This 4-cylinder engine of the Duratec family is well known to us from other Ford models: it has been installed on Mondeo and Focus C-Max for several years. Now they are equipped with Russian -made Focus. As a result, the number of engines installed on the model reached six, which further complicates the choice of customers.

By nature, a 1.8-liter unit is largely similar to a 2-liter counterpart. At low speeds there is not enough torque: for an active start from the place you have to promote the engine to 25003000 min-1. Yes, and the electronic gas pedal is clearly sore. But after 3000 min-1 is even, without jerks, a confident set of speed up to the maximum 7000 min-1.
