drives associated with the heater tap and dampers. The temperature sensor was placed on the ceiling, where the lighting ceiling was previously stood. The ceiling itself, by the way, became molded, which significantly reduced the noise.
The electronic instrument panel, controlled by the microprocessor, is no longer new, but so far freshly equipped with Chrysler's Volga recently. It looks quite modern: block of control lamps, speedometer, tachometer, fuel level pointers and coolant temperatures and two small display issuing information about daily and overall mileage, time and pressure of the oil.

In the tone of the panel redesamed the upholstery textile insert now neighing with modern two-color plastic. Thunderous pocket got a jack for the can, and the armrest with the windows keys. For an incomprehensible reason on the test sample, there was no step-by-step lowering mode. The glass could only be completely lowered or completely raised. The specialists of the Factory of Promach recognized, promising to quickly eliminate it.

Not all changes are striking; Something you can feel, only taking place in the car. Sitting became more convenient than the front armchairs lowered down and moved back. And for complete happiness, the height adjustable and departure the steering column seems to be for the first time on the domestic car! They took care of the other bodies of the gear shift lever, left, left and down to 79, 86 and 27 mm, respectively, and the handbrake was moved directly to the driver's seat, changing the drive mechanism at the same time.
Looking under the hood, we were surprised to find a non-standard Motor ZMZ-4052 with a working volume of 2.464 liters. However, to try it in the matter of us, alas, did not allow, referring to the fact that the prototype did not come out of the finish stage.
However, with a serial engine, an updated Volga can be purchased at least now, paying over the usual price of 32 thousand rubles for European quality. Exactly the same modification will be the Raykomovsky GAZ-3102. But the universal was not lucky with modest production costs for extensive modernization, they will not pay off here.
You can independently install a new panel instead of the old, alas, it is impossible. After all, in addition to the inevitable to work of the body, it will be necessary to replace almost all the electric harnesses, which makes doubt on the feasibility of the venture.
