All kinds of all kinds of in the field of 25 years ago could be counted as much as you like: mediocre comfort due to archaic ergonomics and remarkable efforts on the governing bodies, more than mediocre asphalt saturated qualities and almost complete incompatibility with such a concept as passive safety. A car of increased cross -country ability, but reduced practicality; It has a number of undoubted advantages and significant disadvantages compared to Lada and Volga. But nothing is forever. As the classic gradually goes into the misery of the classic, the Niva in the already predicted future will leave the AvtoVAZ conveyor. And the machine that will replace it will bear the foreign name Chevrolet, and her name should now be read in the Niva Latin version unusual for this Russian word.

  

Russian Chevrolet is a unique project. For the first time in the history of domestic automotive, the machine developed by our engineers will enter the market in the lineup of the Western manufacturer. After all, how was it before? Under the guise of gases, vases and Muscovites, foreign cars were produced. And here it seems to be a Russian VAZ-2123 car and suddenly Chevrolet! Already intriguing: what in this car is such that allowed her to join a family with such a high name?
 
The idea, which at one time embedded in the VAZ-2121, involved the creation of a car where the rural resident would not be ashamed to appear in the city. The current Niva is different. Outwardly, this is a typical urban SUV coloring with a metallic, cast discs, painted in the color of the bumper body, will this urban upset of the radiator grill into rural dirt? We will check this a little later.
 
And yet, remembering the VAZ blood, I decide meticulously to inspect the Chevrolet.ru body to detect this very ru. It was not possible to find fault. The quality of the coloring is very worthy, and the gaps between the body panels are uniform, although somewhat big. I liked how the doors close: easy and quiet. It is closed, not slammed. In addition, external handles for natural grip are much more convenient than all those door delights that our industry previously offered to us.

  

The car is very good inside. The assembly quality makes us talk about the machine as a hundred percent Chevrolet: all the elements are tightly fitted to each other and are silently silent when moving.
 
The front panel is covered with a pleasant material to the touch, and the tissue upholstery of the seats is diversified by the variegated inserts. The ventilation control unit consists of three handles, with the help of which it does not cost anything to organize in the Tashkent or Yakutsk salon everything is logical, understandable, and most importantly effective.
 
But the most important manager steering wheel with the Chevrolet emblem is the brightest element of the interior. The steering wheel in diameter resembles a classic one, but only it is much more convenient, and a large hub will easily contain a pillow. I won’t be surprised if soon lovers of garage tuning in the mass order begin to change the standard stories of their Lada to the American one.
 
In motion, the car is not much different from a simple passenger car. But where the roads end and directions begin, Niva feels at ease. Which is not surprising: from a technical point of view, the car is much more serious than proportionate SUVs, which is unequivocally indicated by the existence of a hand -up box and blocking of the interdose differential.

  

The reverse side of the vehicle of the car is an increased level of noise born in the bowels of the transmission when moving at high speeds, as well as significant vibrations on the gearbox lever.
 
Chevrolet Niva is not the Niva that we are used to seeing her. And although it is an original car, like all the products of the Russian automobile industry, but a modern appearance, outstanding off-road qualities and quite affordable price, CHREVROLET should be compared with the VAZ-2110, and not with the predecessor. Niva exactly the same correlates with the tenth family from AvtoVAZ, as well as a quarter of a century ago, the VAZ-2121 looked against the backdrop of then six.
 
But despite the overseas name, the car is perceived very Russian. Note, not Soviet, but Russian. This is a very special machine, which is a certain intermediate link between Rousseau Mobile and a foreign car. What is closer to? I can not say. It seems that or is it better like this: try to go to the nearest dealer and ride a chevrolet. I am sure you also cannot answer this question. But I think you will agree that today it is the best car of those that has created the domestic automobile industry.
