Since the appearance of the first Audi Allroad, almost a year has passed in the salons. But we see enough reasons to tell readers about this machine for several numbers.
The Olympic slogan is faster, higher, it was not more strongly connected in one car bottle. On the Russian soil, this resulted in a formula 1+1: that is, a quick sedan flies in front of the highway in front of the highway, and its back covers a powerful SUV. Russian car owners divided into two categories: those who proudly look at the rest from the height of their jeep, and those who are closer to the ground and, not without reason, consider themselves faster and maneuverable more awkward monsters with all -wheel drive. Cars in Russia gained purpose unknown to the West: for protection and for the boss, winter and summer, ceremonial and traveling. And although any car owner considers his apparatus self -sufficient, at heart, everyone wants to have that universal car.
When a new one a year ago appeared in a small class of excesses of increased cross -country ability, his birth was not a sensation. Audi Allroad was more wary - it was painfully similar to A6 Avant.
The statement sounded already in the very name of Allroad Quattro: it means that the road is still all-wheel drive-almost the most honest of all that such cars are equipped. In addition to the all -wheel drive transmission and the Torsen cross -ose differential, there is a mighty subframe here, on which elements of the main transmission and rear suspension are fixed. The suspension itself is pneumatic, allows you to stepwise change the clearance of the car by as much as 66 mm. It can be controlled both manually and in automatic mode.
A year ago, when the autopilot reporters were first shown a car in the Austrian Alps, the representative of the company proudly remarked: the body, characteristic of most SUVs, cannot provide the dynamics that fans of the Ingolstads brand are used to, and therefore Alllo is the best compromise between the prestigious sedan and the machine on which you can go, for example, to hunt ...
We admit honestly: Allroad made an impression a year ago. Firstly, the comfort and wealth of standard configuration, which did not dream of other brothers in the MPV class: excellent seats, full electric package, xenon, 17-inch wide wheels ... Secondly, dynamics: a 250-horsepower engine accelerates an almost two-ton car up to 100 km/h in seven seconds, and on the maximum 240 km/h it feels that this is an artificial restriction. As for technical solutions, only the suspension is worth individual words and emotions: with the above dynamics clearance for driving a bad road more than another jeep! And, in general, you must admit that not many automakers decide on a statement about the universality of their model.
Two short days of the first test drive was clearly not enough. And therefore, we decided to try the car in the case within six months, using it as a representative car and as an overclocking machine for editorial needs, and as extra-, excuse me, an all-around. On June 15, we received a modification with the V6 2.7 Biturbo gas engine, a 5-speed Testronics in standard configuration. A month of our communication with her has passed, and we can already draw some conclusions.
- The first tank was enough for us a little more than 300 km. The on -board computer seemed to be ill with bullets and highlighted the average fuel consumption - 25 l/100 km. We wrote off this for non -channel, as well as the fact that after a day our car had already taken part in Quattro days, where it seems to be crushed from all urine to the accelerator. However, having rolled another 500 km, the Allroad has formed, and now the consumption is approximately 16 l/100 km.
+ It is very good that we got a car with combined seats (leather+ Alcantara). In the 30-degree Moscow heat, it would be unbearable to drive leather heat, and a simple velor is already something not in the image of this machine.
- After those very days of Quattro, scratches appeared on the plastic of the lower part of the front bumper, the bottom, and the front wheel shod in the good year, the good year Wrangler, simply exfoliated the vehicle. Interestingly, two low -profile tire models of 225/55 R17 are designed specifically for AlloD. Good Year Wrangler is positioned as an off -road, and Pirelli Cinturato P6 is as more sports. At the same time, the central part of both has a low rolling resistance, and the external part of it is strongly profiled.
+ The car fantastically holds the road. Perhaps not one of the civilian universal we tested, did not give such a sense of confidence the driver at high (over 160 km/h) speeds. By the way, for a minute, and what is Audi RS4? In general - the same barn. But the tongue does not turn to call it that.
   
+ Allroad is not a BIG-foot on the basis of A6 AVANT. Of course, a high clearance is needed not only in the parking lot. If the ALLROAD Quattro road clearance of 142 mm rushing along the Autoban, then the car body can be squeezed up to 208 mm on the laundry. And this is already very serious. Neither Volvo, nor Subaru, nor BMW, nor even Jeep Grand Cherokee can boast such a clearance. Plus, the reducing series of transmission, which is equipped with versions with mechanics, which allows not only to feel confident on impassability, but also to tow a load weighing up to 2300 kg.

*We considered it necessary to calculate such costly things as the acquisition of complete insurance (hijacking, damage, etc.). Despite the fact that this figure looks threatening, it is one -time expenses that the owner incurs once a year. As for the incandescent light bulb, we could have changed it under warranty, but we did not waste time on a trip to our technical center and bought it in the first branded store of spare parts.
