The appearance of the newly made audii marks a certain compromise between the solidity and presentability of senior models of the company and the active energy of the younger ones. The car has grown almost imperceptibly for the eye, widened and seemed to mature, inheriting the features of the new A4 sedan. If you compare the station wagon with the predecessor, it will become obvious - these forms were only good for him. So, for example, the coefficient of the frontal (aerodynamic) resistance of the circuits is reduced to 0.3, which in itself is unique for a body of this type, and at the same time 6% lower than that of the previous model. Good streamlines allowed the novelty to claim not only to improve fuel efficiency and maximum speed, but - in combination with other events - provided improve comfort. At a speed of 140 km/h, the level of sound pressure inside the cabin decreased by 3 dB (a) by reducing aerodynamic noise.
According to specialists of the company, the body of the new station wagon became 10% tougher. This, for sure, will ensure greater management accuracy and the adequacy of the reactions of the car, especially on winding roads.
A slight increase in the dimensions of the body and the painstaking work of the company engineers allowed to add air in the cabin and bring closer to the optimal shape of the luggage compartment. The distance to the ceiling increased by 13 mm, and the gap between the knees of the rear passengers and the backs of the front seats increased to 43 mm, and by no means at the cost of the comfort of the driver and the front passenger. The width of the salon at the level of the backs of the front seats has become 17 mm larger, while at the level of the rear it increased by as much as 27 mm. This cross -clutch allowed not only imposingly accommodate sitting in front, but also significantly increased the comfort of the rear passengers, even on a long trip with a full load of the car. In a word, the main claims to the predecessor in terms of accommodation in the cabin in the new station wagon were removed. Even the luggage compartment has become more rational thanks to the flat panels of the floor and the side walls without protrusions of the wheel arches. Its volume is 442 liters, and with folded rear seats - 1184.
About pleasant trifles. On the instrument shield between the scales of the tachometer and the speedometer, the navigation display is now regularly located. The control buttons of this system settled on a massive front console, just below the standard radio. Another gift to the owner is a climatic box (in other words - a mini -chronicle for a bottle of drink) in the duffel box of the front passenger. To top it off, the story about the salon will inform you that the customer is offered to choose from 57 decoration options from traditionally solid materials.
A4 Avan sets on a steppe, with self -esteem of dignity, moving in space. The setting of the transmission is such that any unsuccessful or uncertain trampling of the gas pedal is leveled - jerks and twitching of cars are excluded even with the most powerful of the engines. Well, if the driver’s desire is consciously, the car softly and implicitly performs his commands, whether it is dynamic acceleration for embedding, overtaking, maintaining high speed on the car, active traffic along the mountain road. Traditionally soft, but energetic and accurate reactions in braking and maneuvering are accurate. The fact that you are driving a station wagon is reminiscent of a somewhat limited review through an internal mirror. But external mirrors of increased size and automatic parking control system (ASP) more than compensate for this inconvenience. In general, the new version of the A4 universal has become more prestigious, comfortable and capable of satisfying the desires of very picky owners.
