I will not argue about the first: I heard many kind words with bright epithets about the legendary cars of the old British brand. You can’t call the exterior design also a doubtful one: with its strict and clear lines, it resembles a well -fitted suit, which is equally perfect for a solemn evening and for the then groaning gym.
It’s a pity, but for a short acquaintance, it was not possible to fully know the car. But I still noted some features for myself. With impressive dimensions, I would not call the free space in the salon an excessive drill, for example, it’s cramped. And there is only enough space on the rear seats. The governing bodies are convenient, but the central console, in my opinion, is somewhat overloaded with keys, the purpose of which cannot be flooded. But high and comfortable landing, coupled with an excellent review in a circle, add positive notes to the SUV control process. Despite the extremely light steering wheel, the car remains sensitive to the driver’s actions. Both on the virgin lands that simulate off -road, and on conditionally even suburban routes, Sport demonstrates good dynamics and stability. It is difficult to find fault and BreMbo mechanisms effectively slow down this heavy Range Rover.

Well, I heard about this car. The previous X was the fifth of friends, so they are still ready to share rainbow impressions. The crossover itself is no longer there, but there is still an impression. Paradox! It is not yet necessary to deal with the latter X5 (in the good sense of the word), however, yet it has not yet been necessary. But the nature of the next fashionable half -film can be judged from afar. He was angly strict, and this one became streamlined fair. The clarity of the predecessor lines of Bavarian masters smoothed, endowing the novelty with a softer temperament. At least, it seemed to me with the first close contact with the car. Very soon I realized that I was mistaken. Despite the less provocative appearance, the genes of aggressiveness inherited were transmitted to him that the trip was clearly demonstrated.
Once behind the wheel, I first thought that I was in an ordinary station wagon: landing is absolutely passenger. However, rather, even a sports sensation of dense clamping in the cockpit due to a closely located chubby lamb and a specialized seat did not leave for a minute. At the same time, you feel all the potential and disposition of the BMW X5. Stunning explosive dynamics, magnificent maneuverability, excellent obedience to the driver. And all this is accompanied by the ease of control, comparable to some prehistoric computer simulator: the joystick of the machine gun selected ahead a little, the gas flew! Almost the same can be said about ergonomics everything is at hand, it is conveniently located where you expect. Unless the famous wheel control of the Idrive menu was somewhat embarrassed. Having decided to run through the functions, I resolutely turned the controller. And then I understood my mistake: I, a person who, with electronics on you, was problematic to return to the main menu because of a heap of the so-called submenu, in which it is easy to get confused.

About the previous Mercedes Ml, I heard a lot of unflattering reviews. Like, the interior of Spartansky, and the materials of the finish is inappropriate, and the general quality of the model is not at the Mercedes height. The last generation ML for me is still a dark horse. However, judging by the modern model, old sins are nullified here. From the first seconds, you understand that the German car conheres is still ahead of the planet of the whole. Everything is done here for a comfortable driving, but many people think that comfort is much more important in the road. And even as an opponent of such a statement, I will not deny the obvious salon of Mercedes ML 320 really high -class.
The materials of the decoration are perfect. A convenient driver's seat is equipped with a huge amount of adjustments to get a shirt. I really liked the simple and understandable dashboard and a multimedia system, the work of which does not have to rack your head. Clarity is also characteristic of the controls of other systems. The unusually located machine lever (on the steering column on the right under the wheel) reminded of Dedushkina 21st Volga. Naturally, not switching here everything is clear and soft. I would call the suspension perfectly balanced: on the one hand, it does not have excessive dentistry, on the other, the car is slightly ticked in corners and pecks when braking. With a powerful traction diesel, ML quickly and assertively accelerates. And in German, the impeccable controllability of the SUV will not leave indifferent a lover of a real drive! But I have a difficult attitude towards the Merses, despite the fact that McLaren Mercedes is my favorite team in Formula 1. Serial machines seem to me too conservative.

My choice
I did not think that I could choose a new car so fast. In terms of equipment and characteristics, all three cars are close. But the dynamic capabilities and ability of the BMW X5 adjusted to the mood, obeying the driver’s actions, they impressed me so much that the picture of the future car was drawn in my head during a trial trip. How easily and elegantly the crossover slides along the surface of the asphalt, how briskly rushes behind the accelerator pedal, how subtly feels the slightest movement of the steering wheel and how gracefully jumps for bedridle policemen! Only high even in comparison with rivals the price of X5 is a little embarrassed. But it seems to me that I already understand why I will give the money.

We are completely on the side of Victor. The Bavar is really noticeably standing out among serious rivals with its extraordinary sled abilities. If the controllability of crossovers is usually called a passenger, then in BMW X5 it is close to real sports cars. At the same time, the cost of the model only at first glance seems high after the trip the difference with competitors in price is quite quickly leveled in brain perception. And finally, remembering that efficiency in the case of powerful and expensive models is not so relevant, it is pleasant to realize that even against the background of universal diesel modesty, the fuel appetite of this road SUV looks moderate.
