Long -term Ford Focus Wagon: Part 3. Pearl of Adriatic

Once on the test Focus in Montenegro, we tried to examine the maximum attractions that everyone who came here for the first time should see.

Arriving in Budva, we without problems found suitable parking apartments and, having slept well, went to study the city. The town itself is quite small, but now there is active construction, the bulk of which is a housing stock. It is no secret that Montenegro and Budva in particular for several years has been very popular among Russian tourists.

Unlike other European resort countries, real estate in Montenegro can be purchased without any problems. An important role is played by prices, which here are significantly lower than, for example, in Spain or Croatia. Of course, the oldest city is of the greatest interest from attractions, where most of the monuments of Budva are concentrated.

The city, located on the peninsula protruding at the sea, encircles the fortress wall, and the interior space is permeated with a labyrinth of wonderful narrow streets. It is a pity that the Montenegrins themselves do not care much about the former identity, therefore, in the territory of the Old City, not only restaurants and souvenir shops are opened, but also a bunch of clothing, shoes and other goods in a word, unfortunately, many tourists from Russia love.

Most of the sinks in Montenegro and neighboring countries are automatic. Depending on the intensity of the program, the price varies from 3 to 8 euros. Such a sink is not able to wash insects in the front bumper after a long road.

Budva is famous for its many beaches, which are both in the city and in its environs. The most popular Morgen, Slovenian and Yaz. Those who wish to sunbathe on the island go to the island of St. Nicholas, which is located a kilometer from the coast of the city.

Having piled up on the beach, it was decided to start an inspection of not only the Budvan Riviera, but also the more distant attractions of Montenegro. This is one of the charms of traveling by car you do not need to look for a car for rent or languish in many hours of bus transfers. It was decided to start from the famous monastery Ostrog.

Ostrog is the current Serbian Orthodox Monastery, located 15 kilometers from the city of Danilovgrad. The monastery stores the relics of its founder of St. Vasily Ostrog, one of the most revered saints of the Serbian Orthodox Church. The distance from Budva to the monastery is about 100 km. On the way, you can call in the city of Cetin, founded back in 1482 and is the historical capital of Montenegro. In addition, the current capital of Podgorica is located on the way to the monastery. Now this city is an administrative, industrial and economic center of Montenegro.

On the way to the monastery, along with ordinary roads, there are also dizzying serpentines, from which an amazing look opens. I wrote about the advantages of a practical station wagon with a small fuel consumption in the previous part, but Ford Focus is not lost on mountain roads with a mass of sharp turn. Whether it is a ligament of complex turns, a protracted high-speed arc, or a 180-degree hairpin is controlled easily and clearly. The steering wheel pleases with a well -verified effort and good informativeness, and the rolls that occur on the arc practically do not prevent the car from keeping the trajectory given by the steering wheel and are only a consequence of a good level of comfort, which the creators endowed the focus chassis.

In the background of the ruins of the old bar.

In general, during the whole trip, Ford pleased with his versatility. Here, a good balance of qualities that allow the focus to satisfy the needs of a wide audience are the best selected here. After all, it is chosen by both active drivers and ordinary drivers who need a practical family car. And a lot of settings and three different bodies only contribute to this.

The day after the prison, we went to see the city of Kotor, located on the coast of the Boko-Kotorsky Bay, the largest on the Adriatic Sea. The main attraction of Kotor is the beautiful old city, a 4.5-kilometer fortress wall, as well as the fortress of St. John, located on the top of the hill at an altitude of 260 meters above sea level.

On the pier of Kotor, we met a huge French liner, on which tourists arrived in the city. Parking in the central parts of tourist cities in Montenegro. An hour costs from 5 cents to 1 euro.

On the way, they decided to call back to Tivat. In addition to the fact that there is an international airport, we did not know anything about this city. It turned out that it was for a reason. After a walk along the embankment, it becomes clear that the main attractions here are shops with expensive branded clothes, as well as luxurious yachts under the flags of Panama and the British Virgin Islands, known for their offshore zones.

Finally, before leaving home, we went to the city of a bar, the largest trading port of Montenegro. A significant part of the city’s sights is concentrated in the old bar. However, we found nothing remarkable except a small aqueduct and heavily destroyed buildings.

When compiling a return route from Montenegro to Moscow, they decided to choose not only the redest, but also the most picturesque path through Serbia, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland. If the path to Budva was nearly 3,000 km, then the return road turned out to be 300 km shorter.

The first 500 km from Budva to Belgrade is the most difficult, but also the most beautiful. The endless serpentines with missing fences and the constant repair of roads are compensated by the picturesque views of the mountains that go above the clouds, and literally bottomless gorges. The road, especially distant, is like a documentary with your heroes and plot. Who you just can not meet along the way. Of the most memorable, perhaps, a cheerful customs officer on the border of Serbia with Montenegro, which blurted out all his reserve of Russian words to us, and three Hungarian bikers, who in just 15 minutes crucified the half -tint of a ram served by the owner of one of the roadside cafes hiding in the bowels of the Dinar Surveillance.

Passing Mountain Serbia, you fall into the zone of the European Union, and almost 550 km through the autobahns of Hungary and Slovakia, we pass in one breath. Then another 400 km on the winding roads of Poland, and, having lost almost 3.5 hours at the border crossing of Terespol-Brest, we enter Belarus. Well, then already a familiar 1000-kilometer straight to Moscow.

I must say that in the afternoon on the Belarusian highway, local traffic police officers monitor compliance with the speed regime very vigilantly. We met many ambushes, and among other things, Belarusian police measure the speed directly in the movement, driving through the oncoming lane.

The main advantage of Ford Focus is its versatility. It is great for the city and long trips. Focus is one of the few cars in which the balance of comfort, convenience and handling is observed.

So, you can summarize the trip. Due to the fact that there were more autobahns on one route, and the other was shorter, but serpentinese, each of them took about 36 hours. Together with Pokatushki in Montenegro, the total mileage amounted to 6500 kilometers. Given the average consumption of 6.8 liters of diesel fuel, which showed the on -board computer of our Ford Focus, we spent 21,000 rubles on the entire road (gas + paid roads and parking).
