Comments:

After refinement of safety curtains and a repeated side strike on the Golf column, five stars received. Passive safety systems showed a good result, preventing the hit of the chest and the driver’s head against the steering column. Protection with lateral blows turned out to be impressive, and children's seats well protected their riders. The protection of pedestrians turned out to be a similar Touran model - the best among all the tested European cars.

Frontal blow:

Passive safety systems showed a good result, although the load on the chest cells of the front riders turned out to be slightly higher than the norm. The driver risked getting a knee injury due to a blow to hard elements under the surface of the front panel. The car body underwent minimal deformation in the area of \u200b\u200bthe threshold and front rack, as well as a slight compression of the foot niche.

Safety of passenger children:

For a 3-year-old passenger, the VW Britax Romer Duo Plus children's chair was taken, fixed using the ISOFIX system and the safety strap. For 18 months, the VW Britax Romer Babysafe chair was used, recorded by seat belts. The heads of both passengers were well protected, however, during the frontal impact on the chest cells of both and the younger head was affected by too much load. The marking of the seats was understandable and durable. On the edge of the front panel was a pictogram, and on the windshield - a text message in three languages. All of them could easily tear themselves away and did not warn about the inadmissibility of the placement of the children's chair “against the direction of movement” at the site of the front passenger. The front pillow of the passenger can be turned off using a switch in a glove box and ignition key, however, before using it, you need to carefully read the instructions.

Side blow:

Protection with lateral blows was very impressive. Side pillows and safety curtains worked effectively. The latter also protect passengers of the second row.

Pedestrian safety:

Pedestrian protection was higher than average. The bumper and the front edge of the hood softened the blow well. The heads of an adult pedestrian and the child were well protected. However, the wings and edges of the hood were traumatic.
