The XC90 body turned out to be extremely strong, providing comprehensive protection to all passengers. The deformations and crims were minimal, although the front passengers were subjected to a small risk of injury to the chest due to the effects of seat belts. Children's chairs also showed a good result and corresponded to all EURO NCAP requirements. An unusual feature of the car is that it can be installed in it with an ISOFIX system of any size. Finally, for such a large car, pedestrian protection turned out to be not bad.

The body moved very well, and the foot niche and the driver's door were only minimal deformation. As a result of the strike, the pedal node shifted for a short distance.
