In short, your humble servant (being the average Russian) went with a mild share of skepticism in the soul to meet Fiat Linea.

The car did not amaze in the prologue. It is understandable, because when creating Fiat Linea, Italian designers cultivated the style of calm lines. At the same time, it is impossible not to note that the meaningful and, most importantly, the balanced appearance of Fiat Linea pleases the eye. The novelty pleasantly surprised in size. Fiat Grande Punto, the Fiat Linea sedan, is perceived by a full-fledged representative of the golf segment. The transition to high school students is due to an increase in the wheelbase and especially the length of the machine. This circumstance could not but affect the space of the salon. The number of crew members Fiat Linea, declared by the manufacturer, is five people. In principle, this corresponds to the truth, but with a reservation about the moderate complexion of those sitting from behind. For most competitors, the situation is similar to the law of the genre. The friendliness of the seats, as well as the quality of most finishing materials, cause neither enthusiasm nor regrets. They are just normal. The Gene of Budget Loyalty, my consciousness intensified only in relation to the modest glove compartment and booming wooden plastic of the front panel. Moreover, the instrument shield seemed not to be the most successful its readability not only during the day, but also at night, with the backlight on. Initially, Fiat Linea is alarming with the volume of its 1.4 -frail engine. Will there be a dormant flyer with him? On the road, the question disappears by itself. The turbine disperses the engine power to 120 liters. p., respectively reviving the character of the machine above average. Moreover, an impressive moment under 200 nm is available at less than 2000 min-1. An illusion appears, that under the hood hides a more serious power unit. And at the same time, another question arises on the agenda, about the resource. Will the excessive loading of the motor will cause its premature failure? Italian engineers will not be, they say, arguing their optimism by using super -strength alloys in the most critical rubbing units of the engine. It is curious that the temperament of the Fiat Linea motor gets along well with elasticity. The car is cheerful and fresh in almost the entire engine speed, guarantees the uniformity of traction during acceleration and does not require febrile manipulations of the gearbox lever. By the way, a five -speed mechanics contributes to the common cause with great gear numbers, clear inclusions and good selectivity.

It would be bold to call the suspension of the sedan omnivorous. Once it even came to breakdown. But you do not experience timidity in front of the pits, while driving Fiat Linea. And before the turns, by the way, too. And so in almost everything connected with this machine. You go, analyze the situation and involuntarily note: but the brakes are not bad. And noise insulation in the cabin normally soundproof. The fuel consumption is not even murderous. And the steering wheel is responsive, and transparent, and with influxes for the optimal grip. And then, after some time, the original skepticism is remembered. And Linea is trying everything, proving that it is better. It was already all over. And now it is charged with positive. As a result, linear dependence. In a good sense of the word, of course.


Assembly
At the Sollers factory, Fiat Linea sedans are assembled from machine tools supplied from Turkey. Each machine tool includes about 550 items of parts.

In Russian production, a pendant is assembled, steering, transmission, they join a gearbox with an engine and, of course, place all the assembled nodes and assemblies in the back. The process of manufacturing Linea in Russia can be called SKD, that is, a production based on a large -sized assembly.

Our opinion
The sedan is able to interest the demanding and practical buyers of a wide age category, accustomed to carefully compare the consumer qualities of the machine and its cost. Fiat Linea is able to break the negative Fiat Stereotype, which has developed in Russia, and prove its professional suitability.
