Pontiac

Pontiac Silver Streak 1948

The American company named Pontiac was founded in 1893 and was engaged in the manufacture of crews. From 1907 to 2012, sports cars were produced under this brand. The very first model of the company was represented by the general public in 1907, and already in 1909 the GENERAL MOTORS concern becomes the owner of the brand. The technical coup occurred in 1933, when the company released advanced models of automobiles with independent suspension and six-cylinder engines. The present symbol of the era and the sample for subsequent generations of sports cars was the famous coupe of 1967 (model GTO), repeatedly defeated in races. In the era of the global energy crisis caused by a sharp increase in oil prices in 1978 - 1980s, the company's management decides on the release of cars with low gasoline consumption. Despite all efforts, the trademark for several years did not bring income and was completely eliminated by 2010.
