And in vain, because by a combination of status, adaptability to Russian conditions and comfort A6 ALLROAD is hardly the most successful Audi model.


In Russia, AL6 Allroad can be chosen either with a three-liter 245-strong turbodiesel, or with 300-strong gasoline 3.0 TFSI. The car dynamics with these motors is very good, but inaccessible for us 313-strong 3.0 TDI with two turbines out of competition. Magnificent motor.

The A6 Allroad Road clearance with a raised body of 60 millimeters higher than that of the avant wagon, the motors are more powerful, and the full drive system is built on the basis of the usual AUDI differential with corona gears, which distributes the moment in proportion 60:40 in favor of the rear axle. There is an optional active differential on the rear axle.

Pneumatic suspension is able to increase the ground clearance of 45 millimeters from the standard level (140 millimeters) or reduce it at high speeds by 15 millimeters. In the current generation, it was decided to equip all allroad modifications in the database. Such suspension works ideal for our conditions: gently, smoothly, smoothing all the vibrations and irregularities. The new A6 Allroad really steals on the road with express resistance. And it will not matter, it will be perfectly direct autobahn or the European cape with a far from perfect asphalt. Perhaps more comfortable in Q7.


Clearance Audi A6 Allroad, which is in a calm state of only 140 millimeters, can be increased by 35 millimeters (the level of Allroad, it works up to 80 kilometers per hour), and in case this is not enough, then another 10 millimeters (LIFT level, up to 35 kilometers per hour).


With a constant movement at high speed (120 kilometers per hour), for example, the autobahn, the pneumatics presses the body to the ground by 15 millimeters.

Inside the A6 Allroad is chic. Especially well, the option of trimming by the ship teak tree is exquisitely and cozy. Excellent leather chairs, impeccable dashboard, huge MMI display, powerful music from Bose or Bang & Olufsen, Internet access and insane many auxiliary electronics. There is something to please the passengers, but also to the driver of sin to complain.

He will be delighted at all! Delighted from the new 3-liter biturbodiesel. The engine is, of course, not developed from scratch, and is the fruit of work on the improvement of a long-known 245-strong Turbodiesel 3.0 TDI. The Germans have been finalized something, screwed two instead of one turbine, which work according to a traditional consecutive scheme, and here you have a result of 313 horsepower and crushing 650 Nm of torque.

Interior


From the inside, the allroad modification is a complete twin sedan or station wagon A6. The option of finishing the interior with teak tree with special mats on the floor is delightful. In this performance, the salon seems even more spacious and light.


The switching lever on the A6 ALLROAD is the same, regardless of whether the car is equipped with a 7-speed robot s Tronic or 8-speed Tiptronic machine. It is not quite usual to change the mode with Drive on Sport moving the lever on itself and control the volume of the audio system on the right side of the tunnel.

A special difference in the behavior of various transmissions, however, you do not notice. The robot works hard in extreme modes, and otherwise both transmissions are not supplied to: always smoothly and unnoticed, and if necessary, then quickly, but still smoothly.

For a fashionable premium shed, the mighty turbodiesel is suitable perfect. What acceleration! As if behind him pushes the locomotive of the crazy Dr. Brown from the film back to the future. The first 100 kilometers per hour off-road wagon is gaining in 5.6 seconds, which is 0.3 seconds faster than 310-strong gasoline modifications. And it makes it easy, playing, without fuss. But further, Allroad continues to rapid speed rapidly, and only to 200th kilometers per hour, the pressure subsides a little. And all this with a real average consumption of about 12 liters per 100 kilometers. Much more spectacular than in modern hybrids, but almost as economical.


For the new A6 ALLROAD, the pneumatic suspension is available in the basic configuration. In the front multi-dimension, the shock absorbers are made at the same time with pneumatic elements, and in the rear suspension they are separated.


All A6 Allroad are equipped with a constant full-wheel drive, which in normal state transmits 60 percent of the torque on the rear axle. When slipped on the front wheels, up to 70 percent can be transmitted, and to the rear - up to 85 percent. Optional active differential is responsible for the distribution of the moment between the wheels of the rear axle.


The new Burbodiesel 3.0 TDI (313 forces, 650 nm) is equipped with two turbochargers of different performance operating consistently. But it was possible to get such a return not only thanks to them, but also upgraded cooling the head of the block, changing the opening time of valves, improved pistons with internal oil cooled, optimize pump performance and oil pump. Pressure in the fuel injection system is 2000 bar.

And how he sounds! Perhaps this is the first diesel, which is not ashamed to drown gas to the floor. For adjusting the exhaust acoustics engineers used a special actuator, in other words, an additional jar of the muffler. If you can still identify diesel for the engine at idle, then the release of medium and high revs, the gasoline V8 is installed under the hood! And on acceleration, from the exhaust pipes there is such a thoroughbred growl, which is about the TDI nameplate and do not remember. Powerful, beautiful sound.

