Mazda3 MPS, Opel Astra OPC, Honda Civic Type-R and Ford Focus ST perhaps the most popular representatives of this casta.
Last year, the Russian premiere of the updated Ford Focus, which has been leading in the ranking of the most popular foreign cars in Russia for several years. Together with him, a charged version with the prefix ST was also updated. When developing the Focus ST modification as a corporate color, Ford chose the bright-orange Electric Orange, which became a distinctive feature of ST-shchi. Arriving in the Russian representative office of Ford by a test car, I found that my companion for the next few days would not be orange, but a white Ford Focus ST. Despite this, finding a ST-shk in a large parking lot near the business center was not difficult. Already from afar, I noticed a snow-white 3-door hatchback, flaunting with black 18-inch discs.
In front of Focus ST, a modified front bumper appeared with a predatory mouth of the air intake in the form of an inverted trapezoid, fog lights with chrome edging and a lining of the hood edge painted in the color of the body. A pseudocarbon insert with an abbreviation ST flaunts on the front wings. The sides are emphasized by the thresholds designed to create harmony between the body and large alloy wheels. The stern is distinguished by a new rear bumper with an integrated lower diffuser, framing two pipes of a diluted release system containing ribs that improve aerodynamics at high speeds. The trunk door was decorated with a stylish anti -winged, and ordinary rear lights were replaced by modern LEDs. The result of cooperation between the Ford design team with Team RS was not in vain Ford Focus ST really attracts attention and causes respect on the road.

In the Focus ST salon, three additional measuring devices should be distinguished in a separate case to indicate the pressure of the oil, turbocharging and oil temperature, pseudo -carbon panels on the central console and the tunnel between the front seats and the black ceiling. Aluminum overlays on the pedals, a parking brake cover, a handle of a mechanical gearbox and a relief steering wheel with a characteristic ST nameplate, are reminiscent of the sports character of ST-shi. In addition, the Ford Power engine button is equipped as standard Ford Focus ST equipment.

To create a cozy atmosphere, the FUCUS ST is equipped with all the necessary benefits of civilization, such as a two-zone climate control, a complete electric package, heating seats, a good audio system and a route computer and bi-kenone headlights.

The six -speed mechanical transmission has good selectivity, but the moves of the lever could be less.
As for the strengthening of the body and suspension, unlike the same Mazda, Ford engineers decided to get by only a spacer between the front racks and another subframe of the front suspension, which received thicker walls. As for suspensions, the changes are more significant here. The stiffness of the springs increased by almost a third, new shock absorbers appeared, the rear stabilizer was ripe for 1 mm.
As a result, a decent shaking appeared on the bumps, and Focus became the true gourmet of the road surface. But this shaking is not the end of the insides, like more powerful competitors. And let Ford Focus S not have such a clear steering and slightly more smeared reactions in turns, but it is more adapted to everyday ride, for which in most cases they buy such lighters. In addition, you can go on a ST-shka calmly. If you do not push the accelerator, then only the excessively scrupulous attitude of the suspension to irregularities and the tight adhesion pedal move will resemble the charged notes. We also note insufficient sound insulation, especially manifested on rough asphalt.
Ford Focus ST, perhaps the most balanced car of all lighters presented on the market. ST-sh-shuttlecock has the practicality of a conventional hatchback (a five-door version of Focus ST is also represented on the Russian market), a powerful overclocking and gambling controllability of a city athlete, as well as a tolerable level of comfort for everyday calm driving and standing in traffic jams.
The price of Ford Focus ST on the Russian market starts from 957 100 rubles per three -door version. A five -door is more expensive by 31 thousand rubles.
