Comments:

Volkswagen Sharan is a complete twin Ford Galaxy and Seat Alhambra. None of them was previously tested, but it is expected that their results would be similar. The Sharan cabin was badly damaged and lost integrity at a frontal impact, and the space in the cabin around the driver was much decreased, creating the risk of injury to the chest, the right leg and feet. Sidewinder minivan moved better, since, like most of my classmates, the driver is considerably higher currents hitting the usual car, which contributes to its safety. However, even under this condition the chest was exposed to significant loads. More attention needs to be given to pedestrian protection, in spite of the two stars in this category and a better than usual protection of the bonnet leading edge.

Frontal impact:

The loss of the passenger interior interior and the degree of displacement of the steering wheel increased the driver's chances of getting injuries of the head or chest. The contact of the head of the driver with the airbag was held even before its full disclosure, so in the final phase, the "breakdown" was recorded. Both facts may result in injury. The front panel went into the salon and hit the knees and the bottom of the legs, and the niche for the legs collapsed. Also, the design of the zone near the knees needed an improvement. The central seat of the seat of the seats was equipped with a two-point safety belt, which ensures the worse protection compared to the three-point.

Security of passenger children:

The front airbag of the passenger was included in the basic configuration, so the child existed a real danger to get a life-threatening injury, when installing a children's chair "against the direction of movement" in the front seat. The warning about this was incomprehensible, and the experts advised the manufacturer more seriously treat this moment. Built-in children's chairs are suitable for the placement of children by age up to 10 years. They can be established "against the direction of movement", which is better suited for younger children, but the test of the car with such a configuration was not carried out due to the incomprehensible instructions for installing seats. The chairs themselves were perfectly designed and similar to ordinary car seats.

Side strike:

The level of protection when hitting the side was mostly good, but the driver was subjected to a small risk of injury to the chest.

Pedestrian safety:

Pedestrian protection turned out to be bad - only two stars. Especially dangerous was the point of hitting the child's head.