By the way, its volume can be changed through the Audi Drive SELECT menu. In the Individual position, the driver has the ability to configure the suspension, steering and gearbox to work in one of the four modes (Efficiency, Comfort, Auto, Dynamic), as well as adjust the intensity of the output of the release. This thing is unchecked, because in Dynamic mode with cruising movement on the autobahn exhaust bauxite is unnecessary, even taking into account excellent noise insulation.


Managed A6 Allroad compared to ordinary A6 worse. Feedback on the steering wheel is insufficient, and the pneumatic suspension is clearly configured to comfort. They are afraid of our dielair. Therefore, the top A6 ALLROAD in our market will be a car with a three-liter gasoline gear with a mechanical supercharger, which is now developing 310 forces on 10 horsepower more than the usual A6.

The difference in two engines, albeit similar in power, huge! It is impossible to call 3.0 TFSI slow, and dynamic characteristics (5.9 seconds to hundreds) confirm. But the rapidness and density of overclocking, which demonstrates 313-strong TDI, there is no. The gasoline A6 Allroad is almost easily spreads with kilometers per hour, also confidently comes to the third hundred, but his character is different, not so aggressive. The sound here is also good, however, after the magnificent Sound of the Burbodiesel, even it seems flat and ordinary.


You will not find such equipment in the usual UNSalue A6. Allroad is additionally equipped with a mountain descent system, and on a large display, you can display data on transverse and longitudinal tilt angles.

Last option for Russia with an already familiar engine 3.0 TDI with one turbine: 245 forces, 580 nm. In Europe, the A6 Allroad will be sold with a 3.0 TDI engine deformed up to 204 horsepower. But we will not have the most sophisticated 313-strong diesel engine or the weakest 204-strong.

Allroad with such a motor option for everyday life. The horses, of course, not at all, but on the background of the stunning dynamics of top versions in this car you will no longer find any light. Only calm, quite confident, ordinary acceleration, although it is also very fast (6.1 seconds to hundreds). It is strange that with the same outfit mass with a gasoline version (1930 kilograms), 245-strong diesel loses in overclocking up to 100 kilometers per hour of only 0.2 seconds in fact, the difference seems more. This Allroad is not at all hot. Even with a heart. And to manageability of A6 Allroad and so there were certain questions.


What does it get to the longer name Audi A6 Allroad compared to a conventional A6 universal? Changed exterior, increased clearance, air suspension with the ability of the elevator and the descent system from the mountain. Compared to A6 Avant, prices for similar allroad modifications are more than about 180,000 rubles. It is worth the A6 Allroad, of course, not cheap, but note that the initial prices for standard all-wheel drive five BMW are almost the same, and Mercedes-Benz E350 4Matic is worth a minimum of 2,870,000 rubles. And this is without any off-road charms available for A6 Allroad.

Allroad modification by having received a pneumatic suspension and enlarged clearance, expected loses in the part of driving pleasure, which concerns the steering and suspension. The steering wheel of all Audi models, which has long been scolded for some synthetic reactions, on the ALLROAD model, received a modified electric power plate with a variable gear ratio, which saves 0.3 liters of fuel from each 100 kilometers. But what is in return? Reactions are far from ideal, blurred, and the effort is unhetable. In the EFIICIENCY and Comfort modes it almost completely disappears. To get into turn, immediately turning the ram at a certain angle, it becomes difficult. You have to gather.

In Sport mode, the effort on the steering wheel, on the contrary, it seems too intrusive, but does not add in the feedback. It is better to select AUTO mode. Surely, the majority of owners will do, which in the first month will play with all the variations of Audi Drive Select and will eventually choose what engineers came up with.


One of the numerous advantages of the A6 Allroad is a large and comfortable trunk that was inherited from the usual wagon. Smooth walls, a pleasant finish, a special cargo fastening system, a comfortable removable curtain, a hatch for long, well, a useful volume of 565 liters, which increases to impressive 1680 liters with a folded back row of seats.

The pneumatic suspension, specially reconfigured under the off-road needs of the A6 Allroad no longer welcomes the active drive, to which the ordinary sedan or wagon A6 will have so readily. In addition to incomprehensible steering, more rolls are added to the incomprehensible steering, not so clear reactions and tacity at the entrance to the turn. On the arc, Olrud gets not very happy, but going for a turn and choosing rolls, it can be famously trust a massive car in turning the active rear differential. Audi A6 Allroad has a very impressive arsenal: powerful motors, four-wheel drive, adjustable pneumatic suspension, rapid machine. All cars are serially equipped with an electronic Torque vectoring system, which can selectively brake the wheels to hold the machine on the trajectory (in cars with a sport differential, this system only controls the front wheels).

