Therefore, when suddenly, among the modern Ford line, with which in a non-roller country more or less acquainted in the last fifteen years of capitalism, something that does not fit into the historical moron of the consumer, the consumer falls into a stupor. He does not know the history of Ford: what has already happened there and what has never happened there.
 
So a stupor and empty eyes are expected at the sight of Ford Focus CC. Because this is a Cabricop compartment with a hard roof and Italian design.
In the past, 2006, several premieres have already been held in a fashionable segment of golf-class convertibles with a hard folding roof: VW EOS, Opel Astra Twintop, Volvo C70 and Ford Focus CC. The access to the market for the Ford serial Cabiolet Capriot was scheduled for the summer-this is the first car in the history of the brand, equipped with a folding tough top.
 
Until now, no American manufacturer had a golf-class coupe (Japanese, however), unlike Europeans who are ready to fit any body to the compact platform.
Speaking stingy, Focus CC was built on the basis of Vignale's concept, first shown in Paris in 2004. The prototype was named after the Italian auto designer Alfredo Vignal (1913-1969), a serious person in the history of the brand. Carrozzeria Vignale in the 50-60s made a lot of perfectly drawn sportsmen to order, and in 1969 it became part of one of the subsidiaries of Ford.
 
Therefore, we went to try out a new car to Italy. Our business jet sits at a military airfield in Grosseto (Tuscany)-a good beginning. Grosso is almost on the Tyrrne Sea, excellent vineyards spread around. And we had to dissect the local winding and hilly tracks for two days.
In fact, in order to understand the Cabrio-Cup, it is not at all necessary to climb under the hood and discuss with a smart look about the pressed masses. In the perception of the Cabiolet compartment, it was more important to feel the smell of Tuscany without air filters, evaluate the degree of pressure of sunlight on the skin without glass and have a decent friend-leader nearby, which will steer in the direction of the abbey of San Galyano, without swinging your boat on corners. Of course, in order to assess the safety of the vehicle, it is possible to plant an Isador Duncan in the rear seat in a long scarf from Hermes and see what will happen. But here with the rear seat is not very good - we hardly squeezed photographs there.
 
We will roll along the Tuscan hills with a colleague Ushanov from Top Gear and combine a trip with dreams of Tuscan wine, to the source of which we will fall literally upon arrival in the castle. In the meantime, we rolled up to the destroyed, but still beautiful abbey San Galyano and take a break for coffee, baking in the tractoria along the Chianti Classic Rithers for ridiculous money in 7 euros. German and English tourists hang out here, who are approaching the car, examining it, asking details. It looks like they like the car. And whatever she likes if she in Germany will cost a little more than twenty thousand euros! Can you imagine a compartment (!)-A convertible (!) With a hard roof (!) For twentieth? No. So we cannot.
 
I remember that the design of the concept car was equipped with a mass of fashionable details. On a serial car, jewelry decreased, and the design lost a retro -grown for the sake of fashionable dynamism. It is possible that the designer subtleties, like the word Vignale, the Americans decided to save for the top -end modification of the convertible or its limited series. However, Ford is already positioning the Cabiolet compartment as the flagship of the Focus line.
The folding roof was helped by the Italians to design. Unlike most competitors with three- and even five-section constructions, Ford preferred a two-section option. I must say that the volume of the trunk with the roof extended is serious - 500 liters, it is almost 100 liters more than that of EOS and Astra and even than the Volvo C70.
 
If you fold the roof, the trunk volume is reduced to 248 liters, just for a pair of small suitcases. To pack the hard metal roof in the trunk, it takes 29 s. For the same 29, they will raise it, but only if the car is in place. The 2-liter engine of the Duratec family is already developing 145 hp. And it provides Focus with an acceptable dynamics: acceleration from a place to 100 km/h takes 10.3 s, and the maximum speed is 208 km/h.
So far, two basic gasoline (1.6 liters, 100 hp and 2.0 liters, 145 hp) of the Duratec engine and one Duratorq diesel (2.0 liters, 136 hp) are installed on the convertible. Subsequently, for the most demanding customers, a turbocharged 5-cylinder engine 2.5 l with a capacity of 221 hp will be offered, as on Focus ST.
Most likely, already in the basic configuration of Focus CC there will be air conditioning, a complete set of airbags and a multimedia system. The new model will be assembled at Pininfarina enterprises under Turin from local and Ford components.
 
It seems to us that the price at which you can buy a convertible will be able to buy it for students of student age. We do not know how about the papes, and the fact that well -earning fathers will rush to buy it to their daughters is undoubtedly. Because with a breeze I want to ride in his youth.
