The new Audi TT liked our customers. On Russian roads, it can be seen in versions of the compartment and the class. An even greater interest in this model this summer is caused by the release of two new engines, each of which is unique in its own way.
Infrequently, manufacturers delight buyers with versions with diesel engines, referring to the poor quality of fuel in Russia. But recently, there are fewer problems with this. Since the bulk of the Audi TT buyers is in Moscow and St. Petersburg, diesel versions become very popular. The second novelty was the charged version, which, of course, has an S. index now about each of them in more detail. Immediately, we note that with the release of new engines, the variety of sets has increased significantly. These engines are installed on all TT types, and can also be used with different types of transmission and drive.
The first tested by us on Munich roads was sports TTS. The fact that you control the most powerful of TT resemble small S-line inscriptions, which are everywhere on the steering wheel, box, central console, dashboard. Under the hood, a number 4-cylinder engine with direct FSI and turbine injection. The engine volume is 2 liters, and the power is 272 hp. at 6000 min-1. In motion, the motor is distinguished by good elasticity and traction. The maximum moment 350 Nm is already available from 2500 min-1 up to 5000 min-1. Such powerful indicators make it possible to lightly, weighing about one and a half tons, a compartment with a mechanical gearbox to dial the first hundred kilometers per hour in just 5.4 seconds. It is interesting that the 6-speed S-Tronic is 0.2 seconds less. The result is largely predictable. Engineers paid maximum attention to setting up precisely the automatic transmission, due to great interest from them from customers. As a result, in motion with different transmissions, the motor sounds differently. With a machine gun, it is more booming, and each switching to the transmission below is accompanied by overdose. The mechanics are more sonorous, but quiet. By sound, you can’t say that you drive a sports car, everything is most comfortable as possible.
Automatic transmission is distinguished by quick feedback to press the accelerator pedal. There are no delays when switching gears in manual mode. S-Tronic also adapts very quickly to the driving manner. This could be checked, rolling for a long time through the German autobahns, and then quickly moving to the winding provincial paths. You get used to 6 -speed mechanics quickly, the moves of the KP lever are short, and the inclusions are clear.
Another new engine in a row 4-cylinder diesel engine with turbocharged and variable geometry of the turbine (VTG). Its volume is also 2 liters, like a gasoline novelty, but horsepower is much less than 125. But the moment is the same 350 nm and is already available from 1750 min-1. A compartment with this engine has a good thrust. You can’t say that under the hood diesel. The cabin is quiet, and there is no tractor sound characteristic of diesels outside. Only the TDI nameplate on the trunk lid gives the diesel. High -speed characteristics: acceleration to 100 km/h for 7.5 s, maximum speed 226 km/h. Perhaps not every gasoline engine boasts such indicators. And fuel consumption 7 liters per 100 km for sure!
TT is controlled, regardless of which motor under the hood is very predictable. The steering wheel is heavy with an increase in speed. The suspension is perfectly balanced, holds a trajectory, the rolls are minimal. Thanks to excellent sound insulation and comfort inside the cabin, a feeling of speed is slightly dull. In the most powerful version S, nothing changes: the coupe remains also predictable and comfortable in management. TT coupes and relatives with new engines are ready not only to accelerate quickly, but also to stop. All machines used a double -circuit brake system with a diagonal structure. All brake discs are ventilated, with the only difference being that on the powerful version of S they are 17-inch, and on the diesel 16-inch. To help the driver, all cars have an ESP stabilization system, which works very correctly, interfering only in really critical situations.
TT with new engines will appear on sale this summer. The first, of course, will become TTS. As the most long -awaited and is a flagship option. With a diesel, the question is still open. Let's hope that he will not have to wait for him for a long time. The price of the TTS coupe will begin at 44,900, and the Rooster with 47750.
New Audi engines are greater than power with the same volume
Modern technologies allow a lot. This can be judged by the release of new products from car manufacturers. This time, an forced Audi engine was such a novelty. He once again confirms that it is not necessary to have a large volume in order to issue an avalanche of power. The operating volume of the TTS engine is 1984 cm3. He gives out a power of 272 hp. at 6000 min-1. The torque reaches 350 Nm at revolutions from 2500 to 5000. It was possible to achieve such results thanks to the FSI direct injection system and turbocharged. The first 100 km/h the compartment is gaining in 5.4 seconds with a manual gearbox. With the automatic transmission of the S-Tronic, this requires 0.2 s less. And to accelerate from 80 km/h to 100 km/h, only 4.4 s will be required. An important issue with such dynamic characteristics is economical. But everything is in order with him. In a mixed cycle with a 6-speed mechanics, the consumption reaches 8 liters per 100 km, and on S-Ttronic 7.9 liters per 100 km.

With the advent of new engines, Audi TT buyers have increased significantly. Now you have to think before buying. Each of the new engines, and those that have already been installed have good dynamic indicators. And if there is good control, TT goes beyond the image model: it is ready to become a reliable and convenient everyday car.