This wagon is not created for serpentine races. But he perfectly gets all the rest of the autobahn, cut through the forest on the primer, a broken rural road, a snowy mountain pass. And all this with comfort, almost without reducing speed, not afraid to clarify the bottom or not to get out of the snowdrift. A6 Allroad is not a racer. This personal Sapsan is fast, energy-made, with the desired status and, more importantly, well-adapted for Russia.

Alternative
Volvo XC70 is an ideologically correct alternative, but cheaper. Only gasoline modifications VOLVO XC70: T6 (304 horsepower, 440 nm) with gasoline turbocharged V6 and 3.2 AWD (243 forces, 320 nm) can only be fighting with AUDI A6 ALLROAD) with atmospheric gears. Prices, respectively, 2,220,000 rubles and 1,867,000 rubles.

BMW universal levels do not do. In our country, the Bavarians offer only 530d XDrive Touring with a three-liter turbodiesel (258 horsepower, 560 nm) or 535i xDrive Touring with a three-liter gasoline biturbomotor (306 forces, 400 nm). For a diesel version, 2,550,000 rubles are asked, and 2,530,000 rubles for gasoline.

The only version of the All-wheel drive universal on the basis of the E-class Mercedes-Benz is the version of E 350 4Matic Blueefficientcy. Unlike the rear-wheel drive car 350 CGI, which put a powerful version of atmospheric V6 (292 horsepower 365 nm), for 4matic, a less powerful modification is provided - 272 forces, 350 nm. Price - 2,870,000 rubles.


Audi A8 Hybrid: imbalance
Are there many people in Russia who want to buy a representative A8 with a two-liter (just!) Engine? Let the failure of the failure, albeit with an advanced hybrid installation? Plus-minus zero. Few of the potential buyers of the eights will be interested in the fact that the turbo engine itself is very good (211 horsepower, 350 nm), and with a vacuum with an electric motor, the return of the hybrid power plant increases to 245 forces and 480 nm with a very modest appetite.

No, we have AUDI A8 buy not in order to save gasoline. Our options are 4.2, or even a long-pass version with a 6.3-liter 500-strong W12. On the extreme case 3.0 TFSI. There would be no complaints for the dynamics of A8, whether some heated hatch. But for the executive class of this little. Here, besides overclocking, it is important, its ease, smoothness and confidence. Limousine of this class should follow the gas pedal even at speeds about 200 kilometers per hour. And behind the wheel of the hybrid A8 you do not feel.

With an eco-economical hybrid power plant based on a 2-liter turbogue, the audience AUDI A8 can be described as not more than sufficient. Neither the sound nor the acceleration correspond to the high status of the model.

There are questions and brakes. It was noticed on Q5 Hybrid: when changing braking by the electric motor (with a small intensity of deceleration), a small step appears on the braking of the working hydraulic system. Here is the same story. But in the staffing modes it is easy to get used to it.

Priorities, as it turned out, there were others.

A competitor, BMW, makes hybrid modifications of its cars based on powerful and multiliery motors, in which we recently seen on the example of the five. In the Audi, they decided to exploit their full hybrid based on a two-liter turbo travel: this bundle is already used on the Q5 Hybrid and A6 Hybrid models, and now it also got a respectable A8. Because two companies have different purposes: in BMW, it is only a more powerful and expensive version, and for Audi it is to save. Different to the fact that the A8 Hybrid became the most economical and most environmentally friendly car in its segment: 6.3 liters of fuel per hundred and 147 CO2 grams per kilometer. Naturally, such results will allow the Germans even more to reduce the total amount of CO2, which is thrown out all AUDI models, which is very important for Europe with its rigid environmental requirements. It is these requirements now forcing automakers to create two-liter limousines.


The absurdity of this approach clearly demonstrates the data of the modification A8 3.0 TDI: the capacity of 250 horsepower, the moment is 550 nm, the fuel consumption is 6.4 liters per 100 kilometers, emissions of CO2 169 grams, the price in Germany is three thousand euros cheaper than A8 Hybrid. The difference with the characteristics of the hybrid version A8 is minimal. With the fact that the moment of diesel is greater, and the real fuel consumption at the A8 Hybrid turned out to be 10.8 liters per hundred. The question arises: why?

Even on European standards, the appearance of A8 Hybrid seems not entirely reasonable. No benefits for payment of transport tax and the possibility of parking in ecological zones are unable to justify Audi's desire to create this strange car. And in Russia, a supercount hybrid on the basis of the flagship sedan is completely nonsense, so we will not sell it. Better A6 Allroad.
