Test Drive Ford Focus Sedan since 2010 Sedan

Long Test Ford Focus Wagon. Part 2. On the way to Montenegro

We had a diesel wagon Ford Focus Wagon on our long-term test. Sin does not take advantage of this opportunity, they thought and rushed for 10 days in Montenegro.

So, our final point to all the well-known Montenegrin resort town Budva. The route decided to choose this: Moscow Brest Vienna Budva. From the start to the end point it turned out just over 3,000 kilometers. The shortest way through Ukraine immediately shared due to possible queues and too obstructive attitudes of Ukrainian customs officers, which ultimately may pour into a loss of time.

In the evening, on Tuesday, we leave Moscow on M1 and the first 450-kilometer march to the border with Belorussia, they fly almost unnoticed. Perhaps this is the best road in Russia, according to which I had to ride the track almost everywhere two band, in many places there is a separation fence, and the quality of the asphalt itself at the level. On the drunken AIDS cameras, the speed limiter can be useful, which is convenient to use in settlements, so as not to run into the letters of happiness on arrival home.

Further, they cross the open Russian-Belarusian border with unhindered and continue to move on M1 towards Brest. Cruise control was very useful on the deserted Belarusian autobahn. By the way, from January 1, 2012, the Belarusian authorities allowed citizens of countries of the Customs Union (Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus) free travel to personal cars from the border from the Russian Federation to Brest.

Driving on a circle of more than 6,000 thousand kilometers, we never regretted that we got into fellow Ford Focus. Good ergonomics and excellent front armchairs just contributed to it.

Driving to Brest, it became clear that with the choice of a car for travel we were not mistaken. The power of the 140-strong turbodiesel DURATORQ is quite enough for comfortably moving around the highway, and 320 nm, available from 2000 rpm help the focus during overtaking. At the same time, the characteristic diesel noise penetrates into the salon, only at maximum turnover.

Despite the fact that in the first part I already mentioned well-planted front chairs, I will say again, the seats from Ford Focus are really great, they are not tired even when drove for serious distances.

We passed the Belarusian-Polish customs in less than an hour and in the morning entered the territory of Poland. Polish roads are a separate song, especially since we headed not towards Warsaw, but south to the border with the Czech Republic. Of the total path traveled through the territory of Poland, only the last 100 fell on a less decent two-band route, which is in the stage of active construction. The rest of the route is the narrow tracks clogged with wagons between the villages, on which there is practically no possibility for overtaking. As a result, for 1000 km from Moscow to Brest, as much time is spent as 500 km of Polish roads.

The torment came to the end in the Czech Republic, where the normal European autoban began, through which we, pass the border with Austria, a day after the departure from the house got to Vienna. The most interesting thing began here. Sataling to the hotel, it is time to take care of the parking lot. If our past visit to Vienna fell on holidays, when parking in the whole city was free, then this time to do without fines had to be pretty well.

The city is divided into several districts, whose numbers are indicated on the signs before the name of the street. At night from 22.00 to 09.00, parking is free everywhere, the rest will save only in areas from the numbering from 10 and higher. In the central regions of the city near the numbers 1-9 per hour will have to post 2 euros. The most interesting thing is that there are no traditional parking lots for Europe in Vienna, and the coupons can only be bought in tobacco stalls. But since in Vienna we arrived only for seven o'clock in the evening, then all the stalls were already closed. On my question from locals, how can you pay parking, the locals said that they could not drive away a couple of quarters and put the car in a free area.

The next hour we tried in vain to find at least one free place. After the 2000 km traveled, there was no strength to continue the search, and we returned to the hotel deciding that in one hour, remaining to the cherished free 22.00, nothing would happen. But as soon as we left the car, literally a few dozen meters from us, I noticed a patrol, which is closely checking the presence of parking coupons. Austrian police officers were not at all surprised at them to ask them about the cherished coupons to Russian tourists and not only told that in addition to tobacco kiosks, parking coupons, it turns out, you can buy in the subway, but also allowed to leave us a car until the morning, without paying the remaining hour.

The average consumption of 2.0-liter turbodiesel with a capacity of 140 hp Russia accounted for about 8 liters. As soon as you enter Europe, this figure drops to 6.0-6.3 liters. That's what the more measured and calm movement mode means! In general, according to the results of the trip, the computer showed 6.8 liters.

Kesefna in search of a free place in the city, notice the quick response of Turbodiesel to press the pedal of gas, and clear operation of the robotic transmission PowerShift. To control the city in the city is a pleasure, Ford Focus alone accelerates with a good margin for a shot on medium-sized revolutions. The only thing that can be frozen is too economical transmission settings, which often holds the tachometer arrow in the turboyam. First of all, it is noticeable at low speeds: he trampled the gas in pedals, the transmission went to the lowered, but the motor is still sleeping. Hence the tangible delay. However, it can be avoided, translating the selector box to the sport mode, but then about the consumption of 6.8 liters and the stroke of 840 km on one tank can be forgotten.

Waking up the next day, I still bought parking cards and after a little walk in the center of Vienna we moved on. From the capital of Austria, the Budva remained to travel another 1000 kilometers, but since 800 of them were held on the autobahns of Austria, Slovenia and Croatia, then this segment of the route turned out to be the easiest. And in the late evening we entered Budva.

Looking ahead, I will say that it was decided to go to another route. We will talk about the sights of Montenegro and the reference to the next part.

To be continued
