And it is thanks to them that we now literally have a boom for these light trucks. Almost every manufacturer tries to occupy his niche in this market. However, someone displays new models, and they, alas, do not take root immediately. Someone continues to drive the old ones, and not too cheap, which also does not affect sales in the best way. And someone modifies already recognized authorities and thereby provides machines with a stable interest from the consumer.

It was on the last journey that Ford went, bringing its updated pickup to the market. Ranger long -time member of the Ford Europe family; The new model inherited the masculinity and enormous capabilities of its predecessors. The design and functions are updated using the Ford Cinetic Design language that gives Ranger a modern, fresh, courageous appearance, so the director of the Ford Europe for marketing, the sale and maintenance of commercial cars Henrik Nenzen spoke about the new product. But if the first we cannot doubt in any way, then as for the design, then this, as they say, is for an amateur. Of course, it was worth updating the appearance. But, as it seems to us, trying to make their pickup more civilian, the designers overdid it slightly. There are fewer men's notes in the appearance of the car and more glamor appeared. However, if you consider the new design exclusively from the aerodynamics, then this indicator has become clearly better. By the way, for the sake of her, the design of external mirrors was also revised: they began to make noise and get dirty at speed, and this is already a good.

As before, the car on the Russian market is offered in two versions of the body. This is a Rap Cab with the rear panels-boys and sides of the second row and Double Cab with two rows of full-fledged seats. Both the first and second can be equipped with a curtain covering the cargo compartment, and the latter can also be used as a site for the load. In a position closing the compartment, a load weighing 450 kg can even be evenly decomposed on it. The carrying capacity itself, depending on the configuration and type of body, begins with 944 kg and is limited to 1135 kg.

But the car’s interior remained almost unchanged, unless, of course, new finishing materials are considered changes. As before, it is convenient and replete with various kinds of drawers and boxes. I would especially like to note the extending shelf over the mess. It can carry a load of 10 kg, which makes it an ideal surface for keeping records or a light snack on the road.

The chassis of the change also did not affect, but the gearbox nevertheless underwent structural improvements. The transfer number of the first gear, compared with the outgoing model, was reduced by almost ten percent, and the second by about seven. This is done to facilitate the beginning of movement from a place and movement into the interference. The beginning of the movement was really less stressful. I remember that on the previous model I had to spin the engine much more intensively so as not to embarrass the others.

As before, only a 2.5 -liter turbodiesel is delivered to our market. There is also a three-liter one, but it is not yet listed in the price lists. Which, in principle, is understandable. They are not looking for good from good. Indeed, in terms of its characteristics, this 143-horsepower engine is a middle ground and is fully consistent with ideas about a fairly powerful and not very gluttonous power unit, which we were convinced during a two-day march in Karelia. And to score along the roads, but mainly without them in the civilized concept of this word, we happened to be eccentric. And there was never a reason to doubt the capabilities of this car.

Variations on the topic
Depending on the configuration of the Ranger cabin, it is offered with cargo compartments of different sizes: Rap CAB 1753x1456 mm and Double Cab 1530x1456 mm. In the first and second option, the machine can be equipped with both a hard roof in two versions and an awning. In addition, from prying eyes, the load can be hidden under a curtain that closes with a key. The cargo compartment itself can be equipped with a plastic liner that prevents the appearance of scuffs.

Our opinion
Calling the Ford Raneger 2009 model year, the language somehow does not turn a new language. Not so much has changed in it compared to? The previous model. However, the innovations that he acquired still allow us to hope that interest in this model will not be lost, because by and large there was no need to change anything in this sufficiently demanded car.
